Let's not just start prolonging the issue, we need it.
I think we should start by having a community that we bring all Nigeria programmers together, then we can further the discussion.

So where is the forum?

NaturaLly, programmers are solitary people. Very individualistic. We do not usually move in packs. That's why there isn't a programming association. But we could start something though. It would be fun, to interact with fellow programmers - people that can understand each other.

What is the out come of this thread. Is there any standing association yet?

I strongly subscribe to this idea. But first of all, let us organize a programmers forum perhaps in Lagos. we'll be able to make our voice heard, interact with other programmers. Already nigerian is gaining trust in nigeria programmers. Let's do it

Its a good idea i started a club in Port-Harcourt which i called Port-Harcourt Coders Club the attendance was much but most Nigerians don't believe in Partnership most persons were also not real programmers. The truth is that the current computer association is only interested in money. Secondly the software community has not fully developed in Nigeria so programmers don't get challenging jobs apart from creating websites.

@martinsudek of course. Echo Vc is a platform for programmers who can show how good they are to meet angel investors who can buy their ready made jobs, pay for their services or invest in any visions they might have planned out.

abeg, this association thing is unnecessary for now. if you develop great apps, couple bad-ass systems, meet up with dead lines without letting to clients, you will definitely get recognized
