Despite some hiccups on the way, i believe my efforts will not go unrewarded. Several times last week i was drenched in the rain, i couldn't give up. If i can go through stress for another man's company (when i was an employee) why cant i go through stress for my own?

WIKO MOBILE www.wikomobile.com
Yes, this is the name you will be hearing very soon in Nigeria. They are getting set for a mass roll out across Nigeria and have confirmed 350 outlets across the country. Let me tell you guys about the company;

The French company, Wiko, holds a unique place in the mobile phone industry.
In just 2 years, Wiko has firmly established itself in the market, making mobile phones and the latest technological innovations accessible to all.
The 3rd* largest smartphone vendor in France, Wiko has experienced strong growth, including 2 million in sales to the end of 2013, a significant increase in market share and the opening of subsidiaries in over 10 countries in Europe and internationally: Spain, Portugal, Italy, Germany, Switzerland, Belgium, UK, Algerie, Morocco, Asia and France. Wiko has launched its first octa-core smartphone, the HIGHWAY : eight cores at 2 GHz each, a real challenge ! The design is meteoric, with its aluminium contour, back in hardened glass and slimline shape of only 7,7 mm thickness. Its 5 inch Full HD screen with incomparable resolution is protected by CORNING GORILLA Glass 2 scratch resistant technology. its 16 GB memory provides carefree storage and the super efficiency of its 2 GB provides a finishing touch to the exceptional prowess of the HIGHWAY.
Basically, all their phones comes with gorilla class and they are affordable. My company is in charge of all the selected outlets in Warri and Benin (we are also an outlet). I just got a call from the regional supervisor from Wiko that some equipments will come in on Monday or Tuesday and my team will go round installing the Wiko smart tables, wall racks, etc in these chosen outlets to prepare them for their launch. My company will also be in charge of sales monitoring, logistics, and supervision of these outlets under my jurisdiction. So......loads of work this week. cool

I was doing some marketing some time ago trying to convince an oil servicing company to let us produce their company official documentation (profile, DPR registration, Tax papers, etc) the director insisted that he's got someone he will use for the job so i relaxed and committed it in the hands of God. The extra-ordinary happened over the weekend. I was in my office on Saturday and i got a call from the company that they needed to see me urgently. So i invited them over. The company manager and another staff came and the report i got was that the guy they were relying on to produce those documents disappeared into thin air. They have paid him about half a million naira and he just vanished. So right now they have no choice but to come looking for me. I told them i will do the job and will try to deliver in time because they are supposed to begin a new pipeline project next week and without those documents there will be a problem. I gave them my consultation fees and i am still waiting for an update as they had to go and confer with their director to approve the money. So.....am waiting with my arms akimbo grin

Am trying to see if i can retain the services of an accountant (very necessary). You cannot do without one in a company especially a new start-up. Your books need to be looking good at all times, you have to do good monthly balancing and reconciliation no matter how small so at the end of the year you can produce an audited account. You might think these things dont matter but by the time you land yourself a big contract, things like these might let the contract slip by your fingers.

More updates will come soonest......pray for me folks.

@OP, I need your business advice as regard the registration of students for NECO and WAEC examination ,how does one go about it ? Already, I have contact within the proprietors of private schools in my state and I can also find my way into the midst of the ANCORPS . Similarly, explain more on the 'Documentation business' too. Thank you. God will grant us all success beyond measure.

It's a CELTA teacher training and a University of Cambridge accredited program. You get certified to get a job as an English teacher to schools, language institutions and private individuals. I have just been given a directory of jobs, it's gonna make you go "wow". Requests made daily for peeps with the CELTA certificate to start working immediately. But these job offers comes from different countries (Japan, China, Spain, Saudi Arabia, etc) and the salary is quite encouraging...

for example, i got this offer yesterday 1st of August;

The salary is approximately $2,000 (roughly about N320,000 plus benefits). I get these offers daily because of my special affiliation. I know some of you will ask "why you nor go do the training?"...trust me i love good things and as i speak to you i have my admission letter with me BUT i can't afford to go for it. I have no family support or parent's support unlike some of you. I make daily bread from my business(es) but its hard to come by bulk funds to execute something like this. I have a very good rapport with the school staff and the school director and when they saw i couldnt make it, i was offered the opportunity of working with them as a licensed agent, hence my contract with them. If i have bulk money i may decided to go ahead but that's a decision for later cos for now i have a company to build.

So my brother, if 9ja is not favorable it aint bad to explore other opportunities oh. Doing the training in Canada comes with alot of prestige cos they offer the highest certification and also going through me as your agent guarantees you your admission grin
The start dates left this year are Sept 16, 2014 (cannot be met cos no enough time to acquire visa) Oct 13, 2014 and Nov 17, 2014. There is a full time intensive training (4 weeks) and part-time training program (11 weeks). 2015 academic calender has not yet been scheduled.

The basic requirement is that you must have a degree (any degree), plus you must be from an English Speaking country (great advantage over others) and you must have some interest in teaching. wink
Does the fee include visa?How much do you think the total expense will be?

HighwayTech:

As an entrepreneur myself who loves learning from other entrepreneurs, pls can u explain: how u acquire d contacts/leads dat landed u d wiko contract and d contract with d Canadian course company

First things first, it's not just getting contacts, it's about keeping contacts. Most of the contacts i get are a result of my journey as a web developer. I meet alot of people from everywhere, the ones i like i keep close to me, the ones i dislike i discard. I always go along with the saying that "anything worth doing is worth doing well", so no matter how small and "cheap" the job is, i always do it to near perfection and because of that the clients always call me for more jobs. The person that helped me land the Wiko contract was someone i actually met here on nairaland who requested for a web developer to help do a small job. Now, the job was for 5k and i did it perfectly and he paid me 8k. I treated him like one of my high paying clients....Now, i have been working for him now for over a year and we haven't even set eyes on each other not even once! I have lots of clients like that. He is based in Lagos and when he got access to the Wiko thing, and they told him they needed someone in Delta State, he was quick to recommend me because of our past relationship.

So as an entrepreneur you are on a journey, and on that journey you will meet people. Learn to see the ones with future potential and stay close to them. Even if they give you a job and they wont pay the big bucks, still hold on to them because if you cant eat from them you will definitely eat from someone close to them. You have to be able to discern good businessmen from the lot. That's how you build contacts: recommendation and references. If you are good to me, i will definitely recommend your service. Simple strategy.

As for the Canadian thing, i was able to achieve that because i am a quick thinker. As an entrepreneur, what makes you climb high is your ability to think outside the box. I applied for the program, i was granted admission, BUT i didn't have money to travel. Now because of the back and forth conversation with the school i already have a rapport which i quickly utilized. Most times your clients may not know it all, but if you think quickly you can recommend solutions that will "wow" them and that might just be your pivot to excellence.

Updates..

Good morning folks....yeah, i have not been sleeping ***working, working and working***

Last week i had some interesting work related stuff to look forward to but unfortunately nothing really happened and i believed it was as a result of the public holidays. Am still expecting equipments from WikoMobile and i was told yesterday they would soon arrive Warri. But they would be sending some money for logistics first before we commence operations. Also, earlier I planned some computer engineering training but right now am just too busy to give it some attention so i am thinking of postponing it AGAIN

Lets see what this week will unfold. For those of you who would love to communicate with me more on a personal note, you can reach me via;

Good day folks.....

my new web project www.officemanager.com.ng has been keeping me busy despite some minor challenges it brought my way (lots of people placing orders and non going as far as making payments angry ) I always keep late nights processing orders and not receiving any payments. But for the fact that i get orders to process, it means am on track. I guess i have to make some changes to the website. One of my bosses has really been encouraging me on grin

That aside, all is moving well and smoothly for now. May God remove all glitches from my hustle and keep opening doors because am a child of destiny and awesome Grace!!

AMEN!

Congrats Bro

Bro I remember you talking about DPR registration a while back, I'm in the process of doing mine now, I'm looking through the guidelines they produced, if I want to register maybe 3 services under major category do I have to pay the 25k thrice? How long does it take for an approval for a new license? If I've applied for a permit before and need to add more does it make the process faster? Thanks.
