This is actually viable. I remember coming into the UK and was earning about £800 weekly as a Warehouse Operative. I got a £50k offer and jumped at it immediately. I was earning less than the Warehouse job but had the "hope" of earning more in future. The "hope" came to fruition in a few months.

I advise he does what @Gemma11 said: continue the care as part time to beef up the salary. That was what I did, I was doing my Warehouse job during the weekends.
Warehouse job for 800quid a week? Where
See me see better...where was this when I was in the UK. shocked

Hello everyone,
Please I need advice.
I'm in a situation and i need advice on how to opt out.
So my uncle wife took advantage of my wife because of too much respect. (wifey bleeped up big time). We recently moved close to them because she's the one who helped us with COS. She recommended a cooking pot (salad master) as we needed to set up the house and kitchen, but i declined immediately after i heard the price (4200 pound DD payment for 4years for 5pcs set.)
During the chat, i discovered she'll get about 500quid referral and thats why she's desperate for us to buy it. The discussion happend about 3 other times and my response was no. My uncle got involved at a point and he also supported her wife because that's what they use too but i insisted. Then she turned to my wife and start to convince her but we'd already discussed and it was a NO.
Fast forward to a month after, my wife was in their house sleeping, she then woke her up only for her to see the pot has been supplied, and they were already cooking with it for her induction and to use it. In the prescense of the supplier, my wife tried telling her we've already discussed this many times and we were not interested but she cut her and told her since they were already cooking with it, we cant opt out. She couldnt call me because she wasn't with her phone. She ensured all the paper works was done and DD was set before she let her near her phone. My wife has so much regard for her and that's why she couldn't say NO. Too much respect...

I got to know that day and i got mad at her, how can you let her lure you into a 4k financial engagement despite several discussions, she just dey cry and she was preggy....

I immediately told her to come take the pot but the supplier said no way, DD has been set and there's no going back)(dey don plan am.)
Bleep up i did was, i should've rang the company directly but i just gave up because i dont want issues between me and egbon.
Now, COS no get shift, there's no work in cardiff at all and all the load is on me. DD is 94quid per month and it's choking.

Here is my question, is there anything i can do to opt out legally? we're 6 months into the contract and it feels like forever, i dont mind losing 1k just to opt out, but i dont wanna do this no more... We can't afford with the all the bills and expenses we already have.

It's tiring...
I look forward to ya'lls suggestions

Omo you go fear hustle oo...all for 500pounds.🤣🤣🤣

So wait, you are actually having sleepless nights about this why??
Cos you didn't put your foot all the way down when it mattered! This story is kinda like Uncle held your hand and wanted to put it in a fire, I would have expected you'd yank your hands clear off. No disrespect in self-preservation. They bought it, they should pay for it. I don't care if the uncle was part of those who gave me one of my names, I ain't gonna pay one penny! So you dey actually pay..lol. It is well.🤣

Time taken onwards getting papers is more straightforward than UK

I had to give up because of Wifey's condition. The most painful thing was I later discovered that I could actually return it within 14days of buying it, but they lied because of the referral they wanna get. I just need a legal way to opt out. Otisumi

How did they order the pot set and you are paying for it.
They have access to your cards?
How're they using it to cook do you live with them

If it's on your card I think it's too late.

Invariably your wife has paid for her 'COS'

I believe my uncle's wife is a friend to the lady who supplies the pot, she works with a company who owns a franchise with salad master. So she brought the pot to her house when my wife was there and as standard, they have to use the pot to cook for you in your house to educate you on how it works and all of that. We moved it all to our apartment that same night.

We paid for our COS ni o, it wasn't even free.

On spot, you'll them set a DD for monthly payment. The pot itself if 2900 while the total payment after installment is 4200. I have been keeping mute just to avoid issues but it's getting choked.

What condition? That she's preggie

Isn't the 4yr bondage she's invariably in not longer?
Plus the potential or current bitterness you'll have towards your inlaws for years to come.

Your wife can manage without them when she gives birth. If you live with them pls move out.
Wife doesn't even have shifts to work sef

Like c'mon now 4200 quid for pots? POTS not a car .

Hello good people, please I would like to clarify an information even though I understand it may have been discussed here before.

Please can a tier 2 visa holder open a stock and shares account to buy etfs and earn dividends? Does this violate their visa rule in any way if it’s just for investment purposes but will be earning? Will this be considered a form of trading please?

Some pots / utensils can be really expensive but £4200 is really on the high side for regular folk trying to find their way in the UK

So this salad master scam is still ongoing ? undecided

The pot they use for the "demonstration" is not the same pot that is sold to you. You will be given an entirely new set of pots.

What your inlaw has done is pretty mean and just utter wickedness.

£4200 for stainless steel pots (yes, salad master is nothing but glorified stainless steel?

How much is Le Cruset (cast iron) pot set?

My Mrs has indulged their nonsense and sat through their presentation three different times and she hasn't budged.

Why would anyone buy stainless steel pots using finance or pay £4200? undecided

I will suggest you lodge a formal complaint compliance@saladmaster.com and include keywords like pressure selling, vulnerability, no affordability checks, consumer duty, etc. I will also suggest you complain to the financial ombudsman service too.

Especially if the post cost 2900 but the deal for installments payment over 4years adds 1100 to it.

Hilda got her pots cheaper I'm sure cos there are great brands for good cookware that will last you years.. Besides Hilda is a chef

People should learn to always research and apply common sense.

If the salad master pots are SO FANTASTIC as they claim, why are they not sold online, in shops or even amazon ??

They perpuate their scam by this referral/direct sales method.

They claim their pots prevent cancer, etc.

I remember looking up the website years ago and when I saw their CEO with a full blooded nigerian name embarassed i knew they were up to no good. grin

They actually make "forever living" sales agents look lie saints. grin

I don't even know which is upsetting me the most - the price of the pots or the fact that his wife took a finance deal with full interest to buy them. angry angry
