horlabiyi: Good morning bro, you need a proper measurement for this roofing, but only after the roofing wood works are completed. Any other estimates is just a guess work that might not help you so much. In fact, before you complete this wood work, prices may have moved honor down, this is Nigeria where quotation stays relevant for only hours. |

In addition to what @spyder880 said, the "HEIGHT" and design of the roofing 100% affects the number of square meters and materials you will use E g 1. A 300sqm(area) sloping roof with a height of 12 feet will use less materials than one that is 14feet high but the materials will be more than a FLAT roof of same area.The height actually has increased the area to be covered Eg 2. If Your roofing is one that has a simple design without many valleys,it will need less materials to make as well as save you a lot of cutoffs compared to one that has plenty valleys and throughs. Like he said,this kind of estimate is best done AT THE SITE by a professional, preferably by either the roofing sheet company rep or the carpenter that will do the roofing. 3 Likes |

spyder880:i wanted to read to the recent post but then I am forced to ask a question...when u answered the person who said it was a challenging job n you replied saying the basement foundation took more than budgeted for. now here is my question. would it have been cheaper if the basement flat waa filled up with laterite n then the whole ground floor will now have its foundation all together.. now here is what I was gonna say when I got to ur last n recent post you are doing a great job n have made me love engineering...to the point am considering learning under ur tutelage when I return back home. 2 Likes |

I'm updated now on ur post. first I must commend u for this n also updating it. you have made me take a deep interest in building engineer. back then after secondary school, I used to work as a labourer...but I never was interested in it as I wanted to go to the university.. a friend I introduced to it is an engineer now as his parents couldn't afford to send him to school... also he wasn't interested in schooling. I wished I had followed such path. well that's life. 1 Like |
