He will now set up another committee to look into this committee....and another committee to look into...then put together a committee to look into the...lol....numb nut this President is.

deelobe: I used to think Jonathan was confused but he is not. people that know him say he is a very deep man, sets baits to achieve what he wants. He has been silent about the scarcity since waiting for this day to bring up the agenda he started last year. He wanted Nigerians to experience sufferings so that they will have no choice but to agree. Do you know the hardship Nigerians are going through. its never been this bad. that's is the legacy Jonathan wants to leave behind. He is not any way confused he knows exactly what he is doing. May God deliver us from Jonathan. behind that smile is a cynical, calculated man. smiley

NL is filled with Nigerians in diaspora so I don't take most of the comments seriously. I stopped to buy papers this morning and everyone by the paper stand agreed that the subsidy should go once and for all because they all have realised that the marketers are holding everyone to ransom. Go to the depots. Go to the loading points. Some of you think you are fighting against Jonathan but GEJ does not own an oil company or oils wells.

Fuel subsidy should be removed and the market deregulated. Then Nigeria will be set on a new course towards greatness. Keeping fuel subsidy is like prosponing our progress. It just has to go.

What has been been done with the accrued fund from the first deregulation. this is the 11th month after that. All our federal roads are in a sorry-state, hospitals are now mortuaries, moribund educational system etc. WHAT HAS BEEN DONE WITH THE FUNDS apart from #1billion for GEJ's feeding. This country is a cursed land.

Until corruption is fought to a stand still, policies in Nigeria will just be paper works. GEJ cannot fight corruption alone and he knows that. Nigerians need to rise up against corruption; CORRUPTION HARAM is what we need not Boko Haram! We should stop treating the symptoms of our problems and address corruption that is responsible for our present sorry state. GEJ cannot save Nigeria, only Nigerians can collectly save this country - time is running out.

Mr. President, I wish you well.

Go ahead and remove this madness called subsidy completely. It is the right step in the right direction.
It is over due. I was even even scared whether you will muster the balls to hit the hammer on the head of the nail.

Now I know you have balls, I believe more in you.

It is obvious that the poverty mentality of Nigerians which makes them to beg for peanuts will not allow them to think outside the box. Let market forces determine the prices of petroleum products. As far as government has hand in the pricing, our economy cannot grow. It is the best thing to do.

If Nigerians does not want progress, then I advice you to start thinking of Niger Delta Republic, we all must not sink with this fraudulent ship called Nigeria.

Remove subsidy, and tell Ihejirika to get ready for the "Odi" solution, especially on OBJ's village if they make any noise in the name of protest. After all, he was recently calling your attention to it.

It is obvious that Nigeria have no patriots and no nation can grow without patriots.

A type of propaganda tactic called classic conditioning.
Una do well

Classical conditioning
All vertebrates, including humans, respond to classical conditioning. That is, if object A is always present when object B is present and object B causes a negative physical reaction (e.g., disgust, pleasure) then we will when presented with object A when object B is not present, we will experience the same feelings.

Petrol is already being sold at 120 in many places so removing the subsidy would not be a bad idea but there must be an assurance that within 9 months of removal all the refineries will be sold and that they must be operating at 90% minimum.

First, to everyone commending GEJ and shouting subsidy must go, if you are not a government agent, then anwering this one question would be at fore of your mind:

The subsidy that removed in January when fuel went from N65 to N97, what has government done with it? We were promised all sorts of palliatives. Okonjo and other government people argued, the removal will he'll Nigeria get the necessary infrastructure it needed.

Can any of you point us to something concrete that has been done with the money? All our federal roads still lies in shambles, dangerous to drive on and claiming lives.

The truth is nothing has been done.

GEJ is an ERROR. At leat, I can beat my chest and say I voted for Buhari and not GEJ.

Sometimes I sit down and daydream what life in Nigeria would be like today if stu.pid Nigerians and voted in Buhari instead of GEJ.

Corrupt marketers would be busy pleading for their lives in court or looking for a way to flee the country through the borders. As if the country does not have the power to deal with a few marketers holding the nation to ransom by fuel. You close down their company and give the job of bringing in fuel to other people. As if there not many budding businessmen that would jump at the opportunity. But now, they are holding the nation by the jugular.

Several refineries would have been ready or almost ready and fuel prize would have go lower than even N65. And yet our so called porous borders will cease to be porous when corrupt politicians behind the whole scheme are dealt with. As if large quantities of petrol is something that can be hidden and taken across borders without being seen?

Buhari would have dealt decisively and ruthlessly with corruption, and as a result, we would have seen improvement across all facets and aspects of our economy.

Even the police will change once they see a sincere leader at the helm of affairs leading by example.

By now, anyone who does not believe GEJ is corruption personified is either really very stupid or is a paid goverment agent. GEJ cannot fight corruption. He is too much compromised. Who does not know his election was funded from the lootings from the subsidy scam.

I can only hope stupid Nigerians won't elect him for the 2nd term.

GEJ is truly a curse on this nation.

I have sed it and I will keep saying it, this man is as dumb as they come. Who in the hell supervised his thesis?? How could a PhD holder always speak like a todler?? His word has never inspired anyone I know of. Even by simply sayin 'I dey laff', OBJ knocked on pples inner minds than all of Jonathan's speeches put together!

The man is simply a morr'on!!
I pray he goes ahead and officialy remove the subsidy (because unofficialy, it no longer exists) so we can get yet another chance to occupy the streets and effect the necesary chance by force!
I believe we've lernt a huge lesson from the last episode. This tym its not gonna be the NLC/TUC vs Govt., its gonna be Nigeria vs Nigerian Govt!

Common sense is not even common again for Nigerians who think they are literate. Why cant we allow subsidy to go finally? 1st week of January when subsidy was removed totally, hw much was fuel sold? I believe N150-N180 frm private stations. Today hw much are we buying such product after partial removal because of the protest? Even during fuel scarcity period hw much more do we buy d product? Is it not almost thesame price? We can attest that d price of PMS has been outrageous. So why cant we for once bear the pains and reap d dividend in the long run. Nigeria must not remain thesame. Unpopular policies need to take place. What i want from the govt is for them to only subsidies transportation bfor removing it. I am tired of Nigerians kicking against subsidy removal. I bet u, we shall continue to face hardship of PMS if subsidy is nt removed totally, and this will greatly affect our cost of living. God bless Nigeria!

I know but let it be removed so that Nigerians can suffer very well and perhaps the suffering will make their eyes to be opened to the truth, however my 6th sense tells me that they will adjust to the suffering so in the end GEJ will have no excuse not to perform like he has now.

If you think fuel subsidy is about GEJ, then you know nothing about Nigeria. Fuel subsidy is one of those structural policy defects Nigeria has been running on for years. It favours no one but the oil cabals. Every corrupt president has always connived with the oil importers and kept the subsidy thing going. That is the corrupt and easy way to go. Those saying GEJ is removing it because of corruption are funny. The simple way to corruption is to keep the subsidy not to remove it.

Am I correct in asserting that if I was to remove a subsidy , the resulting price can not increase by upto 100%

PLEASE CAN ANY MATHMATICIAN OR ECONOMIST CORRECT ME IF MY ASSUMPTON IS INCORRECT.

Someone please then explain how the same subsidy continue to be removed since Obasanjo's rule when fuel was around N27 / litre - Obasanjo increased the price by over 500% undecided

Someone please tell me I have not lost my mind undecided
