What happened to Keshi is the same thing that happened to andres Vilas boas at Chelsea..
When a manager believes he is bigger than the team, the team will turn against you and make u pay with ur job...
The Nigerian team planned for his dismissal..
Uche brothers, and osaze loyal lads are still on the team so why won't they play nonsense and make Keshi look cheap? Adios keshi

Well said.

It's long overdue, we won AFCON by sheer luck not cause of keshi tactics and intelligence. He is definitely not the man we need, he was so full of himself, never takes instruction. He made some of us look like a fool. He was lucky to remain in the team upto this moment. Goodluck to him
"he was full of himself. "HOW?"
"never takes instructions."FROM WHO IF I MAY ASK?
"He made some of us look like a fool". WHO R D "SOME OF US"? AND WHO THE HELL ARE YOU?

Keshi is out of contract for crying out loud and is even still being owed. So exactly how did they sack him?

It's a confused circle, please get a foreign coach and stop turning around local coaches that don't even have a qualification to coach. They think because someone was a good player, then he would be a good coach. Very soon, they will sack Amodu and put Okocha.

by the records, Amodu has qualified Nigeria for two world cups..first in 2002 but got sacked even before the tournament kicked off in korea/japan...secondly, he qualified Nigeria again in 2010, he got sacked before South Africa 2010. Its seems thats his mission in the super eagle, qualify us, then get sacked. Pls let him be

We people of Nigeria needs to understand keshi's style of play. You need him more than anything cos the afcon he won was like play like play. People talks and he will always change there mind with his future results but he doesn't start well.

Keshi allowed himself to be messed up and unceremoniously booted out because he didn't understand his time and season as super eagles' coach hence he failed to use the exist door when it was time to do so and when the ovation was still high rather he resorted using some formats to cajole NFF and Nigerians into extending his stay even when it was obvious that had nothing new to offer. Everything pointed to the fact that Keshi's time as super eagles' coach ended with the world cup and that right thing to do was to leave honourably albeit the sit-tight mentality of the typical African would not allow him see the realities on ground hence he fell from grace to grass and have forced to leave, which for me is not a good finishing for the only indigenous coach to win the nation's cup for Nigeria.... People must understand that every man has his time and season to function and also learn to leave when it's time to leave... As good Pep Guardiola was with Barca ( i think the most successful coach in the club's history), he decided to step down on his own when he realized that the motivation was no-longer there ... Nelson Mandela had opportunity to stay for another term as South African President yet he decided to leave because he understood his time and season and today the whole world is celebrating him even in death.... This is a personal view to life in general .

Emmysteve:
The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) in the early hours of Thursday have announced the contract termination of Coach Stephen Keshi as the Super Eagles head coach.

After a long hours meeting of the Executive board members held at the Transcrop hilton hotel in Abuja the board unanimously agreed to part away with the Big Boss and his technical crew.

Speaking with cross section of the press shortly after the meeting at 1am Nigeria time on Thursday, first vice President of the Federation, Barr. Seyi Akinwunmi said the Federation appreciated Keshi and will give due support to him and his technical crew.
“You could recall Keshi and his technical crew
contract expired after the World cup, and the federation have decided not to renew their contract,” Akinwunmi revealed.

“The Federation appreciated his effort for the success he achieved and the development of our football.
“We have decided to sponsor him and his technical crew (Daniel Amokachi and Ike Shoromu) to any choice of their coaching school to acquire for more knowledge in the game at our expenses,” Akinwunmi said.

Former Niger Tornadoes player, Shaibu Amodu returns as the team interim coach to be assisted with three coaches from the Glo Premier League.
“We have two more important matches in the
qualifiers which we hope to secure full points, and qualify for the Nations Cup.

“Coach Amodu will take over of the team as interim coach, to be assisted by Salisu Yusuf (El Kanemi Warriors) and Gbenga Ogunbote (Sharks FC) while former Green Eagles goalkeeper, Alloy Agu will be the goalkeeper trainer,” the NFF official divulge.

Super Eagles will travel next month to face
Congo and host South Africa in Nigeria in the last phase of the qualifiers.

Wrong timing. NFf has ruined any chance of qualification. And for those headless Nigerians celebrating, I don't know how well you ve thought out how this is going to affect your team.

The boys are loyal to Keshi, Amodu can't get that loyalty.
See the way they celebrated with the coaching crew after their coaching crew yesterday after the victory, and you think they will excited about this news.

You think they are all chicken brained to forget that Nigerians are ungrateful, quick to forget sacrifices and castigate at every little set back.

You think inviting Obafemi, Ike and Iheanacho wil make Amodu the goood guy and singulary give Nigeria ticket to d Nations cup! grin

NFF. Has failed to put their house in order by concluding Keshi contract issues to give him time to prepare for the oncomng task. They are quick to sack for their own failure.

Nigerian called for Keshi sack, what other alternative was available other than Amodu and Siasia? Atleast they got one. My opinion: None of these two guys is a match for Keshi.

I ll be back on Nairaland to celebrate the failure on this senseless decison.

Well done for sacking coaching for one reason; his egocentric attitude, biased selection and his inability to manage the players under his care. He felt that he can NEVER be removed by anybody not forgetting that in Nigeria, same media that praised you will also call for your removal.

How can a coach be having issues with all the players under his care? Always looking for ways to lay blames on.
In fact, I am happy that someone like him who felt that he has arrived can be removed and replaced. Despite that Amodu is been replaced as an interim coach no matter his rusty brain, I still believe that he can look at these young boys and give them a chance. Keshi's team selection has been a biased issue.
how many players did had problems with or yoiu just wnt to type rubbish?
