My brother, the worst thing that befalls us as Christians is hypocrisy. Feeling that we're alright when we know that we're not. It's even worse among the clergy because the Christian principle says that a man must remove the log in his eyes before removing speck from their brother's. Today, we have millions of preachers whose lives have not been made right before Jesus covering up with so-called service to God. In reality, the way it is in the physical should be how it is in the spiritual. A child should not give birth to a child and so become a parent. So when you know that you have not sat with Jesus and be delivered from your own sin, as you said in this case, selfishness and shrewdness, to the point of obeying the Lord, becoming a preacher is calamitous. No wonder Jesus said that the harvest indeed is plentiful but the laborers are few. The quality of preaching in today's church has been watered down because the preachers themselves are not obedient to Jesus. That's why Christianity barely exists from Mondays to Saturdays.
