IS GENERAL MUHAMMAD BUHARI ELECTABLE?

In 2003, Muhammadu Buhari contested as Nigeria's president against former president Olusegun Obasanjo under the banner of ANPP and he lost the election.

In 2007, he re-contested against late president Umaru Musa Yaradua and also lost the election. Though, Yarádua later admitted that the election which brought him into power have some irregularities.

In 2011, Buhari also contested again against President Goodluck Jonathan under CPC and lost again.

This made it 3 consecutive times that the retired general would be losing an election against 3 different opponents.

While it may true that the election might have recorded some irregularities,it can not be concluded that the irregularities is only limited to one political party.

Now, Buhari is over 70 years and if the news is anything to go by, he his said to be preparing to contest again for the 4th time under another party, APC.

Personally speaking, i cannot support any man over 70 years to lead me in 21st century. No i can't. Especially when the said man had previously led the country before many of us were born or when we were very little.

In my view, the leaders of today shouldn't be the leaders of yesterday. Today's leaders should be youthful, resourceful, energetic, conversant with the 21st century challenges and opportunities, technologically aware and be in tandem with modern ways of leadership.

But if the 2015 election should be between GEJ and GMB, certainly, i will have no choice than support Buhari because in my view, even a 100 year old strength-less and firm leader his better than a clueless leader, but will Buhari emerge in midst of sentiments, regional and religious segregation?

But besides that, Is General Muhamadu Buhari electable considering his many previous losses?

The same INEC who conducted the 2003, 2007 and 2011 election shall be same to conduct the 2015 election. So, what will change?

The same rigging machinery still exists, what will change?

By right he is qualify to contest but from the look of things i will advice him to keep quiet and support the younger generation just like IBB, one thing the confab fail to amend is the issue of age for one to contest, imanging somebody is above 70, is still fighting for power.

Very electable also take note "agba kiwa loja kori omo tuntun owo" literally means a new born baby's head would never bend provided there is elder in the market.
Say no to corruption.

You have to pity children of nowadays and their sense of reasoning

Someone reading the OP's gibberish conjecture about Buhari's electoral history from say UK will think we are talking about elections which were free and fair.....whereas we know how PDP have always won elections in Nigeria to the extent that even the benefiaciary of a stolen mandate in 2007 Umar Musa Yar'adua confessed he was rigged into power

Yet people like OP expect any good thing to come out from election bandits that PDP have always been

Reports abound of deliberate threatning of people who might otherwise have voted Buhari in the SE and SS in most presidential election, where massive landslide rigging have always happened with active connivance of the state governors and highly inflated voter trun out hovering between 90-98% of actual voters register as if no one died, relocated, lost his/her voters card etc

Even in the North,we knew of the role played by the PDP Governors to ensure PDP got required 25% in most large Northern states knowing fully well that Jonathan cant win anywhere up North. Thank goodness most of those Governors have fallen out with GEJ hence will standby if they dont want the wrath of the people to befall them

Even at that we all know that Buhari has never really contested an election on a wide-networked National political party which APC is now is

I was privy to an unholy alliance between ACN agents and PDP's in Lagos where in PDP members took charge of situation while the ACN folks left their stations as if someone told them from on-high to do so.....and these were the guys who were hostile to each other in the Gubernatorial elections

Most polling booths across the Federation didnt have any CPC agents which left the process at the mercy of PDP who having gratified the poll clerks and security did what they knew best to do

Those of us who voted Buhari did so out of our undying love for him and not because we were given chin-chin,puff-puff,kerosene,salt,sugar or zobo yet we number 12million

But 2015 will be way different,it will be man-to-man marking and the least PDP can do is to allow the actual votes of people count

The dynamics of the last election have changed significantly and will still change before February

General Muhammad Buhari can never win any election as far as Nigeria is concerned he should forget about ever ruling this country again when he was head of state what reasonable thing did he do in Nigeria the only thing he did was to loot our money .

Honestly the keen contest brewing between the ruling party and the opposition is good for our polity. Now no single party is overly sure of victory in the forthcoming elections. LETS GO THERE.
