felzylix: Yeah, you have three life lines for each month after which you 'll be charged for withdrawal on a third party ATM. BTW transactions on your bank's ATM is unlimited.
Thanku. I don't know why it's so difficult for them to stick to 'own' ATMs. Then when their cards are retracted or they are debited without pay....they will start shouting that the reversal process is taking decades.

blink182: Some weeks ago after news of reintroduction of atm charge appeared, the CBN was quick to say it will be after three times of withdrawing and they gave no time limit if it was for thrice a day or month.

Nigerians in their minds assumed it had to be 3 times a day. How wrong we were for it is three times a month. The CBN expects situations where we withdraw from other bank atms to only happen three times a month?

Emefiele has given us a taste of the sort of economic management to expect from him. One built on lies, deceit and putting unnecessary financial burden on the common man.

Is N65 to much to pay. If you have a problem with it, go into the bannking hall of another bank and withdraw.

If this is the best he can offer too bad. then we can only expect worse. may be soon COT(Commission on turnover) will return to N5 after 3 withdrawals a month. He is doing the bidding of his pay masters, am not surprised. we were looking forward to COT free banking in no time but i know that can no longer happen. This is just another way to extort and steal from the masses.

bigx: How do you guys expect the banks to manage the ATM's? Maintain inverters to keep them on, update software, stock them up with cash? Without charging ATM's would just be an additional expense which would bog down on their bottom lines. I see nothing wrong with it. There is a difference between a business and a charity. Banks are businesses.
thank you brother.....sls bleeped up for doing that..... He was highly unprofessional for doing dat....maybe he was trying to catch public praise, that is create a notion to d average nigerians that he was fighting for d poor.....with d gullible nigerians not knowing that if bankers are dropped, salary reduced and so on... Patronage of thier goods nd services in d market thier kiosk will go down....den they will b d first to complain dat things are terrible.... Den d poverty cycle continues

common man,did you understand the directive at first? how can it 3ce a day? U sef reason am. Your parent bank pays a lot when you withdraw from another bank's ATM for free and many people misuse that privilege. Tell your banks to improve on their ATM services..

You have no idea how much we're charged here in the states for such transactions.

It is only when you pay for something that you can demand for continuous and effective running of such service. angry
But then in the States, they don't take ur money without adequate consultations but,the reverse is the case here. They have been deducting my money even before any transaction with my ATM.

Then they should let is redraw over the counter if the cost of maintenance is high. What cbn should be doing is finding a way to reduce the cost of maintenance for the banks not trying to shift the cost on us. The funniest part is that the atm for other banks will not give 40k you will have to redraw 20k per withdrawal. So if someone is redrawing 80k the 3times/month done finish be dat.

Mr, whose concern is this? what a fucking thing are you talking about?. who cares about which state of the America you are? Is American Government runs like Nigerian Government?

Please stop talking about nasty comparison between Nigeria and America, what social securities Nigeria Government put in place to ease or recude the burden of economic hardship faced in Nigeria?

Who is asking anything free from Nigeria? The palliative measures Jonathan promosed Nigerians after the removal of petroleum subsidy in 2012, is it working?
If you dont have anything to say, never you talk fucking trash here. Nobody cares where you are or come from.

Pls som1 close to dis emefiele should advise him to rescind that decision and think of policies and programmes that wil enthrone job creation and youth empowerment like introduction interest free loans or business idea competition and regulation. Som1 should remind him he maybe completely irrelevant if he lives the office without good legacies and antecedents. Am not jst happy abt it. Worse stil its coming from an igbo man

am sure you didn't read the message properly. It was clearly stated that the bank charge will be activated after the 3rd atm withdrawal from another bank through out each month.

Weselion: To me I see it as a step foward, banks pay for the first 3 while you start paying from the fourth. It would make banks provide more atms, imagine Gtb with all the customers they have in yabatech, they don't have an atm machine in yabatech.
wen we were paying 100 nails dey can't build more ATM machines den

hollandis: Its just means you guys should save. Some peoplejust indiscriminately use the ATM,for 1 naira today,17 naira. In the night and 50 naira the next morning. It doesnt make sense.Just collect 100 naira beginning of the month or any amount you deem enough to run your lifestyle. You guys dont use online banking also,so its a little bleak for you guys.
Cbn is encouraging you to save, not every policy is detrimental, moreover bank charges are applicable anywhere in america but to be frank,3 times a month is a little outrageous angry

i see no reason for them to charge an additional 65 naira..what is now the essence of the 105naira monthly maintenance charge most banks charge?
Re: ATM Fee: CBN Lied To Us by shilexholly(m): 8:35am On Aug 27, 2014

What I don't get about this whole thing is the fact that they impose on us a fee for atm withdrawals and still promote to us a cashless society.

I know of a big store who I normally buy things from in my area, I went there 3 days ago to buy bread and other stuffs with the hope of using my card but I was told they no longer use POS because the charges are too much and I don't blame them.

lincolnj88: All of you should stop being childish.....I visited china , xiuan....I was charged 180 naira for using other atms , I was charged 50 naira for using my own atms...in Uk 250naira is charged for using other atms while 100naira is charged for using ya atm.....

This is a source of revenue to banks, and as of 2009 commercial banks raised 17% of thier revenue from atm charges....this is what gives job securities to our dear brothers nd sisters working in the banks......
when sls removed it, after some while, spring bank now enterprise, keystone, access, eco, Uba droped abt 10,000 plus staffs combined.......and they hardly employs new staff except for industrial attachments....
Though it might pains me...I fully endores it...........
What I expect sls to do back then is to stop interswitch, quickteller for collecting 1000 naira as bank charges especially from us student ,which they illegally share among themselves nd d school.....

You are a liar! Which bank in UK charges £1 for ATM withdrawals irrespective of the issuing bank of the debit or credit bank?

Mention the bank. You've just exposed yourself. You've obviously never lived in the UK.

This is a welcome idea. when The 100 naira charges was removed people people didn't know their bank always pay 65 naira on other ATM withdrawals.

The main reason for this is to discourage people using ATM as their hand purse and wallets. you can imagine someone withdrawing 5000 five times in a day because 100 Naira is not charged from his or her account.

I stand with CBN on this.
