Yet to get a job though. I am a web designer/developer, also a graphic designer but getting clients has been a huge problem this year. I see a lot of folks getting jobs and then I wonder what exactly am I doing wrong.

Recently sat for an online exam for an outsourcing firm (VLA). Yet to get my result or invite.

Please, who knows a thing or two about VLA exams? I am seriously confused about what next to do

For the main time, I'm still hustling at Alaba int'l market. Check my signature, please. Thank you

If you're also married, tell your spouse to get a job or a hustle. You can't fund a family alone with this figure.

I think I'll borrow this pattern of yours. But thing is as a guy, hanging out once in a while is a must! worse for someone like me that drinks Red wine. For health reasons of course.
You see that food ehn, it's the most important. The last time I bought stuffs was Dec last year, and It will take me till next month. It saves money and stress.
Hanging out is not a must, and if you must, have a budget for it. Saving is a must for me. Any other things comes after that had been removed. So plan with whatever remains. Set your priorities first.

I'll advise you get a side hustle like extra lesson sessions. It pays off rather than depending solely on the miserly salary. Just approach parents in your school, neighbourhood etc, you'll definitely get clients in no time. And if you're good, you'll be having referrals. Give it a try and you'll be glad you did.
I thank you for your candid advice but I'm already thinking of moving to Lagos to hustle there.

i may not advise anyone to work on Fiverr, I have my reasons... Upwork is better, that is where I work presently writing articles for my clients, I make decent money there.... so Upwork is better.
I know, I thought you were just starting. Great to know you are in the field.

How much do you drop for the family feeding.

I give my wife 30k per month for feeding, her and the two kids. But she dey always complain bitterly. Na only in the night I dey eat at home ooo
ma Wife is understandable and knows that for now, there's no money so she's managing whatever comes in very well.
I've been managing the 25k monthly both for feeding and probably medications but it's not enough since 2 of ma daughters have started school.

I've always been asking people questions that how do people that earn less cope in this harsh economic situation?

Even 100K now looks like nothing. You can only feed the family and have nothing left, not to talk about those earning 50K and less.

Instead of asking we that are unemployed how we cope?!

Things are madly expensive and this people in government even finds it hard to pay minimum wage.

You go to the market, 20K is gone and you are yet to get anything.... How about those with kids with school fees to pay?

It's really crazy out there...

You pay Tithe from N25,000 ?

Go read your Bible well. Your pastor should be giving you Tithe. Tithe is meant for the poor to feed in the house of God.

The bolded is very wrong...people like you are the problems of this country. Raising a family without any means of income because of societal pressure is detrimental.

In America, there are 50 year olds who’ve never been married nor have kids.

We are not Americans; we are Africans.
We are family- and community-orirnted people.
Besides, nothing in my message suggests that raising a family without a job is good.
However, someone can start raising a fam and working hard in the hopes that things get better.
It's very normal.

Is it not money you'll use to invest?
I try to save up-to 100k in six months to do what? Be looking at the alert on my phone? No nau.
Watches are not important, but are necessary. If I want go be buying everything I like ehn, i would have collected all my treasures in heaven and still borrow. I had to learn saving the hard way when I realized there's more to spending the money as it comes.

I knew you’d come with this rhetoric, stop giving excuses, there’s no such thing as Africans or Americans. We are humans and we need to act like humans i.e learning and copying things that will better our situation, not holding on to mundane beliefs and customs. We are over 200 million people isn’t that enough community?

All this African thingy you all like to yap about is just an excuse a black man gives to hide his love for breeding like rats and not cater for them.
It’s just about sex to blacks as it is our only sport.

The only problem is if you don't know how to. repair phones. If you know how to, then simply pass word around to advertise yourself. Then you could set up a small kiosk at a market place or busy place with a banner advertising what you do . You could be doing the repair business after school hours and then fully on weekends.

I'm currently on 28k salary as a graduate in Kano. honestly, it's not been easy. everything is being spent on food and transportation. Nothing to flex with, no money for shopping, clubbing, electricity gadgets or girlfriend. I'm currently contemplating on venturing into smartphone repairing but I don't know how to combine it with my teaching job.

You could save from your salary for a few months or seek assistance from relatives to raise the amount.

Stop paying tithes to those pastors.
Dont be deceived. How can u be suffering and still make paying of tithe automatic when even ur salary isnt automatic.
Dont get me wrong,as I am only trying to advice u on what is good for u. U need to help yourself first before helping another person/organisation. Financial education is key.

Sings in tiwa Savage voice: if I start to talk, wetin baba God do me e no go end , I say e no go end.

God is just a faithful God, As a paralegal I earn below 45k but with transportation incentives anytime I have things to do which relates to official work.

My second year I bought a land, though having issues with omo onile bruhaha. I save 30k monthly and manage the rest which is not up to 11k for both feeding, transportation , recharge etc lol

Family expenses dey there ooooo , not to talk of taking care of yourself. DUring the PANDEMIC I could not save due to slash in salary nor neither was the income forthcoming but God made a way.

As an hardworking guy I did several things, like sell aroundnut oil, baby wares etc ( check my signature)

I do CAC registration

Several aside runs that bring lil change although not Everytime.

Lol it's just my 4th year and I saved well for 2years as a salary earner while the other two years was affected with pandemic and lockdown bruhaha

God is just too faithful to fail

Nigerians and their hilariousness. Weaponise as in weaponising uranium?
Lol, you sound funny

Don't you know Nigeria weaponised poverty against her masses?

The political class, the elite and the likes absolutely without any iota of doubt WEAPONISED POVERTY to get through the masses

Don't you see those our fellow Nigerians who queue behind politicians to get a cup of rice, grains, oil and possibly 1k

Do you think they're happy doing that? No one in his/her right senses is proud of such situation

They have no other choice because of HUNGER wish was as a result of POVERTY which the political class/elite used as a weapon to get the masses cheaply

Well, you are right in a way. But a poor person who because of poverty refuses to have children is just postponing or let me say lengthening the evil day.
I have seen poor people who produced children and struggled to educate those children, even if it was just public schools, who are enjoying today by depending on those children.

My uncle has four children. He was a teacher like his wife in those days. It was hard. They used to come over every Xmas.
But the first son finished from medical school in 2005 and from the money he earned during out man ship bought his dad a BMW. Today they live in their own house.
If the man had decided not to have children because he was poor. I wonder where he would be now, especially since he worked in osun state where pensions were not paid as and when due. The Koko is to make sure those children get educated.
