Exactly!!!
The danger here is that these same marketers are still going to increase the pump price after July, no be this Nigeria. Tinubu was too forward making this announcement. He should have waited till July, allowing marketers to exhaust their stock before bringing this up.
He's not wise at all

Lose everything?

Oil marketers are not gamblers, they never lose.
There is no hidden real market anywhere.
If NNPC as the current sole importer decide to jack up the landing cost,
the marketers will simply add it to the pump price which consumers have
no choice but to buy..

Your Tution Fees are Justified. Welldone.

So after selling old stock at old rate where will the fund to restock at new rate come from?

Nobody can be this mumu. Let me simplify it for you:

We bought at N3, we were selling at 4 but now we are suddenly selling same at 10, tripling our profit. That's money in the bank! If we decide to continue after selling out, we'd be like any other person just entering the market - we'd buy at the new price of 8 and sell at 10! How does that affect the profit we made when we bought at 3 and sold at 10??!!

I know the media can be used for propaganda but this have gone beyond that. This is crazy.

They just dish out figures to deceive the gullible.

The moment microphone was given to bulaba was when subsidy died.

Even importers still have to now pay triple for their next supply, same with retailers.

Your sense picked up towards the end of your post. The report was talking about their present stocks before subsidy removal was announced while you are talking about their NEXT supply

They would vomit it.

Just leave them, a time is coming when it would take them 3 weeks to sell one tanker of 45,000 litres.

Now I'm in my house with my family, no waka waka up and down like before. No need to burn fuel. I used to worship at Goshen Keffi Abuja Road but I've changed to Nyanya church. Children school would be changed next session. No more paying for school bus. Na so e be now. Let's see who dey buy fuel like before. Even my neighbor doesn't run Generator since Wednesday. I used to charge my phone there. Before he would tell you he couldn't sleep without fan on. I've not ask him why he hasn't been putting on his generator.

Lmao. Everyone’s adjusting to the lifestyle. I’ve seen myself taking strolls every evening now when I usually would take a therapeutic drive round town to clear my head. I don park car for a week now 😂😂.

I have also adjusted many thing and will be getting a solar panel fixed soon so that rules out the need for. My generator.

They’ll only just make us healthier cos we’ll all trek more and sweat out toxins. No be me and them go dey pay 500 for a litre unless I need the fuel to go on a journey

Subsidy removal takes full effect on them from July.....

Nobody said removal of subsidy will put them out of business. The only people that will be out of business are the marketers who lift subsidized fuel from the depot but divert it outside the country ..

freeborn02:
Shebi they said these same set of people are the ones benefiting from the subsidy?

They said removing subsidy will put them out of business.

How come they are growing richer while the common man grows poorer?

Its a win win for the markerters and they can never go bankrupt..they will always add their profit after expenses..

They will always make their gain from the customers which is me and you..

No he will buy the quantity he can afford…. And my brother, even if he takes loan, is loan to make money and pay from his profit….

What matter most is that, they made more money than they planned the las few days, so weda they spend it or not, the money is theirs and only make their cap bigger

And after buying at higher rate, will they sell at 65 naira? They will still sell at higher price to make profit. So what exactly is your point?

What has new product got to do with the profit they ALREADY made?? How u folks reason eh. Someone made N1B on a trade he just completed, he can decide to do WHATEVER he wishes with the money. Is there any law that says he must buy new product or what amount? It is his money. Full stop!

Before you add anything you will sha go to market with that same cash before you can bring it to ur station or plant......

Or you will take money from buyer before you go market....

What I'm saying they will still need to take derr gain to market to go buy goods first before they can think of gain...

Or you think Marketer will take dere extra gain from the 185 they increased to 500 and use it to eat they will land in bankruptcy if they try that they will still take that gain to market...

Have you heard of rollover in investment? That's what traders do. In situations where price went up, they buy less, sell that less at profit and buy more.

The trick to be in profit when the buying price is subtracted from the selling price for THAT PARTICULAR stock

But with all these you are describing it simply implies that the quality and standard of living is diminishing.

Very soon now school children will soon be looking like kwashiorkor due to malnutrition resulting from household meal management/adjustment.

Various figures and prices have been bandied. The oil sector is a haven of abysmal corruption. The government is as guilty as the marketers. It will take a very determined and transparent government to cleanse the sector.
In other words subsidy should remain until this clensing is done.

Don't mind many of these unserious people whocry more than the berieved.

They expected the oil marketers to sell their old stock at around N195/litre which would have been a massive blow once the price shot up! They wouldn't have the resources to restock which would have been a financial death sentence.

Those urging them to sell at peanuts would be nowhere to be found. These are the same once demand minimum wage increase to N100,000
