My Travel Experience & Visa On Arrival by henrychubayo: 5:07pm On Mar 21, 2012
I am living permanently in south africa. Few days ago, i made a short trip to nabouring country mozambique. My reasons are not that i loved the country but that i wish to increase my travel history(a very kind advice from a visa consultant) cause many countries consider these as a very strong reason that you will come back to your country of residence nor matter the country you went to. I will cut the story short. After about 4 our from johannesburg, we reached the border. I was a bit scared not for south africa but for mozambique cause they don't speak english but portuguse. I was stamped out of south africa in a fews minutes and i proceeded to mozambique very scared. As i got there, i told the immigration official that i wish to visit mozambique. They asked me in poutuguese some questions, but as soon as i hear passport, i brought out mine passport and gave them. As soon as the lady saw nigeria passport, she started shaking her head in disapproval. I was scared and very indeed and i reason how i can reason or convince they lady. As i stood there, i saw an american citizen got his visa without any question just because he is an american. I wondered why nigeria should be taken as common as these by many small african countries we can give food. So she told me to wait and collected my passport with yellow paper to the boss inside the main office. I was very scared because i have made a long trip to this place and wish not to return back just because am a nigerian. While i wait, my fellow passengers all mozambiquecans came after they have waited for me for up to 30 to an hour about these. When they arrive( 2 matured men), they asked me the problem, i told them that i wish to visit mozambiqaue for vacation and i don't know what these ppl are tekking me. Immidiatly, they spoke to the lady in their language and ask her to give me the visa that i am with them. One thing that saved me is that this lady probably did not understand what they men ask me in english. She went inside again and bring out my passport and gave me a form to fill. The men collected the form and ask me where am going in mozambique, i really don't know any place but one of them fill the form with his address and contacts and ask me to pay 675 rands(13500 naira) there to be issued the visa. I payed
Faced a camera and picture was taken finger print also taken and within 2 minutes, visa was issued to me for a single trip of 30 days. I reached there and ppl cheat me alot just because i don't hear the langaage. I was very happy with one man called jobe from there who assisted me in finding cheap hotel and where they sell nigerian food. When i got there, i saw many nigerian guys doing business there. I stayed 2 days and ran back to south africa where am living. I was very happy with the visa anyway because no country that has embassy in abuja will give you visa without any requirement but only the fees for processing. But why nigerians should be treated that way really mavels me. Again, i noticed that their money is greater than our niara but abuja its like a london to the place called maputo. My ppl, anyone who can, visit some small countries and make a travel history for your passport so that we all can use it to catch the big fish or maybe the next time you come to MMIA lagos, no immigration officer will mess up with you. Thanks all and that is the end of my story.

Hi bro, i am coping well. The depotation really didn't affect guys inside. But i will like to make some points for guys who wish to come here for stay. Information is very vital if you are to successed here. First, when making visa application to the embassy, i suggest you make a direct application and pay the repatriation fees in 9ja cause you will definately use the receipt here if you want to change your visa status to temporary resident permit. If you didn't pay in 9ja, it will cost you more here to pay the fees. If you plan to work here, don't just think about it cause it is very hard. The reason is that many many sa citizens are unemployed. Doing business here is much better. If you arrange a work permit here for a company, its invalid to use it to work in another company unlike other countries. Its advisable to have available money cause you can use it to do good and legal business here. The problem with many 9ja guys is that they don't have money. Infact i will write you with the email you drop here. But you can drop some questions here cause many other can equally learn from it.

You certainly have good legal business to do hear if you have money. Some buy small accident cars from scrap, repair and sell and make their money sharp sharp. Others go to europe and load container of used clothes called okarika and sell(so much money if you have contact and money). Other buy fast food joint like KFC for 1.5 million rands but will certainly make it after some time. Other have shops where they sell food items imported from nigeria. Others buy houses in auction very cheap repair and sell. Others register as agents with home affairs and do permit for fellow 9ja guys and make their money legal and cool. Other things that move here is craft work. Here they don't have good tailor and no wonder they don't where african clothes like abada, lacce, linen, etc (the african clothes worn by sabc staff of more than 1000 people was made by a nigerian). Furniture, welding work goes well here. So my bro for now, these are some business one can do here without any problems. There are minor business here that can give you big money but the country can never allow you do that since most of their citizen are unemployed mostly blacks.

My brother, we live to assist one another. I will give you the best info as far as am concern. If you can play football very well, you will excel here. The league is very very organise and pays very well provide you are a good player. Also you chances of going to europe from here is 90 if you play well. So many good things about their league. Insured, security, prompt payment, televised live both in europe with dstv, good environment and better equipment to train. Plz, try and get the visa yourself and make sure to pay the repatration fees cause you will really use the receipt here when making application for work permit. If you use an agent, he may not pay this fees and when you come here, you will still pay it. Believe me, any type of permit is easy to get here than outside SA. Agents here or you yourself can do it sharp sharp if you can get the requirements and no denial so far instead, they reject taking your application. We live to help.

One 9ja guy who works as a security man in one big company here was giving a 10 years visa by u s embassy in south africa. The embassy here gives 10 visiting visa to genuine travelers cause they don't want ppl to be coming to the embassy daily unlike in nigeria.

Bandie, american embassy in south africa gives 10 years visas to applicants. The embassy tends to aviod over crowding at the premises unlike the ones we have in nigeria. This means that applicants who gets the visa has no need to visit the embassy again for 10 years unless for other consular matters. It sounds interesting isn't it? Also if a nigerian have a house in south africa, and possess the permanent resident status, the visa is guaranteed. Am speaking from a confirmed source

The problem is from our nigerian government they don't think about we the massed they only think about themselves. After producing n paid for ur visa either they denied some1 for a visa or they delayed the visa but why is this repartation fee do american our other europian countries ask of these repartattion why are we africans so wicked to ourselves. Though my passport is stil been delayed at the s.a embassy lagos bt my own case wil nt b like that cos God said with him al this are possible God shal surely make a way for me.

Relax tony because you will get your visa. If i should calculate very well, its more than 2 months you applied for south african visa and still no response from them. Its really very disappointing from them. Other embassies in 9ja will hold your latest one month. They may have been using this strategy to delay some ppl and eventually reject them visa if the main purpose if the visit have passed. When i applied to south africa visa for the first time at their embassy in maitama abuja, the VO after checking my documents asked me whether i can pay the repatriation fees that day so that i can pick up the visa in after 1 day, i paid and i pick it up not more than 2 days but i don't know what is wrong with them now especially since they started using agents for submission. As for the repatriation fees, nigeria embassy here also request it from them. But if all documents are good, no need to panic cause they will issue you visa. But i wonder, to get a temporary residence permit here of about 2 years takes not more than one month, why will an ordinary visa of 3 months take that long? Its really an eye opener for those who wish and who may apply in the future to apply on time. But i assure you, yours will be ready soon.

My ppl, i just want to pass this vital information. If you are going to another country by land, make sure you get the legal arrival entry so that your departure will be in peace. A group of nigerians want to go to mozambique for a business. Already, they made late with the appointment the white man give them, trying to make up with the lost time, the ask the driver to speed up. When the reach the south african border, they opted to move on in order to meet up with the time instead of first getting the departure stamps in their passports. They were arrested in mozambique border simply because they had no departure stamps from SA. They were taking back to immigration agents in south african border who thought those guys have committed a serious crime and was running away. They were arrested there, but was later released after some hours but there passport were ceased. Out of them all, only one person later collected his passport after 8 months after he had spend some much time and money gathering documents to prove his innocence. Advice, don't make this mistake. Enter legaly and depart legaly.

You can ask any question you have and we try to answer it. As for the yellow fever issue, don't worry, cause no such deportation now. But i urge you to get it in the state ministry of health to avoid delay or query or fine concerning that but no deportation. Contact the club first to have them prepare 4 you. Nigerians playing here are very rich cause they pay very well.

For me, johannesburg is the best. In joburg or jozzy, you will survive easily. Also, in other cities, foreigner could easily be attack or killed because of jealous of the local ppl on the progress or money you make but not in joburg. It has almost everything you need in this country.

Have you already gotten the visa or are you still going to apply because i don't understand what you mean by visa fees if you already have the visa. Clear me more. Air tickets is as follows, Arik airline should be 100k or less but SAA is about 120k.

If you will depend on the individual, you need the person to provide you with his/her bank statement in addition to yours. But if you have enough money in your account, don't mind using the person statement of account. If the person want to sponsor you, he should send this documents: invitation letter sighed by him, sworn affidavit that he will sponsor you in police station here in south africa, bank statement with official bank seal and signature, copy of I D or passport certified in police station. With these and other documents from you, you don't need an agent to do the visa but you may pay the repatriation fees
