I greet u all my fellow Nairalanders! people refer to this country as a land of opportunities business wise but I'm yet to find those hidden opportunities. I have done business for a few number of years now tho poor start up capital but nothing to show for it. I believe strongly that two heads are better than one. Perhaps that which we could not see as single individuals might be unveiled here. let's talk business guys. let's talk ourselves into new opportunities.

I don't think there is anything absolutely new under this sun. therefore, the main idea behind this call is that we may learn how to do the same old businesses in some impressive new ways as this is certain to give us degrees of competitive advantages. if i knew it all, maybe i wouldn't have time to be here and i believe i am not the only one with such shortcomings but together we are giant. little by little, we could make out something unique here. it might suit us to call this body "online business club" or any other name u deem fit, the important thing is that we actualize our dreams. thanx again!

I like this topic. Don't relent. It will be a successful team. I can picture a group of pple having periodic business meetings & forming creative and profitable biz. They come from different fields. Pls continue. What are ur plans? Do u want pple 2 just talk or u want biz to be formed? I think pple will like tangibl results. mere talk will not suffice.

Look closely. There are opportunities everywhere. The problem with most of us is that we follow what other people do instead of looking out for human problems and proffering solutions to them. These solutions could be tangible or intangible, new products to solve existing problems or an improved version of existing products.Look very closely in your environment. There has got to be a gap,a need yearning for you to innovate a product to fill.

First of all you must have the positive mindset that opportunity actually exist in Nigeria, you must also believe that Rome was not built in a day, so in any business you are entering into what perspective are you bring into the business? what home work have you done? maybe the time you switch off to other business was actually going to be your boom time, secondly what new innovation are you adding to the business? what gives your business an advantage over your competitors? i think the way to go about this is to bring your previous business to the forum let Xray it and see possible ideas that can make it stand out .

For people in PH who are ready to brain storm and share ideas and opportunities. Lets try and schedule a time or place we can meet one on one and exchange ideas. I am into a biz and I wont mind sharing with other people and also learning new biz opportunity from others too. PH guys what do you think?

Nice thread and kudos to the creator. I am looking at actively engaging in some businesses so a forum like this to brainstorm and share ideas is highly necessary.

The importance of marketing in the success of a business cannot be over-emphasized.That is the reason marketing is considered as a line activity instead of a staff. Most businesses spend money on marketing activities that do not yield positive results. To avoid that mistake, you should identify who your prospective customers are, their population, beliefs, buying habits, occupation, lifestyle, age and every other important demographics.

Secondly, ask yourself these questions:What print media do they read?Do they read newspapers or magazines? If it's magazines, what niche? Is it fashion, health or business magazines? What do they listen to?Where do they visit?Do they use handsets?Do they watch TV?If yes, what time do they watch TV?Which online forum do they patronize?Facebook,Twitter? How will they prefer to be reached? If you can provide sincere answers to the questions, you will be good to go with your marketing.Cheers

Yea if we really want to we can sure network.

The reasons why I was talking about people in PH is based of trust and logistics. I have a lot of biz stuffs that I have already done feasibility studies, some that I have actually gotten involved in, there are just too many of them. From Haulage, to supply of kerosene to petrol stations, to supply of apple (this one is a money spinner, if you want to network with me, lets do this.)

If you are in lagos, and you are ready to partner with me on the apple business, i'm in for you. I'll tell you where to get it, how to transport it from cotonou to lagos to Ph. All that will matter is your time and dedication. there are a whole lot of things.

I want to meet people I can benefit from too and thats why I wanted to meet people in ph one-on-one.

there have to be enough interested people in PH before a venue and time can be fixed you know
Re: Guys, Let's Talk Business by rightlagos: 5:03am On Aug 28, 2012
We Lagosians can meet anywhere close to ikeja, d capital of Lagos. I suggest we meet September ending after publicity & mobilisation. But I can sense a potential conflict of interest. I mean, if an MLM guy wants all of us 2 do MLM or a forex guy or a cement distributor, which does not fit my interest. So what I suggest is dat we have to do it on d basis of interest. We say, this is MLM group. Investment Group. Manufacturer Group. As we have betonmarkets, forex, bankers etc on nairaland. So, it will be a meeting of like-minded pple.

Impressive contributors: that is what you are. The beauty of number is beginning to manifest and I can announce most confidently that with God on our side, this organization (on the verge of existence) will bring forth the worthy ideas we have for long waited for.
I want to thank you all in a very special way for your time given towards the sustainability of this thread. I actually had an intensive project. So intensive that I literally sacrificed every moment of relaxation. Happy tho that the project is accomplished now, I'm therefore, here to give full attention to your good and creative comments. It feels good to see that you have already started discussion on how to organize meetings. This is a clear demonstration of passion. Let me say it again that I'm proud of what you have done so far. If we continue with good determination, passion and understanding among ourselves, there is no limit to what we can achieve as a group - money itself shall be one of the credence attributable to our unanimous attainment. Cheers!!!

Time has come for us to demonstrate our commitment. I need one volunteer who can take care of correspondence and collection of data. let us boost our focus by creating a defined orientation. when the volunteer is indicated, we will then discus on how he/she can manage our correspondence. thnx
