I see people complaing that there are no jobs in Vietnam. My people, just pray for favour and mercy. I can cartegorically tell you that, even students are getting permanent positions. Whatevwr you want to do, do not doubt, instead, pray for God to lead you.
This is my little contribution. Naija no dey smile ooo.

And stupid I too know people who I don't even know if they are here in Vietnam or not has been making negative news round discouraging people that students are illegal to work.

Thanks for validating my stance about this student stuff. I pity those who has heed to the negative comments about students visa. Life is taking a bold step and pray God leads ur footsteps and direct u make a decision and take action QED.

@whyna and everyone who has been helpful with information.GOD bless you for this thread.i have read from beginning to end and am ready to start my Vietnam journey.
A. I would appreciate any school recommendations for me to apply
I have a bsc so I'll prefer a master's degree but I won't mind an undergraduate or language course if it is what I'll need to get in.
2.Advice on sites to take my tef and C1 certificate
3.When is the next session opening.
Is there any need for statement of funds.
I would appreciate your honest response

Someone in Vietnam who I met online is helping me process admission in that school, he told me the list is out and also sent me a copy of the list which I have also attached, but he said there is no website or link where I can also confirm the list online.

I am about to make payment for the tuition fee through him, so please someone should help me Abeg make I no make mistake.

I have attached a blurred screenshot of the list.

Thanks all.

Hello, Whyna. I've been trying to connect with you via mail. Kindly reach out please. Thank you.

[quote author=WhyNa post=86653552]As much as possible, I'll try to document my step by step journey to Hanoi, Vietnam.

This is my first time outside Nigeria and the excitement no be here. Lol

In 2014, I took my first and only IELTS, made a 7.5, even created a thread and was optimistic about getting a scholarship. Between 2014 and 2018, I applied for dozens of scholarship but was always given admission without scholarship or put on reserve list.

2019, I had had enough and decided to look into other ways of leaving Nigeria

Yes, I work in Thai Nguyen.
So far, so good.

The simple way I describe this place to people is that "it's no different from Nigeria" in terms of people leaving their countries to seek greener pastures but they are limited by language which is why parents start to equip their children with English language skills as early as age 3 at English centres. They teach English even in their public schools.
The English teaching industry is a big one here and in Asia at large. I've also observed similarities in our ways of life.

They're a growing economy and a working country with all the necessities of life available to everyone. Electricity, good road network and the likes.

The standard of living is relatively low as well. The citizens eat out a lot, maybe that's why food is cheap. I like their cuisines, I'm an open-minded foodie so I've tried a lot.
The weather hot sha. Their sun is directly from heaven or hell or wherever the sun comes from😂 but I hear the cold season is coming soon and I'm really looking forward to it(even though they've told me I will hear weeen that period)

I'm sure this has been fully answered, but as a way to give back to this thread, I'll answer this again.
The process can seem a bit overwhelming, but don't worry! I'll walk you through the steps and provide all the necessary details to make it as smooth as possible.

First, you'll need to authenticate your B.Sc degree at the Ministry of Education. The official cost for this is 300 naira per document, but it's worth noting that some people have paid extra to expedite the process(15,000). Once you have your authenticated B.Sc degree, you'll then need to take it, along with your TESOL and C1 certificates, to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for authentication. The cost for this step is 1,000 naira per document.

Finally, you'll need to take all of your authenticated documents (B.Sc, TESOL, and C1) to the Vietnamese Embassy in Abuja for authentication. The cost for this step is $100 per document. It's best to go to the office in Asokoro, and it's recommended to bring $100 bills, preferably 2020 or newer. The man at the office may ask about the year of the bills, they reject 2 particular years, I'm not sure which again.

I wanted to share my experience with getting a teaching job here in Vietnam. I've been here for a few months now, and while getting a job wasn't too difficult, I haven't found anything permanent yet. I'm currently teaching on a part-time basis in a school. The cost of living here is quite low, so it's easy to save a lot of money. But, there are some challenges you may face.

It can be tough to find jobs in the heart of the city, although I know a Nigerian guy who managed to find one there (which is pretty rare). It's easier to find jobs in areas that are about 45 minutes to an hour drive from the city center. The pay is pretty much the same, and the cost of living is lower in those areas. The standard of living here is decent, but it's not quite the same as what you might be used to in America. My house is nice, but you may not find the same level of luxury in some areas.

Overall, though, I think this is a great place to be. The teaching method here is really fun and relaxed. Your main job is to keep the kids happy, and if they learn something in the process, that's great, but you're there as their friend first and foremost.
