ABUJA (AFP) – Ivory Coast’s President Alassane Ouattara was named the new head of West Africa’s regional bloc, outgoing chief Goodluck Jonathan of Nigeria announced Friday before the close of the body’s summit.

“For the chairman of the authority we have also unanimously agreed that the President of Cote d’Ivoire, Alassane Ouattara,” would take over, Jonathan said at a meeting of the Economic Community of West African States in Abuja.

Quattara - a known former IMF executive, this guy that was hand picked by the western countries to rule Ivory Coast. We are finished. Nigerians reading this, don't take my words at face value, go and do your own research on why former President of Ivory Coast, Gbagbo was hunted and ousted  from power. This guy was trying to untie Ivory Coast from the shackles of colonial France, in other words, he was trying to untie Ivorian currency from french currency. Same way that France tied Haitian currency to theirs for more than 2 centuries and Haiti never made head way. Most of you might not understand this, essentially what this means is that the former colonial master(France) still controls the currency value of Ivory Coast. Gbagbo was hunted because he VOWED to untie Ivory Coast from the shackles of colonial slavery. They tell you in the mainstream media that Quattara won? Lets put this in context:  how did he win? Who decides on who won elections? What constitutional body has absolute and final say on election malpractices? Is it the supreme court or electoral body? My judgement tells me its the Supreme court and most of you will agree. Who decided the election of President Goodluck Jonathan vs. Buhari few weeks ago and in the past elections, was it Supreme court or Electoral body(INEC)? Of course it was the Nigerian Supreme court.   Who decided the election of Bush vs. Gore in 2000?  United Supreme court did. Now, conversely, when the Ivorian Supreme court ruled that Gbagbo was the winner of the election in Ivory Coast, the western world said, No! no! no! The electoral body or INEC in our case, has the final say. Who did these people think they are fooling? Like we are babies and can't think for our selves.

This guy Quattara is only there as ECOWAS chairman to carry out the bidding of western powers like outgoing-chairman Jonathan. What did Jonathan accomplish as ECOWAS chairman? Absolutely nothing. I am afraid to say this, yes Abacha was a dictator, by far, the best ECOWAS chairman the body has had. Go and read his accomplishments and how he brought peace to many unstable countries in West Africa. Why didn't Jonathan as ECOWAS(didn't even know he was ECOWAS chairman because never heard of him all those while) work with Zuma, former AU president to devise a plan to protect Libya and Gaddafi?

Fellow Africans, what is our generation waiting for?
Now before our very eyes, we sit still and let the puppet show continue.
All over Africa, the cast of the puppets are running the show
- Ouattara, Sirleaf, Ondiamba Bongo, GEJ, Tsvangirai, Ian Khama, Kabila, Paul Biya, Kagame, The NTC in libya.
Lord have mercy, when are we going to have African leaders whose loyalty is to Africans.

Spot on France runs Francophone countries. They live off black countries for like 200 years first Haiti now the Francophone countries. The only way is through revolution. We are always killing each other but we need to unite as one. All over Africa we need to unite rise against leaders who serve foreign interests.

Cap27 knows a lot about this stuff too. Puppets let the west rape their country. Kabila is one of them. Etienne should be President but the west wants the resources at a cheap rate. We need governments who serve our interests not the foreigners. We need to invest in each other and do tourism with each other. Just like in my site www.nigerianedp.com

We cannot wait for the government for everything unless we revoly against them. It is funny how us Africans always try and be like other people. There is occupy Wall street and Arab revolution, how many people are fighting for their rights? Why doesn't Africa follow the Arabs or westerns?

The problem is that we have been rising for a long time. Like the Congo tried to rise against mobuto but the west gave him guns to put the people down. We need to keep trying because we will be slaves as long as they let us. South America has no more puppets besides Columbia. Middle East still has theirs like in Bahrain and Saudi. Africans we need to stop praying to Jesus or Allah for things to get better and take action.

All of you screaming Africa is doomed, puppet dis and dat are nothing but empty noise makers and I hop u'd just shut up.Even the ones who hav no inkling who Quattara is,wat it takes to b an ECOWAS Chairman or even what the body represents are also whinning.
First of,If not for colonization, many of you would stil be wearing leaves and sack cloths for covering,or betteryet hanging around in the thick forests of your villages, hunting games wit bows and arrows and other crude weapons.
Secondly, the same westerners and their institutions grant Aids and loan facilities to your continent ,which your leaders gladly accept with both hands, thus,As assumed as it is,that these westerners wield influence on African leaders,I do not think it is such a bad idea,my reason being that many African leaders are just not there yet,(leadership wise)they've got nothing to offer the people of Africa apart from scheming ways to perpetuate themselves in Power.
From Mobutu,to Ghadaffi to OBJ and even GEJ.
I think Africa still has a lot to learn from the West, politically, economically, technologically and socio-culturally,and if our leaders being tied to the apron strings of the western leaders(Neo-colonialism) is the way forward, then so be it.

Why is it that every time a leader didn't accept aid he was overthrown or assassinated? Like Thomas Sankara, Gaddaffi, and Buhari (in 1980s). Did you read confessions of an economic hitman? Those power plants  don't benefit the people and the people have to pay high debts for them. Since when did America stop government spending on everything for their 14 trillion debt? NO they wouldn't do that. Why doesn't America cut education and healthcare like they made Nigeria in 1986? When IBB was leader after Buhari. Foreign aid is another form of colonialism. Lie! @ bolded

Usually I try not to reply to comments that come no where to the vicinity of reason. One problem with some Nigerians is that they assume they know something but actually have no understanding of what they claiming to know.

Let me walk you through history in a second: United States presidential election was decided by the supreme court in 2000 of Bush vs. Gore. If you knew what I was talking about you wouldn't be labeling my comment as a "lie". When I say it was decided by the U.S Supreme Court your common sense should tell you that the ruling on Florida in favor of Bush, gave Bush the victory. Had the supreme court not ruled in favor of Bush, Gore would had been the president of the United States from 2000-2008. 99% Americans know this and if you have lived in the U.S and don't know this, you should be deported instantly with no recourse to take your belongings or see your family.

Read more and enlighten yourself before opening your ignorant mind next time.

Yes undergraduate in us then I plan to get an MBA at maybe lagos business school. I am into economics so in order to undertand economics you need to know socialogy politics and history. So I study all of this on my spare time. Us africans have willy lynch syndrome because we have been trained to believe we ate inferior. We have to learnn about our great history in our past. Also our inferiority complex hurts the economy because we rather buy a whote mans product than a nigerians. So we have a love for foreign goods which depletes our foreign reserves. This is why I created the website www.nigerianedp.com I want to promote nigeria. I hear wizkid talk about gucci an dolce and gabana. In his song don't dull. In his song holla at ya boy hw wears americans clothes american slang and dances. If he were to wear nigeria clothes then this woukd create many jobs because the youth would follow him and a bbigger demnd will be there. I don't blame the west for everything. We need to change our colonial mindset. My ite is a start. Hopefully people can follow this.

Also read cap28 afro blue isale gan horus they mukina they know what's really going on in nigeria and africa too. You just cannot watch cnn and fox because they lie. Like right now they want to go in iran and syria. They can do the same for nigeria if people start to go their ow way. America wants to turn nigeria into sudan and split it up. Then it is easier to control. They also want the chinese out because they fear china.

igbo 2011, danka777, isale gan, afro blue and all other conscious brothers and sisters on this forum i want to say a big thank you for propagating your deep understanding of what is going on on the african continent.

as for you ugosly you are sleepwalking into a very deep dark and bottomless pit of hell.

i cant beleive that any sane african person can actually open their mouth and say that we africans have a lot to learn from europeans who invaded our continent, enslaved us, destroyed our continent, brainwashed us with religions that they themselves do not even believe in, destroyed our culture , replaced our indigenous languages with theirs and degraded and dehumanised us - are these the type of people that you want to learn from? you must be mentally ill to want to learn from someone who hates you and continues to do everything on this planet to ensure that you remain as an inferior being.

here are just a few atrocities that your european and american idols are currently comitting on the african continent:

mobilising a military force known as africom in order to recolonise your entire continent
overthrowing or assassinating any nationalist african leaders who try to mobilise the people against their puppets

using debt slavery courtesy of the IMF and the world bank to reduce africans to beggars in their own country

arming, funding and training rebel groups to overthrow legitimate nationalist african leaders who refuse to hand over their economies to the IMF and world bank

using their media to brainwash young africans into accepting western cultural values and ideologies in order to neutralise any feelings of nationalism and make them gullible docile zombies who accept western domination.

using their media to make young africans reject their own cultures, look down on their own people and aspire to be more like europeans and americans.

funding, arming and training BOTH SIDES in military conflicts in resource rich regions of africa in order to:
plunge the entire country into chaos
create an environment that will allow them to sneak in and keep stealing the resources in the midst of the chaos without any challenge
facilitate mass genocide and population depletion of those areas

the bottom line is they want to plunge the entire african continent into a state of chaos, war, famine, economic collapse in order to make it easier for them to make off with every valuable natural resource that the continent has UNCHALLENGED.

AFRICOM IS ALREADY ON THE CONTINENT AND ITS PLAN TO DESTABILISE THE ENTIRE CONTINENT IS NOW UNDERWAY - YOU BETTER AWAKE FROM YOUR SELF INDUCED COMA!!!

Demdem:

Abegii any response to this question of mine.

You don't get it - GEJ is their puppet just as Ouattara is their puppet.

GEJ did everything they asked him to - he voted in favour of the no fly zone over libya which led to the destruction of a sovereign state in violation of international law and the UN charter.

He supported the French invasion and mass murder of pro Gbagbo supporters in Ivory Coast.

He endorsed the NTC who hate black africans and who openly lynched black africans and posted the videos of the lynchings on youtube

this is the behaviour of a puppet -

oh and last but not least - he took orders from Christine Lagarde (head of the IMF) who ordered him to increase the price of petrol plunging 99% of nigerians into even MORE poverty and degradation - a complete puppet - owned lock stock and barrel by america and europe.
