This is post is targeted at graduates of 1-10 years.

Few days ago, a graduate of 10 years threatened to burn his certificate, this got me thinking.. Is it that bad? A graduate of 10 years cannot map out a career path or business plan to follow tentatively. This thoughts actually formulated these questions..

Are you doing what you envisaged as an undergraduate, or are you utilizing your survival instinct's.
If you affirm the formal..
What is it?
What are your challenges?
Is it related to course of study?

And if the later is affirmed..
What are those things you do to survive?
What are your challenges?

Your experience will help mold undergraduates and graduates alike and in turn, deter them from towing that shameful path like burning of certificate e.t.c
My brother,shege saw me.
I got a federal juicy job 16 years after graduation.
How did I survive?
The first five years after graduation, I thought it was a child’s play because after the 5th year,I hear nwiih.
I got a woman pregnant and was forced to marry without a job.
My brother, I turned to agbero work for survival.
Money dey that work but it’s the MOST demeaning work you can do.
I quit after 4 years and got serious with property business my dad was doing.
Madam started keeping men outside because I no get money.
I have to divorce and I reprogrammed myself.
I had two streams of income already and God blessed me with a federal commission work.
Though it came 16 years after my graduation, I am eternally grateful to God.

Let me give you a little secret about labor market. Using myself as an example, I have worked in more than 6 companies in 3 different countries and continent. Most times after about 2 years, i just get bored and feel like changing employer or when i ask them for a raise or favor. Now back to your question, the secret is this, know what the society needs and demands, then develop yourself in that particular aspect, then you will see as jobs will be coming your way.

Did int'l relations in uni after graduation no job, I sent out application countless of letters to every known major organization still yet no job.

Alot of people came with the idea that I should learn a trade and create job for myself, I put on my thinking cap but still yet I couldn't figure out what biz or trade I could venture into because of no capital. Even when I had capital set up something small jst to survive Lagos State Task Force, destroyed it said we were encroaching on the road, I picked up myself up again, set anther petty business, they used taxes to kill the business from Local Government to LASAA, LASEPA, LIRS, Agbero, I sold it off, oya na i enter keke make i try dey survive, they day I took delivery of the keke, that night, robbers stole it from my compound.

I cannot go come and kill myself, I just jejely look for one hp system, bought Airtel WIFI, got a solar system that can power my laptops 24/7 and then start my street hustle and I have never for once regretted this decision because I now earn more money than the average bank manager. Even my colleagues criticizing me back then are the ones pleading now to learn from me. Yeah you read that right. The average street girl makes an average of 150k in less than 3 days do the math. Very horrible. I finished 2014. Serve 2016 Kaduna state. Now back to pH. I started my job search after some months back 2017 I got an MTN sales rep job but couldn't meet up cox of the pay 30k. I left the job went into dragging job 2018 the contract was hijacked I left their. 2019 i got another job in a logistic company, I later resign due to the distance from onne to Bosco aba road. 2019 December I went to Lagos to work at appapa 2020 they close down Appapa due to covid 19. I went back to pH march 2020. Then I was having some money I brought from Lagos. I went into our local refinery invested and lost. i sat back what next 2021 I bought some rabbit started rearing rabbits planting peppers vegs & waterleave it was going well I started selling some rabbits & the crops. 2022 I needed big money this rabbit & crops are not paying me well. I went into our local refinery again this time around I was targeting a specific amount of money so I can invest big in agriculture but woo I was caught by fire that killed 3 people & 8 seriously affected. Looking at myself with fire burn I had to stay their for my treatment for 5months in a village I felt so so bad of myself cox all the rabbit dead no one to take care of them. It hasn't been easy for some of us tho. But we keep pushing life of a Nigerian.

Getting saturated.

But still very relevant.

The first few years might not pay off. But as your experience increases...

In Nigeria, there more opportunities for a data analyst.

For a web developer, in a long run (5-15 years), you will become a global talent. But, you need to be very good at your craft.

PS: AI is a big threat to these fields. But they will remain relevant.

Local chicken well not give you good eggs to confide on, but trust me it's profitable

You can start by buying 5 hens and 1 cock and before may-june you'll have a stock of 50+ chickens

And nothing like buying feed, this and that.
Just provide them with water and some vaccine when needed
