What makes a club? The quality of players, manager, fans or all? More often than not, it is the first two. The place of the third will forever be special. Clubs, like kingdoms rise and fall and the current United team is beneath Ronaldo, considering the glorious career and successes he has enjoyed and had. NO ONE IN THE UNITED TEAM CAN MATCH THE QUALITY OF PLAYERS AND TEAMMATES HE’s PLAYED WITH OVER THE YEARS (both at the old United and Real Madrid).

It was bad enough enough that THE Ronaldo would miss out on Champions League and follow a team with the likes of Maguire into Europa and play week in week out but get benched and relegated to the classic time waster who comes on at the 86th minute. Ronaldo wanted to leave at the summer but got repeated reassurances from ETH that he was a crucial part of his plan only to bench him.

There are only two players on the planet that are bigger than most clubs and this is not coming from a place of bias or sentiment. The likes of a manager such as ETH managing someone as Ronaldo is even ridiculous; a player with richer Champions League experience than the person acting as coach or manager is just crazy. Unfortunately, that is the reality of clubs such as United that has fallen from grace.
If you are no bigger than your employer, then Ronaldo is not bigger than Man United. It’s a wrong thing to say bro…..no player is bigger than a club no matter their achievements.

Motivated at what age please? You people should stop feeding his ego. Ronaldo is gone past his prime. It's sunset for him. Let it sink.

Something is seriously wrong with Ronaldo fanboys... I have said it over and over again!

How do you idolize a person to the point of being blind to his faults and failings?!! That's the height of stupidity!

United is not in the best of hands right now, they haven't been in a good while, but that doesn't mean anyone should completely pull down the club just to feed his ego! What happens to the other players putting in serious efforts every week?!! It's childish and wrong!

Well, what is my own... I did warn them all about bringing that man in last season. I'm even amused that they are in shock! grin

Without Ronaldo, Ole would still have a job... And United would have done better last season, with more consistency onwards!

Na una know Sha... Let me first watch Portugal closely this world cup, and wait for fresh excuses these fanboys will come up with if or when Portugal is trounced at the group or knockout stages. tongue

Hypocrisy is you lying and bashing Messi for wanting to leave then turn around to defend Ronaldo for his misconduct.

Messi requested to leave but he acted like a professional. He never left the pitch before final whistle neither did he fail to resume for pre season because his transfer request was rejected by the club.

Go and watch the interview before spewing trash.. If you don't have data just beg me to give you. Someone's daughter was almost dying from an illness and you expect him to resume for preseason. Ode!

You lack social intelligence

You don’t know what social cues are.

Actions & words are not the same.

People can fool you with words but their actions reveal their true intentions.

You obviously didn’t watch a ton of Man Utd games last season to see when he was occasionally mimicking/mocking OGS

It trended on Twittr several times.

Suddenly he respects him because the goals have dried up & OGS’s football style favoured
him.

Grow up & always try to look at things from an objective lens.

Messi insulted a whole comebol and nothing happened
rather they gave him an unusual tournament schedule to appease him and also help him lift an international trophy.

listen to me Ronaldo would have worked with Pep very well after all he worked with all managers in Madrid and Zidane always praise him.
what happened in United was that Ronaldo saw their project and saw that they have no future plans hence he never respected the project.
imagine having the likes of Fred Mactomany maguire etc as teammates what courage will you have.
Pep have a very great project both now and future and had it been Ronaldo came, he'll respect the project because the club has been progressing before you and will do after you.
his teammates will boost his morale.
imagine playing alongside with KDB, Gundogan, Rodri, Cancelo, Foden, Bernardo, etc.
Ronaldo is an ambitious player and always hungry for success.
what he saw in United are bunch of unserious person just sitting and eating wages weekly.
look at the calibre of players playing with Messi Mbape and co. that alone is very encouraging.
Messi for example lost his cool with Barcelona and wanted out but was blocked by then Barcelona president.
why ?
Barcelona project was starting to look directionless hence he wanted to try a better club.
that's what top players do and not Ronaldo thing alone.

What drove him away from Madrid?!!

What drove him away from Juventus?!!... What makes him jump ship everytime things begin to go South?!!

Every club faces issues from top to bottom... This is how football has become!

A tough and loyal player will make effort to transform or work the process for better! Ibrahimovic returned to Milan and won Scudetto with them... Other top players have done it for their clubs against all odds. Not running away when things start declining... That's the footprint of a MERCENARY!

You need to quit twisting Messi and Barcelona issue to suit your poor submission please! Every one knows why Messi had to painfully leave Barcelona, it was all over the news abeg!

...And for the umpteenth time, Man City was among top clubs that outrightly rejected Ronaldo (Bayern, PSG, etc)! Pep had absolutely no plans for him! Let's quit this lame gist abeg!

Boss, I don't even have issues with the guy... He is naturally narcissistic and egotistical! Someone that finds it hard to celebrate with team mates outscoring him in games... I even heard he hasn't congratulated Benzema for winning Ballon D'Or (might be wrong)!

I have no issues with arrogant people... It's every man's choice to be humble or proud! Your life, your choice!

My issue remains with his fanboys! Mostly the hungry ones here in this Third world nation! They are even twisting facts to paint United and Ten Hag ugly just to make a declining player look good or better than he actually is! Like WTF?!!

Messi, Ibrahimovic, Dzeko, etc, are all players in progressive stages of decline... This is the simple cycle of existence! Why should it be different for Ronaldo?!! Na wa o!

Well, next week no far again... Let Portugal start their games. I wan check something! Let me see and hear who they will blame in the coming weeks: the coach, midfield players, or defenders... Maybe they will blame fifa this time around!

Yeah right... Fabio knows more than the clubs who rejected Ronaldo publicly or more than coaches like Pep who categorically stated they didn't need him!

Not your fault jare... If Ole had grown a pair last season and done the needful, you all would have neglected the results and called for his head! It doesn't matter to you that United wins or doesn't lose games, all you care about is that they must respect your idol even at the detriment of structure and results!

When he was forcing his way out of United because of lack of champions league he didn't disrespect United Right?

no he didn't because he warned the club to get new players or get they act right so they qualify for the champions league they refused to listen. So after that warning and yet no major changes u expect him to stay?

Ronaldo knows the level of those players can't win tough competitions they need to revamp the squad and that's what ten hag tried to do b4 these little improvements which is still not good enough.

despite this Ronaldo still stayed bt what did he get? petty insults and disrespect.

Ronaldo is not the first unhappy player to request for transfer. At Barcelona, Ibrahimovic had it tough with Pep but he never took out his frustration on the entire club.

Ronaldo is one of the best to wear Man U Jersey and also one of the greatest ever…… His ties with Man U is strong that’s why he should never have acted the way he did.

Liverpool went through 30 years without any EPL trophy, can't remember any time something like this happened. Which club hasn't gone through period of crisis? If you feel its OK to criticize your employer while also collecting 500k every week is good, then you need your brain checked.

The most stupid of the lots are those saying football would forget Haag but would always remember Ronaldo. How senseless can you get? A player disrespected his manager countless times, yet claims he's not being respected. I would probably have to quit this club if Ronaldo remains.

Same savior Ronaldo was playing last season, but then he didn't remember that everything was the same since he was 20. Now he's not playing and he's suddenly a historian. I blame OGS for bringing him back in the first instance.

No guarantee that Osimhen will score those chances too... even the greatest of the greats will not score 10 out of 10.... for an attack to be solid , the team wud hv to create about minimum of 7 clear chances , then at least 2 or 3 goals should be scored , if there are very lucky, it cud hit 5 ... thats how football works ... Manchester don't create more than 3 or 4 chances ( not even clear cut chances)

A team that have only scored 2 goals from corner kicks since 2021 shows how bad they really are

I get your point that the fluidity is not yet there.

But let’s believe that Ten Hag is still working on the team and that with time they will reach their highest potential.

But they still need a striker to do that.

No he won't. This is a man instrumental in bringing the last UCL title ever won. This is a man who was the top scorer last season in the club with 24goals. If he has has had a slump this season, it is because he has been in a wrong place mentally and that is the reason for this interview. He has to clear his head. Only then can he concentrate on football. Ronaldo has never been the problem. Maguire and McFred was the problem last season. This season, Ronaldo isn't motivated. A motivated Ronaldo would move mountains. Every Manchester United fan knows that.

Ronaldo was instrumental in what exactly?!!.. What were the other players then doing?!! Sleeping?!!

You guys are the main reasons why a lot of people now despise Ronaldo!

Go and ask about De Laurentis…. He is the toughest negotiator in Europe. If he says Osimhen is not leaving, forget it and if he decide to sell at all, Man U go pay through their nose. If he says a player is 100m, even if you offer 97, him no go answer you. He did same to Hamsik, Cavani and Koulibaly that’s why he stayed at Napoli till he was 33. He blatantly refused to drop Koulibaly’s 100M asking price. Same with Hamsik…… Cavani was lucky cos PSG paid his full asking price.

Another tough person to negotiate deals with is Daniel Levy of Tottenham.

Head or tail, I don’t see De Laurentis holding on to Osimhen beyond next Summer especially when you recall that Real Madrid is interested in Osimhen too (if that report is true).

Refusing to sell might see Napoli losing Osimhen to free transfer which I’m sure he wouldn’t want.

I’m not conversant with Osimhen’s contract but I don’t think it runs beyond 2024.

His daughter was hospitalised around the time United were on a pre-season tour. No sane man will honour one useless club over family. Rooney has said so many ridiculous things about him while he kept quiet. "Eric the Hag" kept saying Ronaldo was part of his plan even when the player was trying to move away from the club. In the end, he got relegated to the bench. We get it, he is old and not as young as he used to be, which is all the more reason United should have let him go but no. ETH never respected him but when he says he does not respect him either, it becomes an issue.

I hate to be the one to say this but Cristiano Ronaldo is bigger than Manchester United just like Messi is bigger than the current Barcelona. Players are humans and can be unhappy when things are not in place. It's like wanting away from your everyday job. Just because your branch manager love your work ethic doesn't mean you shouldn't leave when job satisfaction is not there. Casemiro wanted to leave Madrid and he is still loved by Madridistas. It is only in England that wantaway players are regarded as betrayers.

Because everyone knows that Wan Bissaka is solid at the back just that his crosses are shitty.

In my perspective, Wan Bissaka doesn’t deserve the treatment Ten Hag is giving him because whatever his weakness is can be worked on. Coaches help players develop and become better; that’s why they are there in the first place.

I think he's child health and loss of a child really affected him mentally and emotionally because the club didn't show respect or concern. During the preseason, his daughter was hospitalized and the club think he was using that as an opportunity to leave. That really hurt him deeply.

Let's not run with one side of a story... The club has not released any statements, neither did his coach.

Ronaldo fanboys don't even want to see a damn thing from the side of the coach or club... This is so wrong! What does the coach stand to gain from putting Ronaldo down?!! What will humiliating and destroying Ronaldo add to his resume?!!
Why should a coach, any coach at all, be compelled to field a player for every game even when others can do better just because he has a "legendary" status?!!
