there is a classroom allowance attach to your salary....I knew of this from a former colleague who was transferred to the ministry of education ....he says his a salary has reduced...it depend sha on the ministry and parastal ....finance, Rivers revenue services, judiciary etc may earn more due to extras finance flow

in my humble opinion, I don't think its a wise move. Why? After ten years on this job, you're about being promoted with three levels, leaving it and going to start afresh on level eight in another ministry isn't exactly wise

Field workers received higher than office workers because of some allowances attached to their work.
Teachers are field workers, while those working under civil service commission are office workers.
Both have advantage and disadvantage.
Those under civil service commission can assist their people in terms of employment, and other matters than those in the field. Meaning apart from higher and low pay, those under civil service commission have more advantage.

Remember you can get transfer of service, from ministry of education to other ministry if you go for it.

Because we've not received promotion letters, some said promotion letters will be given out first that's it is the procedure now you believe have come again with another false hope.

This fake rumors about promotion payment by month end has become a monthly routine. A source in the that that... said this or that, a reliable source said....., the nominal roll or voucher was prepared with new grade level,..... These lies keep repeating in this platform every month and some persons keep believing and getting disappointed at the receipt of their alert showing nothing different from the fixed salary, then a week after these same stories will be reintroduced.

The government is deliberately keeping mute about the issues of promotion and welfare of civil servants in the state, knowing that the various unions which are supposed to speak for the civil servants are almost dead, and the civil servants in their individual capacities are not using the social media to generate the noise that will get the attention of the government, some of the civil servants are party members and praise singers of the government in politics.

In the midst of the subsidy removal and it's attendant hardship, the state government is keeping mute about raising the salaries of civil servants in the state to cushion the impact of the subsidy removal; even the long overdue promotions, the government is not showing any seriousness. May God help civil servants in Rivers State.

Most teachers here are party members and praise singers. They see anything given to them as a favour they don't deserve. They are happy to see all the unions dead at the state level,but alive at the Federal. Most state with little revenue like Edo is doing alot.Lagos teachers are in another world when compare to Rivers.

For about 6 months I didn't see salary, while trying to sort it out, I met someone who told me when and how many months I was going to be paid and I was paid exactly as she said. She also told me that pending the decision of the governor that the new salary will be paid this month. I'll meet with her tomorrow and I'll find out the true position of things since voucher has been closed and I'll pass the info to everyone here. I hope and pray that teachers will be paid the new salary this month. 10 years on the job without promotion is neither easy nor good. You should be hopeful that you’ll be paid this month, you have every right to and you deserve it

Thanks for the information! You are a good man. My brother we have the right but our rights have been trampled upon by the last administration. Working in a place without promotion for 10 years it's really a pathetic situation especially when you see your friends in federal ministries getting steady promotion and increment to their salary.
