Let's assume you saw a laptop of 97K. You didn't have the cash, so you borrowed 50K from ur mom and 50K from ur dad = 100K. You bought the laptop which left you with 3K change. You gave ur dad 1K and ur mum 1K and kept the other 1K to yourself. Now you owe your mum 49K and ur dad 49K. Now 49K+49K = 98K + ur 1K kept = 99K.Where is the missing 1K?I know you guys are intelligent. Solve it and tell me the answer.

mods, please you can move it to the right section .....tenks

50k from dad and mom each =100 k

bought laptop for 97k
Remaining 3k

Gave dad and mom 1k each =2k
Kept the remaining 1k with you

All together making 3k (remaining change)
Plus the 97k for laptop =100k

No money is missing.

If you are owning mum 49k
And dad 49k
add the 1k with you to the money you used to buy laptop, thats 98k
Oya divide am by two.

wink

Mail me sharp sharp.

Hmm very logical. U borrowed 100k 4rm dad nd mum(50 each) and after purchase u returned 1k each(2k)...that is to say in d real sense u borrowed 49k each 4rm dem which is 98k. 97k 4 laptop, ur own 1k and the refunded 2k makes up 100k. Am i right?

@ op this is a simple but logical arithmetics which is a hard courtesy to u wrong addition .
Laptop = #97k
Balance=3k
Mom=#50k - #1k
Dad=#50k -#1k
you=#1k

why ur question was wrong was that u added #1k which u held to ur debit *u didn't understand right?*
After giving back #1k each to ur parents
debit=#98k-#1k=#97k(equivalent to laptop price)
(since the #1k isn't urs)
So there is no how u can add #1k to ur debit but u should substract

If u still don't understand @ op then u never knew maths/arithmetics
Quote me for more explanation
@ op waiting for my prize

After giving his dad and mom #1000 each and keeping #1000 for himself, you get:

Boy: #1000

Laptop: #97,000

Mom: #1000

Dad: #1000

Everything equals #100,000.

There is no missing money.

THIS. IS †ЂΞ BEST SOLUTION
U bought lapi for #97K
Divide ΐτ̅ by 2=#48,500 meaning u took from each money.
Remaining 3K.Add popsy 1K n mumsy 1K each
=#49,500 each
Sum #49,500 of popsy n #49,500 of mumsy=#99,000
Add Ur own 1K:#99000 + #1000=#100,000

My digit is :07060800232. Thank. U

That 1k left is with u..... part of the money given to your parents..... note: 49 + 49 = 98 while 50 + 50 = 100...... son if u remove 1 from both side 1 + 1 = 2 divided 2 number was all still give u 1....

u can't confuse me, the 49k he is owing his mum and dad
each which amount to 98k include his own left over 1k. so
there is no need adding his own 1k again. then the 98k + 2k
(1k paid to mum and dad each.) = 100k. i.e owe mum = 49k,
owe dad = 49k. total dept = 98k. (cost of laptop = 97k. left
over 1k). then refund made to mum and dad 1k each = 2k.
total of everything = 100k. thanks
