Lol, I think the bolded is too hard on Arteta without looking at context.

One, Auba left because he wasn't feeling to be here again. In his last days here, He's not putting his body to score not that he wasn't even getting the chances. Lacazette on the other hand, everyone knows he hardly scores. Most of our games I noticed this past few weeks I noticed he's always hiding when he should have make a dashing run to score. Last match was even worst, especially that chances that Pepe unfortunately missed from a square ball by Saka. I was looking for Laca and I saw him hugging the other post far away from the action and that's just only one example from the numerous examples.

A good striker that can score will score in this system. Don't use Auba decision to leave arsenal or Laca lack of goal threat to judge Arteta's system
We were harder on Emery remember. What's with the feel on being soft on Arteta?

Under Emery 2nd season, we weren't seeing the light again. Not only were we playing poorly, we were also having Leno to thank for always keeping the scorelines respectable. Our midfield was express way, all the players lost form. I don't remember many people being hard on Emery during his first season.

Arteta on the other hand, we were initially hard on him but now we've seen improvements as our plays have improved.

I watch our games mostly and I know Lacazette positioning and hunger to get to the end of things is very very poor. Even Nketiah I was even against looks far more threatening most times he comes on. I know it's not because Laca lacks chances that's why he's on a goal drought, on the contrary, he seems to hide himself when chances are been presented. Na the main reason why I don do U-turn for Laca matter cos as he isn't even involving himself in other plays and can't even score goals, then Nketiah needs to replace him asap.

I believe we'll see more goals with a good striker than Lacazette

What is this news I am reading about Xavi and Barcelona planning a summer bid for Gabriel Magalhaes?

Why?
There is no way he will replicate that madrid feat with this current arsenal team. Before you hire Zidane, your team has to be a ready made one and some of your players must be individually brilliant.

Whatever imaginary illness will make Arteta bench him in the next match is Ok by me. He needs some time off.

Shout out to Atletico Madrid! That's pure first class attitude and mentality to a game where much is at stake. If only our players realize what is at stake and the manager prepares them for that purpose. It was a joy to see a team completely against all odds put thier inner strength on display against a much fancied opponent.

From 1st to Second to 3rd phase of each half was pure class especially the second half where they tipped the balance of control in thier favour forcefully.

Ha, God when for Arsenal oh....

Guess we have seen this movie over and over again and unless a miracle, it may be another long saga that Arsenal may eventually lose out on

How can you Stan atlectico after the negative football in the first leg
The truth is they only played a good half out of 4 halves, is that good enough
By your analysis of first and 2nd 15minutes don't you think you are contradicting yourself because ATM didn't play shit over the 2 legs they only came out in the 2nd half of the 2nd leg

Biereth might be in the squad this weekend..

He is 6'1... Can we try some cross and nod?

Frankly speaking, we're playing against Southampton so a 10-minute cameo won't be a bad idea. We're at a desperate time right now

Well yes the first Leg was outright negative and not worth the 20 mill Diego is being paid but it was the response in the second leg of the tie I praised. The second leg especially in the second half was absolutely great.

A bit nervous in the first half but they managed to absord the early pressure and sustained albeit without the balance of play in thier favour.

Not saying ATM in the next best thing but just pointing out the response in lieu of what was at stake.

As concerns Arsenal, players need to understand what is at stake here and respond accordingly. Don't we have academy players at Saka's level that we can draft in for this crucial run towards the end of the league?

I'm struggling to understand the instructions given to Laca. If he is to play the CF role, then he should be doing more shuttles in and around the 18yard rather than coming way outside the yard into midfield to get into play.

Unless it's what the manager has instructed , then it's not helping his game at all. I remember when Laca was in Lyon and was playing the CF role with aplumb but it seems either he is asked to play it differently or he lacks the fitness levels to do those runs in and around.

A CF must have pure instinct and technique before anything else, fitness and understanding of the role may alter performance but ultimately the instinct and technique will prevail if consistent.

I can understand why we wanted that guy that went to Juve. The guy is something else with technique and instinct.

Well it all goes back to the board and the decision to let Auba go without getting a decent backup. It's a shame really and unless Laca just finds form out of nowhere then it's a long road

He is too inexperienced.

We have Nketiah and Martinelli to try out before the academy lad

Arsenal was genuinely interested in Vlahovic but he preferred Juventus and they capitalised on it and hijacked the deal. This is why I am not going to be too hard on the board, coupled with the fact that signing just anybody will be worse than not signing at all.

As for Lacazette, I blame Jodera. undecided

Nketiah wey be off and on now is better for us now. At least Laca Don totally off for the past 3 weeks or more.

Let Nketiah play 9, if it doesn't too work out then Martinelli should take over the 9. Arteta just need to be proactive and tactical

I feel that's the bolded. Lacazette is hardly a box that shuttles around in and around the box. He always love to involve himself In things. Also I think his fitness level is not that great. Wenger mostly sub him when he was our coach while Emery makes him hardly completes 90min. Also you note that Ligue 1 is different from premier League in terms of intensity during Laca time there

I think what Arteta is doing is that his just trying to maximize the best out of Lacazette by just telling him to do what he does best (linking up play and pressing from front) while the goalscoring is shared between him and his co-attackers.
Unfortunately, Laca forgot his duties as 9 and also what he's supposed to do.

I won't blame Arteta for wanting to make Laca being a creator as well as goalscoring after all that's how Kane became more rounded and what Pep initially asked of Aguero. Just that seems not to fit the bill again plus his at the Wrong side of age.

I raise my hands up now for his matter, we need another person even if na Nketiah or Martinelli. Maybe bench 2-3weeks go reset am

Based on the quote below, the rumors about the Barcelona links are definitely true and may get hotter by the end of the season.

Gabriel Magalhaes on Barcelona links: “I feel at home at Arsenal. It’s a great squad to be a part of and together I am sure we can achieve a lot. I am very happy here”. He’s only focused on Arsenal - no talks with Barça as of today, his priority is UCL race now.....Fabrizio Romano
