Ok, after a year from my last post here, and taking more time with other OS, I guess I had to change my comment a bit.. yes, a bit.. seriously speaking, d later symbian OS bears d resemblance of a Droid as far as UI is concerned so u will quickly catch up porting from either OS. However, depending on which device u'r running android on, u will find the droid UI, widget and other features so interesting in such a way that u won't wanna touch your symbian device no more. The droid's polished interface indeed made Symbian look like.. eh, Nokia has got some works to do if they really wanna compete with other leading OS... Maybe that was why they embraced windows. The later generation of symbian really tried, but you will surely feel complete and satisfied with Android than any other OS |

hmmmmm!!! Nice post by all of you. This issue is just about choice. If you want a clean, easy to operate, average application phone, fancy and good screen display phone then go for nokia belle. If you are a deep nokia belle user, u will see there are many apps for nokia belle bt nt up to andriod. Andriod is an application phone bt not pretty in hand. Belle is a pretty phone e. Nokia c7, 603, 701, 700 even touch and type like e6. hack your belle and enjoy it. Nokia is good andriod is good it depends on choice and taste. 1 Like |

could not stop laughing wen I read some post.,those who support symbian are still using symbian shikina,..having handled every symbian that is from the v1 to the belle fp1...not handled d fp2....currently using 4.22 jelly bean android is wrestling with p.c o.s em not symbian,.hacks and cracks on smbian?? did em all but android gives u d full power of open source.... wide range of apps .personalization to the later....the best of gaming simulation.... u contribute to app development and update with your review and is up to date with the tech world etc |

Lord_Reed: Hmmm... Ok I dint say android is stupid, but for now u guys don't have reasonable apps... Here are some... 1. I've not seen any1 change his/her operator logo on android 2. We still have much more tunnel apps... D only1 I've seen 4 android so far is droidproxy... 3. There is 1 app called file2pic or so... U can hide/put a file in a picture... 4. And if u are a familiar with php, we have a server 4 it, n it works fine with all scripts, and android's own is wack...seen like 3 of em dat malfunctions 5. N most symbian^3 phones comes with fm transmitter... I can be playing a music n u'll be hearing it on radio Dose are d 1s I can tink of right now, at least I tried, u mention urs... firstuserdami: In answer to your points: 1. Changing operator logo is very possible in Android for those who care for it. 2. Android comes with inbuilt VPN. 3. There are many file and app hiders for Android. 4. I am not familiar with php so can't really answer that. 5. FM transmitter is not an app it is hardware. Android Apps that are better than symbian apps 1. Full fledge documents, spreadsheet and powerpoint editors. 2. Dictionary apps. My offline dictionary pronounces the words. 3. Better photo and video editing apps. 4. Better and more fully featured web browsers ie HTML5 support. 5. Better email apps. 6. Better social media apps. 7. Better handwriting/drawing apps. 8. Better live/video wallpaper support. I am sure there is much more Android is better at than symbian. |

Lord_reed have u ever seen a symbian belle b4?... 2.I'm Not talk about vpn, Cos my symbian belle also has inbuilt vpn, about d file2pic ish I'm Not talking about hiding a file, Cos even java can do dat..i mean sumtin like sending a file through Whatsapp Cos its gonna be in a picture ... There's quick office for symbian dat can do d powerpoint ish and all ... Symbian inbuilt dictionaries pronounces d words too... In fact u fit switch voice, man or woman... All your photo editing apps, none is better dan idesigner on symbian ... Symbian belle's browser also supports html5 Alright i agree dat ur social networks apps are beta symbian has inbuilt video editor, Damn great... ... @firstuserdami You can argue all you want but the makers of symbian know they can't compete anymore. Nokia has given up on symbian and is ending official support come January 2014, if that doesn't make you pause and think then no matter what I say you will keep arguing. |

Like Seriously, this thread keeps growing? Now am LMAO. 2013 is almost gone, can't believe people are still debating on a Droid and a Symbian. I really dont get.. The Symbian fan boys Are u obsessed with the Nokia devices itself or you are in love with the Symbian OS you are running? If it is the phone - Then i must admit Nokia manufacturers have really got good hardware engineers working their azz off to give the very best, kudos, but why not get a newer nokia device with better OS, The Nokia Lumia devices runs on WindowsMobile and i feel it s ok If it is the symbian OS that freaks u, then my brother, i dunno what to say to u. Maybe u need to wake up to a new advanced system of setting up a smartphone operating system to meet the daily needs of consumers! 1 Like |

This thread was created in 2012 when Android was still a new kid on the bloc (at least here in Nigeria). I can bet most people that argued for symbian then (including my humble self) now owns a droid and opinions have changed. Android rocks After buying and using an android tablet, I decided to get a 1gig ram android phone and tune it down to function as a symbian (battery and data) I rooted it and installed Droidwall and Greenify and open access to only apps I used on symbian (ie Operamini, WhatsApp, Email), then I put the network on EDGE only. Result : I can use only free 15mb for 3 days full browsing and the battery last a whole day. This enables me to get the full android experience on my tablet and subscribe only for it while the phone keeps my access to chats and email on 24 hrs without charging 2 Likes |
