I think, first you should get admissions from the school you'd want to study, then they would most definitely follow you up with information on how to obtain a visa.

For info on study visa issues,
Visit http://www.mig.ee/eng/residence/study/
You'll get much of the information you need.

Re: Estonia Visa by Abedisi(m): 2:38pm On Dec 04, 2007
Boy go study in Ghana or stay in Naija, Why must you guys go so extreme in search of education while you can get same in better places, Well if the school is well placed and known i wish you the best, Even some of this schools are rated lowly. Imagine schools in Holland are so low and very expensive for foriegners.

Success

I wonder if you're really serious with this - Baltic countries? I live quite near those countries and I have been there. It is just a waste of time my dear fellow naija man/woman. Look for your education somewhere else where you can get peace of mind and a job! Need more info and you still want to go there, holla @ me but don't say I didnt warn you when you finallly see what life would be for u when u get there. Dont forget you can't bleach your skin easily though  cheesy

plus going to Estonia or Latvia is like getting a 50cm long /15cm wide d.i.c.k up your throat/ass or something. Just 4get about those places if you want to have some peace, I used to have a Lithuanian mate back in school who told me that if we were back in his country, he wont even say a word to me but rather mob me shocked

Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, Russia and even some parts of Finland are all same. Better move towards more western part of Europe for what you are looking for!!! A word is enuff---
Re: Estonia Visa by wendymanda: 2:38am On Dec 28, 2007
Of all places Estonia. I think the people in that country are in the same predicashitment you are. Is there really no other country, even the Nigerian education system could not be that bad.
Re: Estonia Visa by bjluv: 3:38am On Dec 28, 2007
hey when you go to Helsinki harbour, you could see what is going on between the baltic countries and Finland through to the EU. Finland is like the point of entry for all those people, they just want to rush into the EU  and make better lives for themselves too and that is why you'll see majority of them coming to study here [with their coconut heads] , marry a very old woman/man or then go the opposite way i.e sell themselves. And yes to some extent, even drive to your compound in their Ladas telling you how beautiful the Russian/Estonian/Latvian girl in the car is and how you could have her as a fast Zap or then, that they have some fuel/cigarettes/contrabands for sale

Common poster, somewhere else please! I do not want you to move from frypan to real hell fire or then you just want to be like the evangelist I met in Tallin sometimes back in 2006 wink
Re: Estonia Visa by PapaBrowne(m): 9:24am On Dec 28, 2007
@bjliv
Look at what you are saying!! Man, the Baltic countries are not only members of the EU but are now schegen countries too.
There are different kinds of people on the planet, some are proactive, others are reactive.
If you are the reactive kind, you will lose out on lots of potential opportunities.

All the baltic countries are improving at tremendous speeds by the day.
If you choose to study in Estonia or any other baltic nation, by the time you graduate, you would be able to live and work in any of the various EU countries.
Besides, if you have a Baltic residence permit, you can move around all the best countries of Europe freely.
Compare that to studying in Nigeria, where the is little hope for the young graduate and very, very poor quality of life.
I am one of those people enjoying Nigeria, at least financially and socially. However, after having lived in Europe and America I still do all I can to advise Nigerians to at least study overseas, even countries as bad as Ukraine can be better than Nigeria if you utilize your time wisely.

and how you gonna get the residence permit?

and you think the EU is waiting for BLACK balticians to give them JOB?

We should be honest and stop deceiving our brothers & sisters. These people from Baltic are doing shirty jobs in western europe.

It is a dangerous place, openly racist with no rule of law for black. It is modern day gulag

do you know how many BLACKs roten away in their prisons?

@Babasin.
With a student visa, you are automatically entitled to a residence permit in I think all European Union countries.

On your second question, no country in the world is waiting for black people to give jobs to, not even any of the big three of US, Canada, UK.
The logic is: as a black man and a Nigerian for that matter, wherever you are, you have to beat the odds to succeed.

The people from baltics are doing shitty jobs in western Europe simply because the pay in the west is much better. Anywhere there is better pay people will move, thats why there are still loads of Europeans and Americans in the Niger Delta doing shitty jobs despite all the kidnappings.

If violent racism was a huge problem for blacks in the baltics, they wouldn't have easily joined the EU or schegen area. Besides, pay a visit to Germany and learn more about racism.I think it is very pronounced there.

Furthermore, Pleeeeeaaase. . . there are blacks in jails in every country and we all know the reason- wrong choices like selling drugs, fraud, etc. Any country that doesn't put criminals in jails would have problems. I know lots of blacks that were in jails in Europe and they never claimed innocence.

Finally, Babasin, beautiful as the Cameron Highlands may be, and tasty as the tea may feel, I don't think I would still recommend it and other Asiatics over studying in Europe.

very well said but note BOLD above.

student visa do not always qualify you for work permit and even if it does you are limited in hours etc

are you also telling your would-be students the ODDS they have to beat to succeed?

common, the whites doing OILY jobs in Niger-delta get paid GOOD($50,000/mo). They have cooks etc. The baltics-people in WESTERN europe clean toilets, sell drugs prostitution and are thieves. Surely, this is not same. If their country is good, they would not be doing those shity jobs.

when is how BLACKs are treated considered as criteria for the Baltic to join EU?
Go to Paris and see what HELL blacks are going through. Go Greece and see.

and how are you advicing your would be clients to avoid the 'wrong choices'? when thats ONLY choice to survive and not loose FACE back at home.

NOTE: I am not against people studing wherever afterall I met a guy in 'Reykjavik' but we should give them all the OPTIONS.
Re: Estonia Visa by bjluv: 4:30pm On Dec 31, 2007
@PapaBrowne,

you sounded like BBC or CNN but have you really walked on the streets of Tallin or Riga? I have and I know they wont necessarily smile at you and if they do, they probably think you are the puff daddy they saw on TV last night. That is how screwed it can be tongue

Baltics are improving and recently joined the EU and schegen countries and that is true but come here and ask Africans who have even 2 or more degrees from educational institutions in Sweden, Finland, Norway if they could get job easily not to talk of some kind of Estonia?  Folks here do ice-hockey [cleaning jobs] man!

Go to somewhere like Varkaus in Finland or then Tromso in Norway and they will probably fling your Estonia-earned degrees out of the window if you are not careful. Meaning they appreciate only degrees from their own country. They might be nice and tell you to go back to the Uni or Poly in their country and get more courses done! A dutch friend of mine couldnt get any job in Finland (besides cleaning) with his bachelors earned from a dutch uni and he was advised to go back to school. You mention Ukraine     common man--- grin

PapaBrowne, it seems you havent been living in this region for long or then you are probably blind by what you see  cheesy

Not in all EU countries!

I fall into these catergories and I am glad that I could say that I did succeed, but it wasnt something that happened overnite. I still know schoolmates and friends from Africa and Nigeria who have moved away to the UK, US, Canada, Australia or other European countries just because their 1 or more-than-2 degrees couldnt get them any reasonable  job besides a cleaner or paper(letter/newspaper)-boy job!

Do you think the EU didnt know there is racism in the baltic countries or then the founding EU countries does not have a racism problem in their societies? That wouldnt and didnt stop these countries from signing the Schengen agreement and joining the EU+Schengen

I like your arguments. Lets take a cruise on Tallink or VikingLine to Tallin and thou shall know the truth  smiley
