This grossly unfair if true

At least nobody’s organ was actually harvested

And he wrote to British Embassy and duly informed them of the purpose of his visit and they never advised him. Not like he sneaked into the UK to carry out the procedure

Nigeria should cut diplomatic ties with UK until this rubbish is reversed

Informing the British embassy is not the issue.

The issue is that the victim was not aware he was going to UK to donate his kidney.

Common sense is never common.
Hope you know that £11million can build a modern hospital.
Pls can you ask yourself how did the buy make such amount of money to buy such a mansion in UK? What is his source of income and wealth?
The UK govt will soon push its searchlight to money laundering cases of Nigerian politicians

Una think say God be like una wey go always support the oppressors over the oppressed.
Dey dia dey play.

The judge read out that the boy is living a solitary life in the UK now and he's even afraid to return back to Nigeria to avoid persecution from Ekweremadu sympathisers which the judge understood and agrees with.

How can you sentence a man that wrote to your embassy about his intention to take someone to UK for the purpose of organ donation.
The donor is not a minor.
What nonsense law do they practice in the uk

They lied that the boy was a relative and they were able to get the boy visa with their connections in Nigeria using false information.
Even though the donor isn't a minor, He is just 21 and they obviously were exploiting him.

In my opinion this is very embarrassing and a shame to Nigeria. It’s unacceptable and should be paid back in same kind. This action humiliates us as a people and shows the arrogance of the British people in their treatment of Africans. For god sake , Ekweremadu was a former Deputy Senate President of Nigeria and as such should have been accorded diplomatic treatment.

Keep quiet...you people are so used to corruption and injustice that when justice is served very fast you're surprised...UK is not Nigeria it's good for two of them

Diplomatic treatment my foot.

This should serve as a very big lesson to all politicians in Nigeria. If this can happen to the powerful Ike Ekweremadu, it can as well happen to any other person (politicians).
What Nigerians are demanding from these politicians is a better Nigeria, so tell me if Ike Ekweremadu had done the needful as the deputy senate president by setting up a standard hospital in Nigeria, do you think, this would have happened to him. What our politicians are interested in is their immediate interest and nothing more.
I keep on wondering what a politician in Nigeria will use 40 houses in all parts of the world to do. How many rooms will a politician sleep at a time, but , they are not bothered.
As Ekweremadu is now, am optimistic that he is regretting all that happened, but the question is will our politicians ever learn from this Ekweremadu saga.

1. Not a minor, agreed. Do you think if the boy was fully in the know of their plans & he gave his consent without any financial inducement, there would be any case?

2. The kind of nonsense laws that can attract & make your president experience an extended stay to the point he prefers to rule from there. Not to mention other Nigerians desperately seeking to be there.

Not every country condone lawlessness.

I'm sure they will appeal and still lose the case. I hope Nigeria is learning....they wouldnt have been convicted here, let alone sentenced. If only all lives are treated equally! How much of what they've stolen in Nigeria is worth their freedom now? Money that could have been put to good use in our hospitals.

Do not blame the Doctor.
He is the fool for sacrificing his long years of medical training for filthy lucre. He should know better and should have ran away from " all appearances of the devil".
On the part of the Oga, he was just trying to be clever by half. Half of the stress and funds could have gotten the job done in a less regulated India and some part of Asia.
