Even though no body has agreed to answer any of my previous questions, I’m still going to try.

The translator I am talking said I’ll have to scan the documents to her and when she is done, she will send a soft copy of the documents to me. I know I have been seeing DHL, Nipost etc. Would the embassy accept them?

Also, my school only sent soft copies of my documents. They said policies have changed due to COVID. Did you’ll schools do same? I still ask cos I read somewhere here that the embassy only accepts original hard copies.

Please I need full details on how to start a Spanish student visa, the documents needed and the translation and authenticate of documents don't know where and how to start. Is Spanish visa hard to get? I was denied a USA student visa so I am afraid of denial again

For those in Spain want to confirm, I heard unemployment rate is high is that true?

All the Mediterranean countries have high unemployment rates.

If you think you might not land a position, create one. You don't need a lot of money or expertise. You can do something random like exporting spare parts and used cars, or sourcing building materials and industrial components.

ETA: Spain isn't an expensive place to live, so modest earnings from a small business go far.

Most people don’t really get job immediately they get to Spain due to language issue. But once you’re able to learn Spanish, you’ll definitely see a better job. They don’t value English

Hi everyone, I'm joining Nairaland for the first time and I'm glad to go through this thread. Kudos to everyone for keeping this space alive. My name is Ogo. I did my master's in Spain in 2018 and I'll be going back for my PhD soon. So while I have areas of doubts that I hope to be clarified on here, I suppose I can answer some questions based on my little experience. Thank you.

Hi there,

I don't know if you've finally visited the consulate. From my recent visit, however, I paid ₦18,400 for each page to legalise my documents. Yeah, I know that amount sounds ridiculous and I'm angry too - haha, but that's the current reality. It used to be 3100 (as I paid in 2018) but things have changed since February of this year.

To investigate your document, I think you can refer to the checklist someone posted on here some while ago. In any case, it depends on where the document in question originates from. If it's from the North, like mine, you pay 80k. And it doesn't matter how many you're investigating at a time, you'll only pay 80k.

I hope this helps.

Hello,

I'll try and simplify your concerns.

First off, I used to be like you - very terrified about the whole visa process because my first experience with them in 2018 was not funny. They were so uptight and that made me so uneasy. So I carried over that impression into my next visit with them a few months ago. Lol.
Surprisingly, things weren't as I had thought.

With regards to translation, I was equally worried that they wouldn't accept my soft copy print-outs, if that makes any sense. The same thing applied to the documents my Spanish university sent me via email. My translator was agitated because she said the consulate must understand that given the times we're in, it's not easy for documents to be shipped across as before. Therefore, she was hopeful that her digital signature would suffice.

Encouraged by this, I simply printed out the translated documents and took to my appointment (while carrying a pen drive with the soft copies so they can confirm the signature in case they doubted it). Brothers and sisters, there wasn't hesitation or doubt of any sought. They accepted my submission without second guessing.

Based on this, I suppose you should have no worries about submitting original documents, especially the ones from Spain.

Better still, you can email them for more accurate information. Cheers!

What are the options available for undergraduate studies, for someone with no previous degree?

Which schools have the most affordable fees?

How much will be enough to carry out the entire process?

Thanks so much for the response.

Can you please help me clarify:

Do I need to translate my proof of income letter from the bank showing they are granting me a loan?

2. Do I need to authenticate my medical certificate at the ministry of foreign affairs?

Thanks

Just to give an update, you shouldn't have any trouble going. They're letting Indians in, so obviously they're not worried. I assume you'll just have to be sure to get vaccinated.

Here's a link to Spain's embassy in Abuja:
http://www.exteriores.gob.es/Embajadas/ABUJA/en/Embajada/Pages/Embajador.aspx

Here's a site the embassy directs international students to (view it on a desktop or set your phone browser to desktop settings):
http://www.studyinspain.info/en/prepara-tu-viaje/Tramites_administrativos/

Info on grants:
http://www.studyinspain.info/en/reportajes/propuestas/How-to-obtain-a-grant-to-study-in-Spain/

Some of the links are old, so you may have to search for the new site.

One of the grant websites was acting funny for me, so I contacted the appropriate people to address it. I'll follow up on that sometime next week. Some websites also seem kind of slow, but they do work. Be patient.

If you're having trouble with something because you don't know Spanish, let me know and I'll see what I can do.
