Godons1: So also your state. Because 1. Your state would be cut off from vat and would have to raise its own vat or taxes overall 2. At the end of the day we all would pay higher taxes and pay higher for everything You and the chap you quoted should stop arguing over parasites. Each and every state will suffer long term |

Emergingnation: Which 5 States? Igbo only have 4 States in the EAST. Anambra belongs to North. It's actually Igala ancestral State. All the Wealthy men in Anambra are all IGALA. Other Igbo who are based in Anambra are settlers who came to hustle. Everyone in Anambra speak Igbo cause Igbo is the language of trade in that region.

Godons1: So does your state produce goods and services for the global market? Can your state survive without allawee from Abuja? Without oil money? I believe you on the igr. But I know that no state in Nigeria can survive without oil money and the loans we take to keep.us when the oil prices fall. Igr is meaningless . So also oil money. At the end of the day Nigeria is still a broke nation..Every state in Nigeria cannot an will not survive until they behave like China and start relying on industries and industrial growth |

We based our assumptions on the oil production benchmark at 1.9 billion barrels per day. We also assumed that the crude oil price would remain at 57 dollars per barrel. Wahala, you no get oil you dey give projection based on oil. Who do una done did. |

backbencher: It seems you are not current. Oil only contribute less than 30%to the Economy. Over 70% are from Agriculture, mining and other sectors from other parts of this Country. None of these is generated from the 4 Eastern States. Nigerian will do well even without Oil money

Re: VAT War Between FG, Rivers State Affects Bauchi Budget Proposal by Nobody: 8:20pm On Nov 13, 2021 |
Godons1: That does not answer my question. Does your state produce industrial goods for the rest of the world? Plus, problem with oil, agriculture and mining 1.The prices of all three are never at a level that can sustain us, so at the end of the day, we don't earn enough and have to take loans after loans to keep up 2.Strong states and countries use their raw materials to make products that the world can use. Ghana once sold some cocoa for 2 billion dollars. A lot of money. Some company bought part of that cocoa...and used it to make products worth 17 billion dollars. Some of which were sold in the same Ghana. That's why when I see you guys arguing over parasites, and IGR and oil production, and so on, I just laugh. Nigeria is not a productive nation. The minute all of you get that, then we can move somewhere. |

skywalker240: Well, why are you crying ...esepcially as I am a Southerner myself.? You guys should stop seeing this as a South vs North thing. If each and every state collects VAT...we could end up with higher prices for everything...because most states are not earning enough income , even with oil money...and as a result...they are going to raise VAT to earn that income. The cold reason why Lagos and Rivers are running after VAT is because oil money has been on decline . And they don't want to raise personal income taxes, or tax the majority of their residents who don't pay tax because they work in the informal sector. The VAT thing is at the end of the day just pushing the evil day forward....ie they have to raise taxes on everyone with oil continuing to fall. The thing is, at the end of the day, VAT would be collected ....and the companies who pay vat will pass the cost to you the end consumer. Then maybe you would wake up and see why VAT is a federal thing, and is not only collected on beer. |

Coldie: In your dreams. Nigeria is backward in most of its things, where a country at its center takes over all legal requirements, and financial requirements there can never be development, and the said country claims to be so democratic. Take for instance, if we therefore decide to penalize the Abia officials who have been looting people like that. They can do red carpeting and go to people like Tinibu or Buhari to give them protection after they specify their requirements based on politics. And the case is dropped. So who are we decieving. But in Biafra, I'm perfectly sure every amount from all officials even the president would be accounted for. Not Nigeria that favours favouritism. Biafra, Igbos are what makes Nigeria what they are without them Nigeria is less than nothing. Who knows Nigeria if Igbos aren't there trying to make it what it is. But backward north, delusional south are the ones taking it way back because of this factors, religion and ethnicity. This is the reason, we want to have a Biafra with groups who want equality, and prosperity for all. Not groups that love to gamble with politics or make themselves feel important when there's nothing to show for it. |
