The reason for this post is because of my elder brother. He wants to end up useless for life. He is going to be 50 years by July this year. This man doesn't want to help himself. He is not working. He depends on our aged parents for feeding even as he still leaves in our parents house. All of my other siblings are married with children. I am married with children too. I and family stays in another state. Everyone including our pastor has advised him to get a job but he is very lazy to work. All he does is chatting on social media every day especially nairaland. He is a popular member of this forum but I don't want to mention his moniker to avoid embarrassing him here. My husband recently got him a job at a construction company but he has refused to work.
Pls I need your sincere advice on how to make him change for good, because I don't want him to end up useless for life.

OP I can't even imagine how disturbed you must be. Watching a beloved sibling sliding downwards in life is never a pleasant experience. There are a plethora of reasons that may have resulted in his lack luster attitude towards life. I think one way to help him is to allow him face the reality of the hardship that laziness brings. Handouts from family members might need to stop for this to dawn on him. In all, keep praying for him for God to be merciful to him and deliver him from whatever shackles might have held him bound.

There is little u can do except ur mum decide to break the jinx by asking him to leave by force by fire.

Additionally,many nairalanders are chronically lazy,toxic and unfortunate,yet they have bad mouth to accost anyone who calls them out.

I have posted a topic like this early last year,many of them insulted me but wetin concern me. That is just the reality,as this is prominent among Lagosians urrespective if their tribe.

I will advise you to sit down with him, advise him on what he loves to do . Also if you are prayerful type, pray for him and keep on following up on him too. He’s a man. He can decide on what he want. Concerning he hasn’t married yet. He may have a girlfriend that he hasn’t told the member of the family. Help him to win
