Imagine someone whose ancestors were Liberian slaves lecturing Ijebus, Egbas and Aworis about Lagos indigeneship. If Yorubas were not accomodating would they have welcomed your great grandfather and accepted him as an indigene?

Yet, you allow your mother's people to push you into hating the same Yoruba people. So, this is why they were crying for so long after you lost woefully to sanwo olu? They wanted to use you to hand over Yoruba heritage to your mother's people.

God pass all of una. Eni ku re!

Oga is your ancestral home in Lagos? If no then the new law affects you.

A move to protect ones eye from an incoming object is a default move, protecting ones territory from Invaders/snatchers is Self defense not necessarily "scared"
where there is no law there is no sin, IF Igbos dare what they tried the last time in 2027 it will end in serious war, in order to prevent that is why lagos house of assembly are trying to propose laws to protect indigenes, when these laws are in place Igbos will know the line not to cross.
Yorubas are civilized people, we have chosen the path of law over war.

What did igbos do last time cos i can remember you are the one who did something just because an igboman is third force at the past election

All of us who enjoy the hospitality of Lagosians should take a cue from Aliko Dangote. He has invested a total of $22 billion in Lagos, where he also employs hundreds of thousands. Yet, he has never claimed that he built Lagos or that it is No Man's Land, neither has he ever undermined or interfered with the Government of Lagos's right to make laws fly the good of their states.

Some of the things some of us try in Lagos, we can't even try it in Kano, even in our dreams. In your home states, will your state government give scholarships to non-indigenous people? Yet, Lagos does. Lagos also heavily employs non-indigenes in her civil service. Perhaps we should not take the tolerance of Lagos people as a weakness.

The borders are new but the land and the people are as old as time. Again, you keep exposing your low IQ and inability to engage in basic logic.

If you're NOT an Atlantic fish or Yoruba, you're NOT a Lagos indigene!

Nooo if you are not a yoruba who ancestral home is in the state created confines of Lagos, then you are not a Lagos indigene.

This guy has totally buried his political career. What is wrong in legislating a law that will protect the indigenes of an area? Truly, this guy is an agent of a hidden agenda being orchestrated by some unscrupulous elements.
Almost every state in the South did something similar against Fulani's ruga. Some northern states did something similar (shariah law) to protect their religion. Why all this hullabaloo when it comes to Lagos State?
May God bless you for this intelligent reaction.

Haba, Igbos should calm down. They started all these and it will be irresponsible of government to allow them to create a big problem for the state before they react. The house has not even promulgated any law yet, so no need fighting over the content of the law. Igbos should try not to claim Lagos as their heritage and peace will return ones again. Nobody is claiming any part of eastern states from Igbos, so they shouldn't come over to Lagos to claim ownership under any guise. if they are still looking for where to claim, they should go and claim Abuja.

See no Igboman claims Lagos as his heritage. Why do you think we travel to the east every yuletide season? It is because we go back to our roots. The issue is because of the presidential elections and the real gap with which LP won, forgetting that it was also Yorubas who voted LP. They are even making things worse for themselves by playing ethnic card because the term indigenes is clearly defined in the constitution so if they enact that law, Yorubas from Ogun and other SW states would be affected, as they are non indigenes.

Don't mind the hypocrites. People who cannot accommodate their fellow Igbos from other South Eastern states in their civil service (we all read how Theodore Orji, the then Abia governor dismissed civil servants from other South Eastern states) will be the ones lecturing you about how the prime minister of UK is from India and Colorado mayor is Yoruba. They say Charity begins at home but their own charity never begins in their Abia or Anambra first - they want it to begin in Lagos, South West.

The law even discriminates against Yorubas from Ogun and other SW states, because if your ancestral home is not within the confines of Lagos then you are not an indigene of Lagos.

Nooooo don't be a hypocrite here. The constitution which we follow in Nigeria defines an indigene as one whose ancestral home falls within the confines of the state, irrespective of your tribe. So if you are Yoruba from Ogun or other South west states. The law affects you as well. Don't say we are Yorubas na lie, the term indigenes is the game changer here

Who takes the Igbo-backed trojan horse serious?..

Speaker Obasa has our full suppprt on this law.. We say o to ge!

The indigenous people of Lagos deserve far more from their State.

Lagos State is not FCT where people gather to eat the largesse, ilu Eko is for Yorubas and is a Yoruba heritage.

Yes it is for Yorubas but the emphasis is on indigenes so if your state of origin ain't Lagos you are a non indigenes irrespective of you being Yoruba or not.
