Let the price continue to fall for all I care! Let's see how these thieving politicians won't change for good!

Nigeria has been raped for too long! You can see fat jaws finance minister speaking from an already prepared script.. ECA indeed, account that only exist in the National Dailies!!

When oil falls to a budget deficit, they will increase taxes, that is what Mackenzie will recommend, but the looting continues.
Re: Nigeria At Risk Over Falling Oil Price : FG by Dee60: 9:06am On Oct 27, 2014
Looting is the issue!

When oil sold at less than USD32 per barrel, our naira exchange for N18 to a dollar!

God should have Mercy on Nigerians and Nigerian Govt should equally fear God.
They should cut down their looting to cushion the shortfall.

Nigeria is not going to shake because of low oil prices but because of poor policy makers...

when Oil prices were high what did u do with excessive income?

the middle east oil countries used their excessive income to diversify their economy like UAE/Dubai; Qatar/doha etc; why didnt Nigeria do that?

time and time again; it has been said and proven that u make more money via exporting refined petroleum products not the crude Oil it self; tell me wat has Nigeria govt. done in terms of refineries Refinery are very very simple to build these days... jst buy one from Europe or USA and come and mount it in Nigeria... atleast the Niger-delta so called Illegal refineries have told us that there is no big deal in building refineries... so why is that the govt. hasnt built nor given permits to private investors to build every thing only DANGOTE....i laugh in spanish...

so u dont blame low Oil prices thats affected via the law of demand & supply but the carelessness or corruption or wickedness ( because the govt. always knows the right thing to do but they dont jst want to do it..) of the Nigeria governments right from IBB to OBJ to GEJ...

Saudi arabia whose economy is almost totally dependent on oil is collaborating with America, now the world's major oil supplier and whose economy is non oil driven, to punish Putin and crumble their own( Saudi arabia's) economy. Doesn't make sense.

Said it on here couple of weeks ago, we are heading into all sorts of trouble, analysts expect it to fall to $70pb very soon. Expect us to sell below our benchmark, setting the benchmark that high in an election here was foolishness of the highest order.

For the first time in 40 years from July the US has stopped buying crude from Nigeria, means Nigeria will need to compete for market share in Asia, the market dominated by #Saudi, Kuwait, etc" I doubt we stand a chance over there.

The government should see the falling oil prices as an opportunity to diversify the economy. Agriculture is one major area we can use for that.

Refineries doesn't help when it comes to falling oil prices. Diversified economy is the important factor

They just noticed? A trend that has been anticipated long before now, with Shale oil and new oil discoveries found almost everywhere in Africa and Reservoirs that were seen as unprofitable are now profitable.
Global Economic growth is shrinking, even the Manufacturing power house like China's economic growth forecast has reduced. If the Supply for Oil outwit it demand greatly prices will drop. Gas supply also has increased from LNG plants across the globe. But even for 2015 budget we still pegged the price of Crude Oil above $75 per barrel. Even in an election year. That's sickening to say the least, plus a Military budget of close to 1 trillion this year in review and we still had to take a loan of $1billion dollars. Having 2 ministers in a Ministry, the National Assembly and Senate keep voting huge cash to themselves for sitting.

We all see where we are Heading!!!

It is another election year, Nigerians have refused to ask the right questions, what is PDP and APC's energy plan?
what are their foreign policies? suffering and smiling as usual, I pity the civil servants.
The senate has rushed to remove minimum wage so they can pay anything when the going gets tough, grin grin

It actually makes sense. The US and the Saudis flood the market when they want to drop/raise the oil price. They have been doing that for a long time.

Not when America is now a competitor and a threat to Saudi Arabia's oil market. You can't collaborate with your competitor to crash your own economy. Thats why it doesnt make sense. Apart from Nigeria and maybe venezeula, Saudi Arabia stands to lose the most with oil selling at the current price.

I don't really care about statistics. But i think it is interesting to know that, on the average, Nigeria generate 900 Billion Naira in revenue every month, from both oil and non oil sources.
It is also note worthy that 70% of Nigerians live below the poverty line, which is close to 2 dollars per day.
My question is if Nigeria generates such huge income every month, then how come the majority of the population is wallowing in poverty?? Really mind boggling! What is the money used for? I don't think it is for the development of this country either. Cos no electricity in my house for the past three days, the generator has been constantly up and running. The road to my house was constructed through the combined efforts of the residents of my street. Public schools are nothing to write home about. Our hospitals are ill equipped. Insecurity is the norm, not the exception..No social security e.t.c. In fact, nothing works in Nigeria.
Seems the 900 billion naira is utilized in funding the lavish lifestyles of our corrupt politicians, clergymen and unscrupulous businessmen.
It is high time we demanded that the 900 billion naira be used for what it is actually meant to be used for.
#return our 900 billion naira

US and Saudi Arabia needs lower oil prices to pressure Russia/Iran on Syria and Ukraine/ nuclear talks. Thou it would temporarily affect US shale gas market and Saudi economy, They are willing to take the hit as long as it serves that purpose. The important thing is that the volume of oil production hasn't gone down among OPEC/ oil producing states in other to bring the price back up.
If there is no collusion, Oil countries would be cutting their production to raise the price and that hasn't happened yet. how do you explain that?

The Saudis can withstand the new price for a long time. They have a huge reverse to cover costs.

For where, the three largest reserves in the world i. e saudi , Venezuela and Canada are still pumping out oil like tomorrow no dey. There have been some lay offs in Canadian oil companies though cos of the price drop. Cheaper oil at gas stations too.

Hate them or love them...when USA sneezes, the world catches cold.

As I stated earlier, war in 2014 and beyond could be physical or in economics. Lower oil price is American way of putting Russia where they belong. Russian economy is going down with oil prices. They can stir up the pot as much as they want, the them Yankees will keep fracking and their Hedgies will keep dumping until Putin bows down to the "bigger" boys.

Saudi has already given OPEC the middle finger. ISIS is selling at $35/barrel. Nigeria is truly inconsequential in the global arena. So folks, be ready to use your crude oil to cook soup soon.

By the way, if the trend continues, I see unrest in some countries soon similar to Middle East crisis that ate up some of their supposedly invincible leaders in Libya and Egypt. Lol.

There are boys. And there are men. Some people run this shit.

What are they waiting for before reducing the pump price of fuel? If the price of Crude goes they will increase the pump price in the name of subsidy removal. President YAR'ADUA reduces the price of fuel when the price of Crude oil reduces.
When price goes up they are at risks and when it's goes down they are at risk . It's all IWEALA ECONOMIC BAHAHA "419' AGAINST THE MASSES

We just continue to go round a vicious circle in this country. Much talk, less action. Let them make do with focussing more on the real sector first, we can then take it from there.
