The major reason why others mentioned there are far ahead of us is religion. Nigeria is too religious. Christianity and Islamism are the major culprits here. Churches and Mosque everywhere you enter but the hearts of most adherents are so develish in nature. Disturbing God from Monday to Sunday to come down from heaven and help us do what we supposed to do by ourselves as humans. Like how on earth will somebody be praying for fire to come down from heaven and light up stove or gas cooker for him/her to boil ordinary water instead of looking for matches to do that? No critical and deep thinkers for any scientific innovation. All we do is to pray pray pray ten times, twenty times in a day and thereafter steal all the money in the state treasury. No drugs in the hospital,no motorable road,no portable water,no electricity,no equipment in our school laboratories,no production of the least thing like toothpick. And you still count us or any black African state as being independent? Pls,count us out. 1 Like |

No African country on the list is better than Nigeria and apart from basic infrastructure cleanliness, Nigeria is also better than a few of the none African nations like Fiji, Cyprus etc |

Bluntemperor:When you are reading messages try and apply a little understanding before giving unnecessary clash back, I literally mean check those great countries no black man was in head of affairs at the initial stage of development in those countries, the Austin you mentioned is serving as the 28th United States secretary of defense, apparently white men have already lay down principles to follow same with every other blacks person heading any position in other developed countries if they derail from the system laid down such person will be severely punished, let’s assume we have some white people running Nigeria till date the corruption would’ve be maximize to a lower level which can’t be raising eyebrows imagine at this 21st century 200m+ Nigerians accepted that snake swallowed money and we all kept quiet without questioning what was brought before us, for the fact that we keep accepting their lies and deceit makes them to do more just expect something worse than snake swallowing millions until we Nigerians we start holding the 3 arms of government to ransom for accountability the Nigeria system will continue to fail, all corrupt cases are swept under the carpet with the help of corrupt lawyers and judges the system is bastardized. Nigeria government and public office holders don’t give a f#ck about the citizens they only care about their personal gain and stacking up wealth for their generation, they’ve successfully exposed our younger generation to this greedy system hence everyone want to make quick money by exploiting their fellow citizens, go to every offices in Nigeria, immigration, FRSCN marriage registry etc the amount fixed to get things done will be inflated and yet we still maintain the system as if we are cool with it nobody is even thinking about bringing back sincerity to our society, Atiku lives in Dubai he obey the Emirates laws like every other person residing and working in that place, I work in Abu Dhabi sometimes when I think about the way things are being done in my country I weap and ask myself how did we actually get to that stage it’s a pity 1 Like 1 Share |

Gaining independence is not the major issue, it is how well? While every country is moving forward, we are left behind, despite having the most mineral deposit in the world, yet we can't use it to develop ourselves. Corruption has eaten us left, right and center, to the extent of our judiciary being bought. It is sad!!! |

Sharpsharp00123: Yours is to promote those in power and continue living in your suffering. How well is Bayelsa after Jonathan? How well are Katsina people after Buhari's useless misrule? So it will be with you people, just mark my word. Ours is to cash in and make money no matter who is the president. Even if you make a dog president we will do our business, buy your property and succeed. Get that into your thick skull |

We will continue to blame the government for any social-economic irregularity. They are the custodians of civilization and state treasure. The government has forgotten its responsibilities. |

China does not have an official "Independence Day" in the way that many other countries do. 🇨🇳 However, the National Day of the People's Republic of China is celebrated on October 1st each year, marking the founding of the People's Republic of China in 1949. This day is a public holiday in China and is celebrated with parades, fireworks, and other festivities. So while it's not technically an "Independence Day," the National Day of the People's Republic of China serves a similar purpose in commemorating the nation's history and achievements. 😄 |

Taylor92: Nigerians' problem is that we're too self absorbed to really know how other countries are fairing. It's outrageous to compare Afghanistan and Nigeria. Both countries are from different regions, different economies and geographical peculiarities so where is this your comparison based off of? Meanwhile try comparing between Cassava and Maize. |

shonepa: You called the suffering created by your leaders emotions? You are not living like humans despite fighting hard to put people you like in power and you call it emotions? That's the divide between us and you people, You can die to support anything weather it's good or bad you don't care. We look at the benefits to people and to society before we support anything, that's the difference between us and you. So continue being president or United Nations secretary-general while we will always see how to CASH IN AND DO OUR BUSINESS. Go and ask Buhari's village People,HOW MARKET? |
