proposing projects and executing projects are 2 different things we have all seen all manner photoshop, photo draws on the proposed rail project and some innocent traders in Maza Maza , mile 2 had their buildings demolished to make way for the project and uptill now nothing is on ground and his term is 90 % finished .

How about the lekki international Airport and Sea port that drove lagosians into the frenzy of deporting hardworking people goin about their normal businesses and dumping at the Onitsha Bridge head in the name of cleaning up the city meanwhile allowing cultist, Societal Riff raffs and invalids who are from the south west to roam freely, elsewhere Delta And Akwa Ibom state delivered International Airports without any noise and Jigawa delivered a domestic Airport without deporting anybody.
Lagos witnessed so much activity but very little results
You're obviously far away from Lagos with what u saying.

I grew up here so I witnessed the full 80's till date. I can give you the history of the decay of Lagos and how it currently undergoing a positive turn around.

All ur info isn't first hand.

I never expected this from you. Go read up about monorails and understand why this is not an easy fit. There are cheaper alternatives though but it is still a good project for a rich State with high traffic challenges like Rivers. Amaechi did everything as a leader from agriculture to education to roads to power to human resources to employment.

How many more public buses could he have put on the ground with the funds used on this 1 monorail that will carry several times more people several times further? How about alternative roads? If it's a traffic issue he could have built bike lanes for 10% the cost of this project. With the level of access to sea and Rivers he could have turned PH/Rivers into a model for water transport at 50% the cost of this project. He could have incorporated air transport. He could have build a railroad to the next major city (Aba) and a fraction of the cost of this project.

With all that is spent he only has a monorail that goes the same distance as a 50 naira taxi or okada. That's a very sad and deplorable waste of funds

This is definitive mismanagement. I don't care what he did elsewhere, successes in other sectors don't exempt him for error or flaw. If this project was a miscalculation then it was driven more by ego and bombast than ration and necessity and this isn't good. If it was driven by corruption as many are assuming/accusing then Governor Amaechi needs to be checked regardless of his success in agriculture.

I was formerly against this project until I read about monorails recently. My reasons are not different from the instances you just gave but if the project is continued at this pace then in the next 8 years it should be at Waterlines junction. Remember this project was meant to be a PPP but the idea was killed by political tussle which left Rivers government with the challenges of 100% funding the phase 1.

Amaechi used to be my favorite governor until his second term. I don't know what happened to him but he has turned himself into a clown. A lot of his projects are admirable and a model for development but he has become comfortable failing as long as he can blame someone in gejs family. He will even do it with a smile

I think amaechi blames all his planning failures on the fed. If it's a political issue, he's a politician, its his stock and trade to deal with political issues so the excus edite seems more like an abdication of real leadership. Monorails are great when they don't cost the same as hundreds of road, bike, and walk ways. I've always been against massive projects because they're difficult to execute as planned and budgeted. Amaechi, at this cost could have made ph and enviable model for transport. South korea was able to cut a beautiful man made lake and incorporate water transport in the heart of their capital and here's ph with water in under and around it spending a states total annual budget on an okada ride

I agree with you but you seem not to understand that projects cost 10times more in Nigeria with my only known exception being Imo State under Okorocha. To create the South Korea model in Nigeria will cost tens of billions of Dollars or trillions of Naira because of many factors.

Is it with WAEC results or facilities on ground? We should stop deceiving ourselves and say the raw truth. What we should use to rate success in basic education is primary school enrolment and advanced education is University degree to doctorate. The recent WAEC importance was started to give undue credence to Peter Obi. I say this because the State performance was announced for the 1st time in 2013 since I was born. If you have that of other years prior to 2013 I will like to see them or a link to them.

most of you castigating this project may are just enemies of progress. that was how the mile one fly over was condemned and libeled elephant project. but now it is the reason that their is no traffic connection in that part of the town.
they are just in the first phase of the monorail projct and hopefully the next gov will complete up the project

Please let's call a Spade a spade.
The monorail is scam, the distance of this monorail from one end to the other is a trekable distance so why did he spend so much knowing that Nobody will use it?

If you've never been to Rivers state, don't be decieved by what demde.m posted up there.
The project is one of the Many mistakes of Amaechi.

Rivers has better facilities but anambra has better people. I like obi because his projects were for bombast and showmanship. People in their ignorance declared he was a non performer because he wasnt developing nta and channelstv. Suddenly when test scores came out, people saw who was doing what and who was making noise. When all of these industrialists and federal projects started reigning in their investments in anambra the sky's became clear. Not to say obi was amiable because anambra still looks like a war zone but im more into results than noise. This is why I like Sullivan

Its pathetic that you can only see the world through apc and pdp. I hope one of those potbellied men feed you one day. Fool. If you would reason you would know that my and everyone's problem with amaechi is EVERY project started in his 1st term and none on his second. Im reality the second is a wasted term because nothing has been done what so ever. If he carried his 1st term energy over to his second nobody would speak but here we are discussing apc and pdp while the budget of a small african country is spent on an okada ride in a ph that still has dilapidated roads. Go apc your father. Fool

Abeg spare me the hypocrisy and come all out of your closet. You cannot compare Amaechi with any Governor of his income class like Akpabio, Uduaghan, Jonathan/Sylva/Dickson in all aspects of governance. The Presidency is fighting Amaechi from all angles but yet he refused to stumble and is adding more and more to his achievements. They have gone to media blackmail but I Abagworo am on ground and will not let lies cover the truth.

You should always add the words "white elephant" before the word project. It is a fraud! Simple! And a conduit for Amaechi's massive corruption. Posting 20 pictures from different angles will not change that fact! Sorry. grin grin grin

And to add that the pictures actually look like an ongoing demolition. cheesy cheesy cheesy
