You say gifts are symbolic but you don't know that the giver of a gift is more important than the gift itself. The heart or intention of giving is more important. You rejecting the gift shows that you'll be a bad son-in-law.... and beside what made you visit your inlaws for the first time without their daughter there with you....all signs of ova sabi PuZZyNegro: 4 Likes |

You are a one way thinker, I’m so sorry to use those words but let’s call a spade a spade. Bro, you should be happy you were welcomed and even honored enough to be offered some loafs. The mom that gave you bread did you know her purse? Even at that, they didn’t give you those breads to eat on ur way, u were given so you could gift the little lads around ur place as a gift from ur trip, since bread was the gift our parents assumed best when journeying home those years, and people at home accept it with love and joy. If this is the same orientation you want to keep pls don’t get marry oooo…. Cuz u could end up expecting ur wife to give u heavens because u built her a house, while women ways are just naturally different, far beyond ur imagination. 6 Likes |

You did wrong. Those days especially amongst our older folks it was common for a traveler to bring bread. In fact when you travel those days you were expected to buy the bread of the place you visited or the bread they sell on the way to your destination back home. So it is not or was not improper for them to have bought you bread. On top of that it was indecent for you to have rejected the gift. Are you sure you love this girl? 3 Likes |

No shame at all. First time visit to your future in-laws and you gave them biscuits and juice? They welcomed you, generously giving you food to feed your stomach. They gave you bread to take home and share with your people. You rejected it. 1. Your shortcake and juice showed you as a stingy husband to be. 2. Your shortcake showed you as a hungry man. 3. The lady was very correct. 4. You brought your very personal matter and failure to the social media. 5. Maybe you want to be a social media husband. 6. To you bread was the wrongest gift. Your holier than thou attitude did not let you know that shortcake and juice on the first day was the wrongest ever gift. Did you think you were going to visit school friends? 7. Na people like you dey buy okrika clothes give woman as first gift. You never ready to marry wife. 6 Likes |

I went there with a family member and got them some items like shortcake biscuits and juice. bread?[/quote] Actually, I didn't find the gift (loaf of bread) given to you funny, but the rubbish you packed from the whole of Lagos to P/H. Short cake buscuits? You no see correct assorted wines or stock fish and likes? Probably you didn't inform your parents b4 you left, they would have advised you better on what to take along with you. 1 Like |

Let's set it straight what you did was rude and dismissive to your future in law for that matter. Try to find a way to apologize before the matter get's out of hand. But come to think of it put yourself in there shoes and see how it feels. 4 Likes |

You shouldn't have rejected it because in my own Land it shows that they accepted you with all their heart . They expected you to go with that bread as a gift that you will give to your family . Bro you rejected a precious gift that would have shown you those in support and those that doesn't support you from marrying the girl .And in case of next time don't ever try to reject any gift from your in law to be nor matter how awkward it looks to your eyes. Next you visit them try to apologize to them ironically, Unless you don't want to marry the girl again. 1 Like |

You seems to be a man of low intelligence dats one of de major disadvantages of rearing someone like u as a goat in de city. You have not even gotten married u are dragging over simple issue dat u would have used ur head. It was very wrong to reject the gift of bread from ur mother in law to be. No matter how de eat bread on daily basis ur own bread as a gift would have been more respected. You even have de gods to criticize de bread u cud not afford as de least gift from ur inlaw to be. What is biscuits and juice? instead of good wine of 5k at least. You better go and remedy de situation because ur wife to be will confide with her closest siblings about ur nasty comment towards their mother"s gift to you. You will be seen as a bad choice. some of us have been in dis marriage for almost 15years. Is better u offend ur parents dan ur inlaws... 4 Likes |

You are not ready for marriage into that family or into any other family for that matter! You were given the gift of bread which symbolizes fruitfulness, success and wealth but you 'commonized' the gift. Please go to your village and marry. 2 Likes |
