This one just dey carry every trip, I have been doing for 4 yrs now I’m not telling you that it is the best but I’m comfortable I make 15k to 20k everyday and I work only on the island!!! In one week you can safe upto 100k if your car no Dey give you problems!!! I made more than almost 1.5m during last festive period. I use only InDrive though

PH is not in the category of Ilorin and Ibadan. PH sits exactly where Lagos & Abuja sits. People make money & sustain their family from Bolt in PH. The driver is a newbie and hasn't mastered the dynamics of Bolt driving.
Nothing is happening in ph . you can't even compare ph to abj or lag.
Bolt pays better in enugu compared to ph. I have lived in both cities.

You're not the only freelancer paying commission to a platform. You don't want to pay commission but wants the privileges of the platform? How does that make sense please? Go and ask freelancers and upwork workers and employers how much they pay per gig.

The crazy examples you're citing aren't any different. Before Bolt, conventional taxi riders pay commission to their owners and levies. The bottlenecks, registrations, and the known faces make them relatively safe.

With bolt, you can't risk my life because you want to cash out. You're not doing me any "huge favour" by choosing to drive offline.

And more over, can you highlight or tell the online community how many reported or broadcasted theft from bolt drivers and at the same time show us uncountable number of car hijacked and death of drivers which police has successfully convicted or caught.

If I am embarking on a trip from Berger to Ajah and you tell me to go offline before leaving my location, how will such save me as a rider? How will such dubious "one chance" attitude help the security agencies if things go wrong with you? You're literally going offline without traces (probably the same as shutting off your phone) so no one can trace your movement. Is that what you compare with a digital device with live location?

You want me to go offline in Berger so if I get kidnapped in Ikeja, Bolt can assume I arrived at my destination safely or never embarked on the trip at all? Make it make sense.

Since that map you signed up for has no value to you, I have advised and will advise again to go join conventional taxi drivers. They clearly don't need it, but you know what? That levy you don't want to pay, you will pay double to NURTW and the park Chairman.

You're still replying on something you're not clear about. Listen again. As a platform driver there's no single security for me, non whatsoever so to say I would be bypassing 30% commission to the detriment of my safety is non existent. A driver has no single shield or security driving taxi in any platform. Even if I was hacked to death in any corner of the state. Nothing can be done to find my killers and that's just the truth, I wasn't expecting any security agencies to find them cos they won't find them. So as a driver going offline can not be against my security because both the online and offline is useless to my security. The riders only requirement to kill or rob me is just a prepared dubious phone number and a nickname. So who will find them?. Nobody.

Nothing concerns a taxi driver with your safety.

Last week I started bolt with fuel of 25k.
After all the drive.
My net income after bolt commissions was 20k.
I lost 5k.
On Sunday I bought fuel of 30k and the thing had enter reserve already and my net income after bolt commission is 26k.
Losing 4k already.
I think I have to give up

As A matter of fact what's your highest winning, no lie

My highest one time winning is 108k with #50. Next highest is 50k at N200 . Then 30k @100 . Others are small amount. It's normal to lose. Most games are not predictable but u follow ur instinct sometimes.
Have played a whole year without winning before. I learn, adjust and observe.

In Abuja, no Bolt driver had ever asked me to book offline. I don't think I've experienced that.

But coming to Lagos, my first trip, a driver asked me to book offline, I was suspicious but he then explained that the fare is not commensurate to the distance he'd cover. I just obliged him.

I've been doing offline for a while now. Didn't think it was that risky.

Don’t just drive on bolt app alone get Uber and the rest apps. Avoid long pickups and traffic areas too. Avoid buying bulk fuel because it will discourage you from running around without passengers. Buy 10litres and when it finishes you buy another one. Avoid buying fuel from most NNPC stations forget the 568 naira they are selling it is scam buy from mobil, total or north west there fuel last more than NNPC fuel. Lastly start early and close early too. Don’t be discouraged with time you will master

Why are you so particular about this offline trip, by the way? There was a time when I was using Bolt nearly every day, and less than 5% of the people (whom I reported, by the way) asked to go offline. Why are you among the 5% and not the 95%?

Not everyone has evil intentions though, but you may never know. These things are not easily discernible. We have read reports of how some drivers molested their riders on Twitter, and so on. People believed their stories because the victim (rider) came with receipt and all. For someone who cancelled a ride, he/she will struggle convincing anyone.

For many of these drivers, it is just greed and nothing else. Going offline is as good as canceling your ride/order and choosing to enter a 'one chance' scenario.

You can easily compensate a driver who chooses to stick to the rules. You could see how concerned this guy has been about his safety and financial gains, so it is every man for himself, dear. Stick to the rules and compensate later if and when you feel like it.

I am a stickler for process. Especially when I am engaging private enterprises.

I worked in a maintenance role for 5 years and a lot of people had our oga at the top on speed dial. So I expect good service as well. I have actually copied ceos in instances when I was getting poor service.

So when an Uber guy told me to take a ride offline I was vexed and I went to the Uber thread to complain. I forgot I am in Nigeria where people love gaming the system. I got a lot of insults which I gave back.

The issue for me is - Uber or bolt is providing you the platform. Connecting you to client. So by going offline with a client bolt connected you to - you are stealing from bolt /Uber.

All that talk is just justification. If you feel Uber or bolt is not fair to you then you can simply opt out.

This is basically the situation when you engage a contractor for a service, and then his boy comes to you and says I can do it for you at a better price. Stealing his ogas customers right in the office.

You are not seeing it up north possibly because the guys up there, for all the bad things I say about them have more integrity.

So when an Uber guy told me to take a ride offline I was vexed and I went to the Uber thread to complain. I forgot I am in Nigeria where people love gaming the system. I got a lot of insults which I gave back.

The issue for me is - Uber or bolt is providing you the platform. Connecting you to client. So by going offline with a client bolt connected you to - you are stealing from bolt /Uber.

All that talk is just justification. If you feel Uber or bolt is not fair to you then you can simply opt out.

This is basically the situation when you engage a contractor for a service, and then his boy comes to you and says I can do it for you at a better price. Stealing his ogas customers right in the office.

You are not seeing it up north possibly because the guys up there, for all the bad things I say about them have more integrity.

Yessss! It's not common in the North, particularly Abuja at all. The Bolt guys are satisfied with the online trips or if you want to tip them, that's also fine.

Coming to Lagos, I'm seeing so many abnormalities.

I drive nowadays to make little money to play. I will buy 15k fuel and make profit of just 3k. If I put dat 15k at 1k each on single sure 2odds , my returns will be better.
