Well done for sacking coaching for one reason; his egocentric attitude, biased selection and his inability to manage the players under his care. He felt that he can NEVER be removed by anybody not forgetting that in Nigeria, same media that praised you will also call for your removal.

How can a coach be having issues with all the players under his care? Always looking for ways to lay blames on.
In fact, I am happy that someone like him who felt that he has arrived can be removed and replaced. Despite that Amodu is been replaced as an interim coach no matter his rusty brain, I still believe that he can look at these young boys and give them a chance. Keshi's team selection has been a biased issue.

anybody knows what this dude is talking about do u watch soccer or rugby?
arsetalks:
Let's not kid ourselves, our coaches bar maybe Oliseh and Siasia are not ready and the main reason is the sports ministry and the NFF do nothing to help this coaches.

When last did they organise clinics for them? When last were they sent on refresher courses abroad or placements at other clubs so they can learn one or two things?

How many of them have UEFA band A licenses? Let's not be sentimental about our coaches, they are simply not good enough.

Good a thing people like Di Matteo and David Moyes are currently available. They are good enough for us and can lead us to glory if we finally will allow coaches stay on the job for say 4-6 years and let them build their own teams without interference.

People will argue why the choice of Di Matteo and David Moyes. To that I say their records speak for them.

Di Matteo did a good job with West Brom with players that are a little better or simply at par with our players. He went to Chelsea a team that puts the coaches under undue pressure and took a declining team to the pinnacle of European football ( yes, he won playing football that I can't be proud of and as much as I hate Chelsea, I must say it, they achieved what my darling Arsenal hasn't been able to achieve in over 25 years of trying and it is kudos to Di Matteo).

David Moyes managed Everton above their level for many years and even qualified for the champions league. The players he had to use to achieve what he achieved with Everton are at par to what will be available for him with the eagles.

Forget what happened to him at United he had an impossible job. Many United fans will not agree but I think Moyes was deliberately used so to relieve the pressure on whoever takes over. Moyes will have Sir Alex as his yard stick ( failure for sure) and now that Moyes is sacked, Van Gaal is practically under no pressure as Sir Alex isn't his yard stick but instead Moyes.

Dennis Bergkamp is also available so also is Steve Clarke, Steve Bruce can also be convinced.

All these coaches play our type of football and they have a record of getting the best out of a tad average players.

Laurent Blanc is also available.

What happened to Keshi is the same thing that happened to andres Vilas boas at Chelsea..
When a manager believes he is bigger than the team, the team will turn against you and make u pay with ur job...
The Nigerian team planned for his dismissal..
Uche brothers, and osaze loyal lads are still on the team so why won't they play nonsense and make Keshi look cheap? Adios keshi

Hold on! Do we have 2 Amodu as a National coach in this country? I hope it is not the same Amodu, that enjoyed coming to the UK to eat with the likes of Mikel @ the Burger King before doing shopping for him to come back to Nigeria. How I wish NFF will continue with Keshi, because if Keshi is bad, then Amodu is the baddest.

on the contrary he was the one that qualified Nigeria for two world cups of our 5 WCs. Keshi sack is a welcome development. He's too egocentric and clueless

Problems with Nigerian Football Federation
1. They want quick result.
2. They don't believe football is all about, 'you win some, you loose some'.
3. The coach must not drop their favorite player even if he disrespects him.
4. They must be part of your match line up selection.
5. They are never contented with what they have

Well, they once said, 'Siasia is stubborn' but remember that with that stubbornness, he got us result and when they couldn't just manipulate him, they sacked him.

Keshi came when Nigeria's football was almost dead and forgotten, they still said same thing- 'Keshi is stubborn'. He gave a deaf ear, made his own selection to nation's cup and gave us good result. He was almost nailed to the cross during the world cup (including those who claimed world cup wasn't for boys) and decided to listen to the 'OGAS AT THE TOP'. Well, we saw the outcome. Now he wants to do his stuff his own way but they are saying it again- 'Keshi is stubborn'. Hence, He's sacked.

I didn't expect less from the NFF anyway and I hope their next coach remains permanent because whether foreign or local coach, once you're branded "stubborn", you won't last! The USA '94 coach, Westerhoff (correct my spelling please) can attest to this.
I wish them luck!

I de laugh o! oga na today na stubborn coach we de always employ na, abi the new coaches no stubborn

Nigeria employing stubborn coaches since 1914 we never see anything

Which way Nigeria? Even though I have never been a fan of S. kechi, there is no way anyone can convince me that Amodu is technically better as they are both deficient but one has done better in recent times.

For me I see a plot here which is, get amodu now and if he fails to qualify us for the ACN, sack him and employ siasia or a foreign coach just like setting one up to fail.
If amodu is wise he should decline, but who does such a thing? An opportunity to share out of the national cake.

which capable and disengaged coach that is available at the moment... the best option is to go for amodu on interim bases, while they sort out for a better option.. i think what eagles conspicuously needed is a technical adviser (which keshi arrogantly refuse the need for one)

What is a technical adviser? Get a coach/manager and let him choose his back room staff. The NFF wanted to employ a technical adviser for Keshi so that he could help to spy on opponents and analyse their pattern of play and I'm like seriously; we don't have that already? NFF have a technical committee which has ex-internationals in it. What is their job, if not scouting, spying and supplying technical input for all our national teams.

This is a bad move on the part of NFF. Keshi has done a lot for our national team and is still doing. Why now, why not allow him finish the remaining matches. What magic is Amodu going to put that will change the fortune. This sack to me now will bring more negativity than good.
Pinnich said on assumption of office that he doesn't like Keshi and that's what is playing out but at the wrong time. This move is pure gamble cos if SE wins their next 2 matches, he takes credit and if they lose he will receive lashing from Nigeria. Keshi stands a better chance of winning the next 2 matches.
We criticises a lot, must we win all the time. We must learn to accept defeat occasionally. Our gentle support and positive criticism is all they need. Let's always remember the good times. On the move to engage a foreign technical advice, I don't support that. Why not send our local tacticians for training and under-study.
This move is definitely going to take us back. Praying for a proactive solution in our sports administration.

God Bless Nigeria.

by the records, Amodu has qualified Nigeria for two world cups..first in 2002 but got sacked even before the tournament kicked off in korea/japan...secondly, he qualified Nigeria again in 2010, he got sacked before South Africa 2010. Its seems thats his mission in the super eagle, qualify us, then get sacked. Pls let him be

Nice one, NFF.
If Amodu qualifies,,, please, let him take the Super Eagle to Nations Cup.
The month of November and January is too close to appoint a new foreign coach abeg.
INFACT, The Idea Of Foreign Coach Is Not A Necessity For Us.
The Nff president was talking about our need to start playing high scientific football,,
I believe that We can achieve that with our local coach jooor.

What kinda foreign coach?
They should not bring a Phillip Trouisier or Berti Vogts wannabe!

We need a world class coach. They should be ready to pay his huge salary, by the time we win the World Cup or AFCON 3 times in a row, they ll know that we v not wasted our money...

Have we ever been appreciative of our heroes in every aspect of our existence. Amodu qualified us after the Almighty Bonfrere Joe absconded in Sierra Leone, we sacked him and put another coach, played 3matches at the World Cup and won none. Then same Amodu played 12 matches at the qualifiers, won ten drew one and lost one qualifying us again, we only sacked him and replaced him with laggerback who could not qualify Sweden, result was play 3, and won none. The best any foreign coach did was win Nation's cup and get to second round of World Cup this was equalled by Keshi, wetin dey worry us sef. Now that we have sacked Keshi,we would see what happens. Na Politicians fit us as dem dey treat us. Unappreciative lots
