You know the vice chancellor of the university should have been sacked for this macarbre incident that happened in PH,aswell the police commissioner of police and even the IGP.There was a total break down of communication, order and sanity in all sides.

How come the school authority did not know what was going on to have summone even the federal government?Because it took awhile before they wasted those guys.

Especially when that protest ended in destroying people's properties. I thought activists were involved in peaceful protests.
He may have had genuine intentions, but as a lecturer he should know that most student protests end up in violence. Seeing him there
in protest makes any body to believe he sanction the destruction the students carried out in that community.
Killing students = jungle justice
Burning houses/properties = jungle justice

Aluu community head was arrested we all clapped
Lecturer protesting with students demoted we condemn.

That Head of Department should not only be removed, he should be DISMISSED and handed over to the police.

What can we expect when someone who is meant to make the students reason why revenge and vandalization is not the way forward on this case now lead the youths to the battle field.

That HOD is another bloody hypocrite. Can he swear he doesn't take money from his students to pass them for his course? Or he doesn't sleep with his female students in exchange of marks?

When ACN is that last set of animals to condemn the school's action because Tinubu, Fashola and other ACN states don't value their employees one bit;

* Fashola treated the doctors who striked like slaves. He sacked OVER 1,000 doctors not minding the deaths likely to occur from such decision. Hundred of people died during that period and yet the state government never issued an apology letter or compensate the affected families.

* The Lagos state government have refused to meet the demands of its teachers and doesn't show any remorse in thir going on strike. Forgetting the children are likely to eventually get involved in crimes due to their continuous stay at home.

* The Lagos government increased the State owned university's tution fee by over 700% not minding if people will dropout of school and become miscreants and a threat to the society.

* Edo State government sack indescriminately yet the same governor who was once a Labour Leader is going AGAINST the labour laws and guidelines.

Violence and illegality is a norm in the party so they definitely see nothing wrong in going to burn down people's houses and destroy their properties.

ACN party and its members are bunch of HYPOCRITES who deserve no attention from the people. Let them put their house in order first.

The right to peaceful demonstration is subsumed under the inalienable right to freedom of expression. If the demonstration in question was peaceful, there is absolutely nothing wrong for this academic to be part and parcel of it. During the occupy London events, right on the steps of St Paul's Cathedral, I personally saw academics from LSE and UCL carrying placards. Even the Dean of the Cathedral resigned in support of the group. But this is Nigeria we're talking about. In the light of ongoing events in that country, Nigeria arguably is a banana republic populated, in parts, by barbarians and led by clueless executives (President and his cohorts), shameless legislatures and corrupt judiciary.

We are hypocritical in nature. If you offer a view that is different from the norm, people will rush to insult you without even thinking. In naija, people lynch suspected criminals because the police is ineffective in handling crime. Is Aluu the first community to lynch? We have turned lynching to a culture and sometimes the wrong people are caught. It's sad.

@bittyend and @callotti offered another angle to the story. because it doesn't conform to the thinking of the general mind doesn't mean we should shout them down with insults.

SMH only a Kangaroo country would people condemn Jungle justice lynching and praise jungle justice burning of houses and wrecking cars. Just as anybody in that video remotely invloved in the killing of those young men be prosecuted, be it those that brought matches or offered tyres. Anybody that is involved in the burning of houses and wrecking of cars should be made to face the law as well, DR Efemini should be all too aware of this.

Such a shameless HOD. . .who knows whether he had 'ties' with the late students? We all know that many lecturers belong(ed) to cult groups and remain their sympathizers/patrons/protectors in the system.

A man at the level of lecturer (let alone HOD) should have simply condemned the lynching of the students and called for thorough investigation. He had no business joining arsonist 'protesters' in burning innocent peoples' houses, looting beer parlours, and destroying properties. If we were not such a hypocritical society, then he should be arrested and tried for ARSON. If it is okay to arrest random people in Aluu on account of their supposed involvement in a crime ('murder'/lynching), why is it not okay to arrest an identified member (HOD) of a group that committed another crime (i.e. arson/looting/willful destruction)?

Let's keep deceiving ourselves in this country. It's incredible how you hypocrites conveniently condemn one crime and commend another.

These campus fellowships were responsible for the cancerous dilapidation of the university infrastructure. How many of the ivy league schools you so much respect have their classrooms turned into mini churches every evening? There is a reason it is called a university, there are designated places of worship inside the school why not use them?

You should blame the federal govt because the school does not have the capacity to cater for all the students in its own "hostels" if they can be called that and I do not think it is the VC's responsibility to take care of students who live outside the school go to a nearby community by midnight with a gun for what we are yet to find out.

Peaceful demonstration or protest is legal anywhere in the world as that's the only means the ordinary man on the street air his disapproval or grievances,I don't see any reason why the HOD should be removed for leading a peaceful protest of the unlawful killing of some of his students by a blood thirsty community called ALUU.
I don't see any connection between this and what is happening in Lagos, the striking doctors you referred to in your dumb post were demanding for pay package from their employer and its done anywhere in the world.
Stop drinking acid because its causing more damage to your brain than you can imagine,I'd:iot.
