This black soot issue has been running for years now. Emperor Wike has turned a blind eye to it but is rather building fly overs in PH.
My heart goes out to those living there.

I think you guys should try wearing nose mask regularly.. At least it will reduce the rate at which you guys inhale the soot.

Cuz too much inhaling of that soot of a thing could cause lung cancer in the long run
How does one sleep with nose mask on. The stuff is worse at night

This is getting longer than it should. Wike has to do something about this or be held accountable.

This is how a responsible government should behave.

So, to answer your question, yes, black soot can be dangerous and even fatal to some people. ... When in the body, soot particles can cause coronary heart disease, breathing issues, including asthma, and even cancer. Those most affected by soot include infants, the elderly, and those with prevailing breathing conditions

I live in PH. I called professional cleaners to tidy up the whole place when I thought I didn't do enough clean myself. The black sooth is still everywhere after a day.

A sneeze in a clean white handkerchief will show you the kind of bad air we inhale here.

I can imagine.

The government haven't said anything about this have they? All I see on TV and social media is Wike using the commissioning of projects to lambaste the APC government.

I want to even ask if the projects he's commissioning, if it's not people that will use it.

It is a terrible thing, the government is not doing anything about it. The people are crying but nothing is being done.

Nigerian info is currently talking about it.

There's no problem here. Igbos and MNK are the problem, did you forget? The evil that men support will eventually get to their own door steps in due course. Do NOT forget that Nigeria is a turn by turn limited. This is just the beginning of the environmental catastrophe that's about to render that area uninhabitable. Keep supporting your ONE NIGERIA until you die in the process!

Just pack your luggages , port to another state , start a new life there ..and stop complaining.

You expect over a million inhabitants of the city to just pack their loads to another state? How is that possible

We won't celebrate a flyover or criticize murders today? Those are the only news Port Harcourt is known for in this forum. If you like your health you better move out because the government doesn't care for you or your family.

The security agencies, traditional rulers and even the governor are benefitting from the illegal bunkering that's causing the soot. That's why they aren't doing anything.

Me too. While I was working there for 3 years I constantly kept falling sick. Since my company transferred me to HQ in Lagos 2 years ago I hardly fall sick anymore. The air pollution in that city is something else.

They will only act if the soot is from oyinbo country and those countries want to share money

See the soles of my 2years old son. The room was mopped a night before the morning this pictures were taken. He never came outside or to the veranda.

We live in Port Harcourt and this is our condition of living. The government is not doing enough. The ministry of health and environment don’t seem to exist here. We are celebrating flyovers, which is not bad, but are they not built for these humans that have been left to their fate to die? Hm!

Everyone is coughing here.
What are you waiting for. Get TF out of that place nah. Whats this BS about governemnt? If government does nothing you will keep risking the lives of your loved ones.
I never see this kind madness before
