Na only for naija job owners/HR be feeling like assistant Jesus. Who you wan advice?? Abeg make una carry una job gettat.

I just want to share this painful and bitter scenario to job seekers out there.

So we posted a job advert and over four hundred applied. Three were selected for interview and only one appeared.

Salary is about 150k for a start.

So this applicant came and did well in both oral and written interview but she was not given the job because of this:

She was given a paper to apply for the job. Excellent write up though but she messed up the whole paper with cancellation and instead of asking for a fresh paper to start over again; she even went ahead and handed over it like that to my boss.

My boss concluded that she was an untidy and scatty fellow.

And that was all.

Please take note of this and try not to make this mistake.

God grant you your desired jobs.

I really don't know what to say

I used to know a Dr back in school...he taught me programming languages all through my years...

This Dr will give you programming codes written classwork...

You know when you dealing with codes ..error is normal ... sometimes when you review what you have just writing...you go back and cancel some symbols and included the right one...in short if this Dr see any sign of canceling, Painting or deep text in ur paper ..My Man! Na 0% you score be that...

So everyone has a policy!

His company his decision

I'm pretty sure they will consider her elsewhere

You and your Dr. are very dumb. Where is it written in NUC that a student can not cancel in any examination. That you Dr. is one of those frustrated lecturers in our highly institution who think they are above the law

I did a recruitment interview for my company. In the end, one lady performed above others in both the written and oral interviews. I recommended her for the job. The lady had a low cut. The boss said that he is not comfortable with ladies that had low cuts. That I should look for another. I told him that the girl is good for that job from my assessment. That we should advise her to be putting on wigs. He asked if I knew the girl before, I said no. He asked if I have collected any form of bribe, I said no. He then accepted and the lady was employed.
Three weeks later, the boss told me that the lady is doing very well on the job and asked me to review her salary. Within 6 months, he bought a personal car for her and keep on praising her for doing the jod well.
The core objectives are what matters, job seekers are usually anxious at first, such thing could be overlooked and corrected immediately since she was good.

Boss had some other motives... Maybe he has his preferred candidate as one of the other two that didn't turn up. Something other than ridiculous cancellations that he could have drawn her attention to.

Two things are involved:

The job isn't for her and your boss is trying to act like an almighty. Big shame on your boss.

Thank God I am not seeking for job right now!

The person in question can easily use her brain to earn higher than what an employer will pay her.

I may not be super rich but I thank God, I can afford my daily meals.

To Job seekers out there: don't wait for who will pay you after giving your best to boost his /her revenue/stream of income rather, channel your effort to where you will benefit 100%.
Please, how?

Another person could see it as a good quality-her desire to make the most of the available resources. There are no perfect employees, even your boss can be disqualified with 1001 reasons including the way he laced his shoes.
Due to very high level of unemployment in the country, employers now look for the smallest of reasons to disqualify applicants. May God help every applicant in this country.

Well, that’s life. My lecturer back then in school will warn us not to use correction pen when writing exams, that he wants to see the mistake; but there was another lecturer who said that you must come to the exam hall with your own correction pen, because he doesn’t want to see any canceling on the booklet.
Exactly everybody make mistakes but it became obvious when is not done neatly .

I'm sorry, you boss is a terrible person ! No candidate is 100% qualified to fill any vacant position. If your boss doesn't know that, it means he or she is just an over zealous and inexperienced perfectionist that will continue to lose talents and good hands to his or her competitors.

Company is unserious. One can coach that attribute and in this modern age of computers - it is a silly reason to fire someone especially if that is their only flaw.

Talk true - someone was intimidated.

Nawa ooo,

Go tell your boss he/she is a joke.

And you were quick to rush here and give advice..... For what exactly?

I will advice you and ur boss, take an internship with some of the new generation work environment in Nigeria.... Paystack, bolt, vendease, mono, klause, prospa, flutterwave etc. And you will learn what modern, employer/employee culture is all about.

Your boss probably missed a gold standard staff and I pray the lady find's a better company deserving of her standard.

PS: if you wouldn't mind and have the lady's contact, please share with me. I honestly would recommend her to my organization, people's team.

Please, how?

One needs to use his/her talent. I graduated over a decade ago, I discovered there is nothing in this country. So, I decided to look around my environment to observe what could be beneficial to the people around there. I discovered fish farming will be suitable then, I started. I later diversified into digital stuff base on my little computer and writing skills. I learnt how to make bar soap, liquid soap, paints and I became a tutor.

Now, cryptocurrency & estate agent have taken over.
