However these are the steps;

Make sure you arrive the airport 1 hour before departure time(Since you are flying for the first time) . When you are done with the above, ask them to direct you to the boarding hall, where you are going to wait for announcement of your airline...listen attentively whenever any announcement is made and check your ticket if your airline is being called; You would be hearing something like: Max Air 777 Lagos to Kano boarding at exit G etc..

Now, I assume you have entered inside the plane...show any of the cabin crew members your boarding pass, he/she will direct you to your booked seat...Then wait for further announcements by the air crew including the pilot...Don't look down if you have phobia for height ..and don't panic, when the plane encounters air turbulence or they would find out say you be JJC... Just look for newspaper and be acting as if you ve been flying all your life..

On arrival in Kano, just follow fellow passengers to where you can retrieve your baggage...then hail a taxi to your hotel or destination...

There should be no fear or confusion at all.
1. You need to know the Wing of the Airport your flight is; is it Old Local Wing or MMA2 Wing?
If I know which of the Airline Ticket you have, I should able to guide you on this too.
2. Make sure you arrive 30min (minimum) before departure time on your ticket
3. On your arrival at the departure lounge, go to your Airline Counter to get your boarding pass & seat number.
4. Then you move upstairs to wait for boarding (that is if its MM2). If Old Local is the same floor but, you will move to waiting lounge.
5. Carefully listen to announcement, when your Airline boarding is called, then move to the line.
6. Above all always ask questions (that is my logo).

Just do what others are doing bro. They will always ask you where you are going and direct you. The only thing you should worry about is how to fasten your seat belt, that thing is too complicated for a first timer. Just ask someone to help you and save yourself the embarrassment.

The easiest way is just to locate anyone going to the same location and on your plane as well. Strike a conversation, finish, when it's time he will be the one even telling you o boy let's go.

my advice, don't be the first person on any of the queues. Also, listen to the announcer. Thirdly, turbulence as not as turbulent as you imagine.

No big deal, when the conductor announce your plane and where to queue, just join them

Be mindful of who you seek information from at the airport, there are a lot of scammers/touts there looking for newbie like you to exploit. Only talk to anyone in uniform for assistance. There will be a lot of touts harrassing you to offer unsolicited assistance, be careful !

Since this is a local flight, I expect you will be travelling with few things. Get a small decent bag that you can put your personal effects inside (LIQUIDS ARE NOT ALLOWED, NO TOOTHPASTE TOO, EXCEPT IF YOUR ARE CHECKING IT IN !). If you have more than one bag, you will have to check-in the bigger one. It is important that you do not check-in the bag that has valuable items like your laptop, camera, etc. Put those items in the "hand luggage" bag and keep it with you at all times. Keep your eyes on it at alltimes because some people are now in the business of stealing things from other passengers in the plane.
