Mata tho smh. the terrible free-kick he played in the first half sef, na wa. he was soo in a hurry to take it, i don't even know why!
for all the frustrating gimmicks of Januzaj, let's not forget formative years of a talented player is very frustrating and this is even his first start/90' of the season. i don't get the gross impatience with guys here about the lad. even if he was the worst player on the pitch... so? na wa o.
i see Ruudie and some other folks defending van Persie like their life depend on it, even when it is daylight, that he hasn't earned a single starting berth this season. same with elampiro and some others defending Rooney for long spells when he was beyond abysmal.
let's allow van Gaal nuture him the way he thinks is best, the club will still be the biggest winners in the situation no matter what.

Mata didn't want RVP or Di Maria to take the free kick. So he didn't settle down. I think it was a good position for RVP. Although any one of the three could do justice from there.
Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by chrisley024(m): 12:15am On Oct 21, 2014
My own is that we should stop crossing our corners. It's just a waste of possession.
Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by elampiro(m): 12:17am On Oct 21, 2014
SailorXY, why are you bringing Rooney into this match?

Rooney scored 17 goals and assisted 10 last season. That was decent. This season with all the stars and world class coach, what have we achieved?

Yeah, since RvP refused to give him a simple pass in the opponent's box.

RVP must have a serious mental illness, I can't understand how his decision making has gotten this poor.

he should stop believing in his own hype...
he has regressed badly....everytime he got the ball, he had no ideas on what to do with it. he's more concerned about stroking the ball 5-7 touches and then does something very stüpid with it.

he needs to be loaned. no one is questioning is talent but not playing for weeks isn't helping his development too. when ronaldo was here, we had plenty of other tough characters in the squad so we could afford to have ronaldo & not worry about his excesses. the situation is different now - we need to win games & januzaj's excesses is unaffordable.

last season didn't happen for any United fan. this season, we are on the right path to recovery wether you believe it or not. the team work is returning, the threat upfront is fierce & could've been better IMO without the persistent use of van Persie every 90'. there is a good enough bench to turn to; and yes, Fellaini is doing what we knew him for @ Everton again.

if you see no good performance proliferation, that's your own slice of fish-cake

Louis van Gaal cut a frustrated
figure after his Manchester
United side were denied a first
away win by West Bromwich
Albion on Monday night. In fact, the hosts twice threatened
to claim a victory themselves,
edging in front through Stephane
Sessegnon and Saido Berahino
before Marouane Fellaini and
Daley Blind levelled the scores at 1-1 and 2-2 respectively. "I am very disappointed, the
result was not good enough,"
said van Gaal in his post-match
interview. "I think we could have won and
that’s why I’m disappointed. I
have to be happy that we created
lots of chances and West Brom
had only two shots – but their
two shots were both goals! We gave the game away with our
errors which is a pity as it could
have been a new start if we’d
have won here – that was
possible, I believe." When asked if his side had given
too much space to West Brom's
attacking players for the two
goals, van Gaal replied: "Yes,
that’s also a part of the individual
errors [we made]. West Brom were playing more narrow in
midfield and our wide defenders
were pushing up and giving
away too much space." For a while it seemed a tactical
change by van Gaal would pay
dividends, when his half-time
substitute Fellaini scored just
three minutes after coming on
and United pressed the Baggies back into their own area

I think our defenders should defend and leave the business of attack for the forwards. They should play closely together.

If we are to defend high up the pitch, then we need guys with quick legs- Jones and Smalling pairing. High defence help us to press the opponents, but we need to be able to recover to prevent one vs one situations with the goalkeeper. In the past when we played high defence, we had two men in front of our defence (mostly two of Anderson, Fletcher, Cleverley). The mobility of the back six restricted the opponents to no chance of coming one vs one with our goalkeeper, or even having a chance to have a clear chance to shoot.

When we played Vidic and Ferdinand, they defended very deep. Any crossing into our box was a bonus/'dash' for Van Der Sar if it went any where close the 6-8 yard. Anything else have to be headed away by Vidic or Brown. On the ground battle, there was great understanding.

This time we have to decide which way to defend. Against big teams, we shouldn't make the mistake of playing high. My opinion.

phil jones is a morön...

he was our best defender before his injury but his decision to break the lines to go looking for a ball he wasn't close to was the reason for the 2nd goal.

if he had stood his ground, that pass wouldn't have been made by west brom. better still, he would be goal side of berahino & jones' pace would have recovered the ball if there was a foot race between him & berahino.

Is this not what ought to have been corrected during the match?

Anyway, this is somewhat my opinion earlier. We have too many men pushing into attacking positions. If Rafael pushes forward, then Blind and Shaw should stay back. We have enough fire power upfront to win matches. If the forward cannot score, that is their headache jor. In a nutshell, we should be prudent in getting back men into attacking area.

O boy we spent almost 200 million. Make the result dey happen already. Time is ticking na. After our matches with Chelsea and City, hmmm. .......May be Arsenal and Liverpool will take 6 points. We need at least three points from the next two matches to remain 'relevant'.

all that money spent hasn't fixed the defence, that is where the issues still lie. the defence is the reason this team is not balanced yet. individually good players, but time is needed to forge bond. Chelshit can run their mouth like they want, but they have been more lucky with injuries to their back six (defenders). the cohesion seen in their back line (parking the bus aside) is time-related, not by magic

Jones and Rojo played Berahino offside even before Jones went for the tackle. Looking at this this gif, I think Michael Owen was right when he put the blame squarely on Rafael.

Another thing your gif did not show was that Berahino was marked by Rojo before Jones moved out. Rojo ought to have kept an eye on him and keep close.

Mou parks the bus against elite teams.
The only elite team apart from chelsea in the EPL is city.
And even then, Mou did not really park the bus that much at the emirates.

•I was hoping to see di Maria swap wings with the lethargic januzaj but unfortunately, it didn't happen.

• Luke shaw got foward a lot but his deliveries were simply not good enough.

• it's unfortunate mata has been making us "miss" rooney. As e no see "tap in" chance yesterday, he was uber- useless as usual.

• For whatever reasons, we have played Leicester, westbrom, Sunderland and Swansea yet we have only gotten 2 points from those 4games shocked

In a team this packed you have to seize your chances LVG won't be starting JzJ anytime soon.
RVP gets a pass from me because his Purchase was a gamble that paid off but now we get to suffer the downside of that transaction.
Don't talk bad about rooney,it is forbidden now.
Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by elampiro(m): 7:54am On Oct 21, 2014
This idea of playing one striker appeals to me. It enables us to have more men in the midfield. But we cannot afford to have two big strikers on the bench. Two strikers won't be bad if the formation is 4-4-2.

Januzaj need game time, its that simple. RvP & Mata are off-form despite their constant time on the pitch. let their spot be transferred to Falcao, Wilson & Januzaj, if they come up to speed faster, then they should retain their spots #finish

why should we 'suffer' the downside of van Persie when there are others on the bench? wetin you mean sef

I didn't 'talk bad' of Rooney, only buttressed a point! as a matter of fact, his absence has been glaring, thanks to Mata
