Try dey think before you type. Everyone knows that we won’t live forever. For the healthy person, their cause of death can hardly be predicted. For the ss person, you almost know right from the time of birth. Add to it the pains and sufferings that are certain with ssd. The emotional and financial toll on the parents and sufferer of ssd. The quality of life that all parties involved will have.
Is it really worth it? Knowing that this is avoidable.

This case be like person wey Dey see food chop normally for Lagos, them call am say make he trek come Kano come dig soakaway and them no go pay am so him must trek go back Lagos. Make e come talk say because all work na work, him Dey trek go Kano.

Check am

Genotype or no genotype, everybody will be gone soon. Tell me one AA that has never tasted death? Before you came to this Earth God has ordained you before when you will be born and when you will die. Genotype doesn't determine that.

Guess they are a family of SS.

This genotype stuff made me believe in the survival of the fittest.

Soon those with AS and SS will be without partners for procreation because AA wants to marry only AA.

But it is interesting to note that genotype isn't a topic of discussion when dating or marrying in the developed world.
the gene S is mostly see in Africa...the white man don't have that gene...the gene is said to have helped against Malaria that's why it is predominant in the African continent

This is the most ignorant and possibly moronic thing I ever read. Go and jump into a zoo with a lion then. Since God ordained you before you were born. This is why we say religion is not good for your health. The reason you think something so ridiculous is because you aren't suffering from sickle cell anemia yourself. If you had, you would have wished your parents made better decisions. SMH.

This is a different case bro. E pay make person born still birth than to born ss. Worse is to use stubborn head and ignorantly born ss.

Ss children go through a lot of pain, in they are hardly able to live a normal life cos they are really fragile, tired mostly and in the hospital often. This in turn affects the parents who will be also traumatized as they are on their toes often, anything could be a problem for their child, they have to leave work often cos they have to take care of their child at home or at the hospital, they hardly get adequate sleep cos person wey get ss pikin must Dey alert always, it is also financially draining. To conclude it all, except the parent die early, the parent will most likely witness the death of their child (some parents witness the death of up to 10 children before being lucky to have one with AS).

Now think of it. If this can be avoided, why not avoid it?

You can change your genotype through stem cell transplants.
Genotype Compatibility
Types of Genotype. The genotypes in humans are AA, AS, AC, SC, SS. They refer to the hemoglobin gene constituents on the red blood cells. ...
Compatible genotypes for marriage are: AA marries an AA. ...
Solution. The only thing that can change the genotype is the bone marrow transplant (BMT).
You missed that.

Blacks are the most susceptible race to Sickle Cell Anemia with occurrence as high as 4% in some population.

People with sickle cell trait can be found most heavily in areas of the world that have malaria. This is because sickle cell trait can protect a person from becoming infected with malaria.
