We just built a very beautifully finished white door for a Nairaland client and I will like to share some of the process involved in the construction with you.

The picture below shows the second layer of spray on the job.

The second layer of spray is being sand papered, while the frame is being constructed and of course with the subframe so the frame can stand on its own since since it won't be attached to a wall.

I understand there are different kitchen furnishing designs. But looking at the size of the kitchen picture above, how much will it cost to furnish a kitchen that size using polished hardwood material?. And Marble cost?

Or perhaps, you should post different furnished kitchens (with different) designs that you have done along with approx cost?. Thanks

Hello Empire, sorry for the late response, been very busy.

I am not sure you will be able to get the true size of the above kitchen by merely looking at the picture. Though hard to do, I will try to give you a cost but it most likely not going to be a true reflection of what your kitchen will cost if the actual measurement and your personal needs are taken into consideration.

The first question that will come to mind is what type of hardwood are we talking about? Cedar, beech, pine, mahogany, obese, walnut, black afara? All these come with varied cost implications. Since you are not here to answer the question, let me work with beech wood which happen to be the third most expensive wood among the ones listed above.

With beech, the kitchen will cost nothing less than N400,000.00 in construction and installation with laminated interior. The top can be made of laminated work top, marble (blue pearls, green pearls, black galaxy, tiger skin, rosa beta etc), acrylic top etc. using the one in the picture above - black galaxy, it cost between 19,000 & 21,000/Sqm. (You can get it in the market). The kitchen above cost about N75,000.00 including transportation and installation.

So, if I understood it correctly, the cost of the pine kitchen cabinet above is N75,000 including the laminated wood top?

My mind de f00l me too. I was like 75k?. I would furnish all 3 kitchen sharp sharp . Actually i like beech cabinet with marble top. Thats my taste. Well, as soon as i get measurements will let you know. But i dont think u answered my other question though. This is a project i partly monitor for a friend in I-ode but i am responsible for financing. Do you work in the region?. This is going to be 3 kitchens in a duplex.

How I wish it could be that easy, I can think of hundreds of furniture designs to decorate my home with! Sorry for not being clear with my explanations.

As per beech cabinet, that's my favorite too. Beech has beautiful glaze and age well. It get more beautiful with age if well dried before use. I will find time to post some tips that will help people to know the type of materials to be used in making their furniture.
