In my secondary days I was told the NLC is one of the pressure groups during my classes on Pressure Groups in Government. I was told they try to influence, support any political party or idea in the build-up to an election that would drive home their yearnings. Telling the generals to do away with religious politics is not a bad idea.

Our problem has been that of sentiment and unbridal banalities.... Take for instance, what has Goodluck, a christian done for christians? The right candidate to take this country to the promise land is certainly one devoid of religious consideration and fanatism. Pagan-pagan candidadte probably would have been the right person for the job i guess. There are certain things he shouldn't say because of where Nigeria is at the moment. Many years ago, Nigerians didn't mind a Muslim-Muslim candidate ie Tofa and MkO Abiola. In fact we welcomed it because we were fedup of the military.

as far as am concerned, OBJ did nothing wrong by defending his faith. channel ur blame on buhari. what is buhari looking in aso rock? i think what is needed urgently is peoples constitution that will bring age bracket for people seeking to be elected as presidents. buhari is very well known as a religious fanatics and Christians will pretend to keep deaf ears on issues concerning their faith. Take it to anywhere, there must be checks and balances on issues bordering on religion in Nigeria, else u know the consequences. IF RELIGION IS NOT PUT INTO CONSIDERATION IN NIGERIA ON SELECTING THE OCCUPANTS OF THE FIRST AND SECOND SECOND SEATS IN THE COUNTRY, THEN WITH THE LIKES OF BUHARI, MANY WILL BE VICTIMIZED.

NLC are being ran by nigerians so they obviously have a say in the affairs of the country. OBJ may not have said the right thing, but i agree with him cause there is the actual and potential. We need to understand this country, its so diverse in religion and language and that change we believe can not just come instantly. There must be sacrifices, not only from our leaders but from us.
