obynzo: Eh...Lagos’ IGR far outstrips it’s federal allocation... It’s 2020 IGR is N418b while it’s 2020 FAAC allocation was N115b (see charts below). Meanwhile, debt is NOT a bad source of investible capital (the US is the world’s biggest debtor), so long as it’s sustainable... Lagos’ debt ratio is LESS than 18 percent of revenue, while in contrast the federal government’s debt breached 99% last year! >

Simplythebest: Development is a PROCESS and not an event... Lagos has over 10,000 roads and reportedly spends 55-60% of its budget just on roads. https://nairametrics.com/2021/04/19/roads-take-up-60-of-lagos-capital-expenditure-yearly-sawn-olu/

EmekaA125:Keep quiet PDP clown. Sanwo-Olu is breaking records, never you compare him with the thieves in Abia. Igbos in Lagos are proud of him. He reminds us of Fashola, a non-tribal Governor who carries everyone along. Only the fast pace rate of the Badagry Express road is testimony to his ability as Governor. Dude has shut up his critics with the completion of projects everywhere in Lagos. 1 Like |

9jaRealist:Again why do you have a high debt in Lagos? even if it is 18% which is even approaching a trillion naira? if there was proper fiscal policy not centred on corruption Lagos should be competing with the likes of Johannesburg, Nairobi, Casablanca, Kigali and Cairo. but with the reality on ground Lagos cannot even compete with Accra in terms of roads. It is an insult on our sensibilities to compare Lagos with other states. After Abuja the bulk of standard infrastructure in the country was in Lagos. Lagos had a head start in development because it was a former federal capital territory not because of anyone's political vision. most of the places in Lagos have master plans implemented by Colonial and former military governments. The reality is that there is no masterplan for Lagos created by Tinubu only a political enterprise structure designed to serve his interests. With the head start Lagos had over the decades Lagos should have been advanced like these African cities i have mentioned, but noooooo at this level a governor is bragging about roads as his score card. We all need to be ashamed of ourselves walahi |

obynzo:Are you aware that Ambode abandoned that Badagry express road? But Sanwo-Oku came up to continue it. Keep your petty politics to yourselves. Charity should begin from home rather than pock-nose into another states else affair. I doubt if you're a Lagosian to start with. Do you even live in Lagos? Are you a Lagos tax payer? What right do you have to criticize Sanwo-Olu. Sanwo-Olu is doing well in his first tenure. Allow him be. PDP should try that luck again next election. 1 Like |
