At least N600 trillion (six hundred trillion Naira) is unaccounted for, during Obasanjo's time in office. till this day he has somehow not allowed his management of our oil revenue between 1999 and 2007 to be audited. Shameless thief Abacha was infinitely better than Obasanjo, yet Obasanjo is making so much noise about Abacha's corruption. The Best Leaders Nigeria ever had in my opinion are Buhari and Abacha Obasanjo and Babangida are equal worst. https://www.nairaland.com/nigeria/topic-693700.352.html |

The truth is that when i was much younger,i remember that most southerners feared Hausa/Fulani's and the middle belt was silenced. Obasanjo balanced the Nigerian equation, indirectly gave Niger Deltan militants room to flourish,so as to make it impossible for any northeern cabal to have unlimited access to Nigerias oil. Obasanjo, gave southerners and the middle belt courage,-Plateau states' power structure was taken from the Hausa fulani and returned to the Beroms. Obasanjo diluted the Nigerian Army:Today,i'm seeing lots of igbo and south south Major generals in the Nigerian army, this was NEVER the case during the northern military era. Obasanjo's singular move in 1999 of retiring ALL military officers that had ever held political office is directly responsible for Nigerias 12 years of uninterrupted democracy. Now we have a generation of 12 to 15 year old Nigerians who have no idea of what a military government looks like. The defeated Hausa/Fulani cabal are fighting back through Boko Haram, but its a battle that they will surely loose because 70% of Nigerians from the deep south up to southern Kaduna have the capacity to wipe them all out if a peaceful compromise is not reached. Chief Olusegun Aremu Mattew Obasanjo is the greatest Nigerian that ever lived. |

It is either Obasanjo stole the capital fund used to jumpstart Otta farm or borrowed it. As of this post, all evidences suggest he stole the money. Obasanjo is one of the slimy and conniving dirty criminals Nigeria has ever produced. One thing he could not sneak himself through was a requisite examination that would have placed him in RMA at Sandhurst, UK via Teshie, Ghana where Ojukwu flunked him not once but twice. |

publisher: Please be specific about the southerners who were afraid of Hausa, Fulani or Kanuri. Ndigbo and Biafrans have never and will never be afraid of anything from either northern or southern region. The afraid you alluded in your post manifested from the cowardly act by majority of southerners who joined forces with northern region to precipitate a war against Biafra hence the birth of the nonsensical phrase “the north are born to rule”. |

I happy that Abacha made this criminal spend 3 good years in kiri kiri prison Buhari is light years better than Obasanjo, but I could never have the affront to claim Buhari is the greatest living Nigerian. Obasanjo is definetly amongst the worst that Nigeria has produced https://www.nairaland.com/nigeria/topic-693700.32.html |

~Bluetooth: You shall not disappoint at playing marooned clown. Even something very elementary as the parts played by many field commanders on Nigerian side during the Nigeria/Biafra civil war, you have foolishly arrogated to Obasanjo. I am not surprise because the only thing your folks have not claimed yet is 1914 amalgamation of southern and northern protectorate. You might as well claim such idiotic maneuver too. |

When Obasanjo was leaving in 2007, He promised that we shall look back and appreciate him in the next 10 years, He left 15 Ships in the coffer of Nigerian Port Authority as a military administrator. He met only one when he came back in 1999, Before leaving in 2007, he had purchased 10 More, Also, can anyone compare the impact of ICPC and EFCC during Obasanjo's era to what they are now. Call it witch hunting, but they were able to discipline a couple of culprits then. Not like now when people like Bankoles are still walking on the street on Nigeria free! |

publisher: I must say without equivocation that your request of me to pose a certain question to my parents is idiotic and infantile. Again, no single ethnic group in the colonial contraption called Nigeria will dream of engaging Ndigbo in a war and survive to recount the battles. I guess the afraid you referenced in your previous post stemmed from shameful and cowardly act staged by Obasanjo, Ejoor, Johnson, Wey and Adebayo who shook in their military pants in Lagos while crowning a relatively junior officer such as Gowon the commander-in-chief in defiance to military parlance. |

Obj is the man. Just in case we have forgotten, I will drop a few clues: NAFDAC, FCT (El Rufai), Telecoms (MTN, Glo, Econet), IPPs, urban interchanges (a series of "bypasses" constructed to take traffic off major cities), Local content, EFCC, End to Military rule, Banking (ATMs, ebanking, etc). The list is endless. If u don't get d clues, research for urself and understand. The facts are there for all to see. |

Until we know the full gist behind the allegation that he slept with his sons wife, I will maintain my tempered admiration for him. He did a lot to (permanently??) alter our political & economic landscape and therefore qualifies as a great Nigerian no doubt, my greatest living Nigerians are people who wake up as early as 4am to eke out a living yet surviving on less than $10 a day - they are the heartbeat of our nation and very much the reason why we tick!!! |

GenBuhari: All you said is not in any public record. It is beer parlour talk and accusations by those who dont like him. Not of it has any substance. If it had, men like Atiku or Buhari who hate him to the bones or IBB would have use that to try to send him to jail. They are just beer parlour talk and mostly exagrated stuff. For example how can someone take you serious when you say something like "Presided during the total collapse of our power network with the entire Eastern region in darkness for several days". Did he form a committe to see to it that the power network collasped or what are you talking about. Sounds sooooo unintelligent. or you also said "He hiked fuel prices approx 500% and deceived Nigerians by calling the price hike subsidy removal - when fuel was never subsidised". Do you think a president just sits in his house and presides over fixing of prices? Anoher unintelligent post. Prices are arrived at by many indicators. Some of these indicators, the president cannot even understand fully. He has to rely on the experts to interpret them for him. Thats why you have men like Greenspan and Rupert Murdock in the US advising Obama. Thats why there is an Iweala there to advise GEJ. Many of you who have never worked in government circles think this is just about politicians. you also said "He gave away our Nigerian land - Bakassi" Gave away Bakkasi? Do you even know the whole story? I guess not! "Mismanaged and looted Nigeria Airways causing it to collapse." Another beer parlour talk "Abolished the Petroleum Trust Fund wich was set up by Abacha to improve Infrastructure." This one hardly deserves a reply. FTF was at best a military scam I am from delta and i cna bet 100, 000 naira with you if you can show me one benefit of PTF to delta state. PTF was an open scam "Zaki biam and odi mass massacre - entire villages massacred - thousands of innocent people massacred by his orders." Honesstly I dont know why I am replying these. They are simply stu.pid. Most of you just type anything you like without much intelligence in it. You dont just kill 9 army officers and expect the military to thank you for it. And where did you get that a whole village was massacared. Anytime the military or police or anyone visits a village, the villagers are normally gone like 1 hour before they arrive. The only people that get caught in the crossfire are the old who cannot move. You think young people sit in their houses and wait for soldiers to come and kill them. I think I am wasting my time doing this, really |

publisher: You must be inherently idiotic to post this nonsensical write-up. There was no doubt Biafra was defeated. The issue in discuss remains who were the southerners overly afraid of Hausa or Fulani. The last time I checked though, most politicians from the northern region of Nigeria are still on their knees thanking Allah that certain moronic southerners joined them in defeat of Biafra. I guess you would have been ashamed of your silly self to inject the element of international community to this discussion, the same international community that rushed to the aid of Nigeria. You seemed to be only dullard who has dreamt about the Biafran soldier’s violation of their source of strength. If this idiotic allegation from a gull such as you is remotely close to be truth, the war would have ended in first week as idiotically predicted by Nigerian leadership. Now you are slowly showing your dirty hand as who were the southerners actually afraid of Hausa or Fulani. You are a regrettable troll. |

7 June, 2001 - BBC News Obasanjo's shame: 13 States including entire Eastern Nigeria in darkness as power cut is expected to last two weeks The Nigerian Electricity Power Authority (Nepa) says 13 states, including the entire eastern part of the country, may be without electricity for two weeks after what it calls an attack by vandals on a vital transmission line. Tens of millions of people in eastern Nigeria have been without electricity since Monday night. Nigeria's Government has struggled to improve the country's notoriously inefficient electricity network since coming to power two years ago. Nigerians are well accustomed to power cuts but rarely on such a devastating scale. The huge area affected by this latest blackout includes some of Nigeria's largest and economically most important cities. Struggling industries and public services, as well as private households, are already experiencing enormous inconvenience and discomfort. Sabotage A Nepa official told the BBC that a tower on a vital power line serving the east had been attacked by vandals and that it may take two weeks to repair. Power lines in Nigeria are often sabotaged by gangs working for scrap metal traders, although in this instance one Nepa official is quoted as saying that no pieces had been removed from the damaged tower. Last year an angry President Olusegun Obasanjo took direct charge of Nepa, accusing it of notorious and endemic corruption. President Obasanjo has pledged to to increase output to a constant 4,000 megawatts by the end of this year. But even if Nigeria attains this target, it will be producing one-tenth as much electricity as South Africa, with about three times the population. https://www.nairaland.com/nigeria/topic-693700.352.html |
