God forbid Sokoto sha. Please what are you doing in Sokoto? Get the hell out of that place. You’re better off in a place with better opportunities like Lagos and Abuja. What kind of career opportunities are available in Sokoto asides those UN/NGO roles that are few and far between.

80k in sokoto is not easy plus, there is little or no opportunities couple with the fact that sokoto is still a big village with unfriendly people compared to abuja and lagos.
If you are sure of getting a better opportunity out there, please leave

For those who think the living standard in Sokoto is as low as what they portray online, I have this to tell you, You are so dead wrong. For you that want to leave 80K job in Sokoto for fantasy chase in Abuja, no even think am. Except you are a lady and have plans to sell your NYASH join, I would advice you stay in Sokoto.

North has the money yet the cost of living is a bit lower than the other parts.

If you doubt, meet me in Sokoto make I flex you Abuja and Lagos standard flexing......

Listen up. I know Sokoto and also live in Abuja. Please do all you can to leave Sokoto if you are from the Southern part and you are a Christian or even a Moslem.

It may not be instant but make a plan to move out maybe if you've got 500k and look for a saner place to stay.

Don't let age catch up with you there because all your investments, life may be burnt down at the slightest provocation.

You are a boy in Sokoto with that money. Food and transport and housing is cheap. See the money as a seed to invest. Spend less and look around and see what is in need by the people but in short supply and invest. Abuja is very Expensive now. Be conscious about making money there. LEGIT O.

If there should be any cogent reason for you to relocate to Abuja, it must be that your appointment letter us out
Going to abuja to hustle is like hell oo especially when u dnt hv anyone over there, and even if you hv someone, u will soon become a thorn on their flesh in no time.
Better relax in Sokoto with your 80k guaranteed oo

80k in Sokoto should be 120k equivalent in Abuja.

If you're single and you're sure of securing a job with 150k+ in Abj then I'd advise you relocate and then rent an apartment in a less expensive part of Abuja. Let's say Zuba, then see how life goes on from there.
You don't know what you are talking about. I just returned from Sokoto where I went to do a job.
I stayed in a clean hotel for N5k a night which in similar location in Abuja will cost like N15k and mostly ate roasted fish with well garnished chips and carrot and cabbages as dinner because it costs me only N2k while I spend N5k for same in Abuja.
I take Keke drop around the city at a cheap price of N300 unlike Abuja that a drop costs N700 and above on a rickety taxi within the city and there's no fear of One Chance devils.
Food and fresh vegetables are very cheap in Sokoto as N100 sugarcane is equivalent of N300 in Abuja.

I don't think you have stayed in Sokoto to say N80k is equivalent to N120 in Abuja, if you apply my experience above you should be in the neighbourhood of 200k minimum

=N=80,000 job in Sokoto is equivalent to =N=400k job in Abuja or Lagos when you take into consideration cost of living like accommodation, transport and feeding most especially in Lagos.

If you already have the job you can go otherwise 'hold the vulture when you get for hand before you begin find local fowl when you never see catch'.

Oga! This country hard now. Please 🙏 manage the one you see with your physical eyes.

Good morning!

With 400k on Abuja you will live well and save from 50k - 200k assuming one is single.

It's not nice to drop advice for the sake of talking

IyaTola:

morning Madam,

Please I need your advice.
I work in Sokoto but am thinking of relocating to either Lagos or Abuja for greener pasture, to go hustle and search for better job.

Please what your take on this.

From my NYSC experience, this something to actually ponder on. How much would he be earning in Abuja?

With 80k in Sokoto (if he is an indigene), he can easily buy/rent farmlands for cultivation of produce. If he is savvy enough, he can turn it into a multi-millionaire business within 2 years.

Oga stop lying. The least clean hotel you can get in Sokoto is from about 9 thousand naira. If I may ask, what's the name of the hotel you lodged?
