Greetings.

I'm working on bringing in Mobil1 oils as well as other maintenance parts in.

Price of a jug (5 quarts) should be around N10k and I'm thinking of running a special to include oil filter.

Read more on Kuluso or NaijaDrives (see signature).

Thanks.

what sort of prices would you sell conventional or semi synthetic?

anneki: what sort of prices would you sell conventional or semi synthetic?

What brand and weight would you be interested in?

What I can assure you of though is that it will be the cheapest you'll find on NL for the same brand/weight/volume. My approach to this is to sell more for less.
Re: Choice Of Engine Oil ? by anneki(m): 1:40am On Aug 29, 2014
Nice. This way we can have options btw conventional, synthetic blend, or full synthetic.
Re: Choice Of Engine Oil ? by Nobody: 2:19am On Aug 29, 2014
For conventional, Mobil Super in various weights, for a 5qt jug will be right around N6,500, blends would be about N8,500

Thanks.

Check your email. I a hint on how you can make it cheap and sell imported synthetic just a little above conventional oil.
Thanks

Finally got delivery of 5W-30 Mobil 1 fully synthetic oil and 5W-30 Mobil 1 extended performance together with mobil 1 filter for 2005 corolla and 2008 honda accord.

Been using 0W40 on both cars, I now pan to try out the extended performance on the corolla and the other mobil1 on the honda.

My honda manual States 5W20 but I would just prefer to use 5W30.

Re: Choice Of Engine Oil ? by tsiriman(m): 5:14pm On Oct 18, 2014
The extended performance filter for the corolla.
But i don't plan to run for 15,000 miles, probably to between 8,000 to 10,000.

I've also purchased Toyota Type T-IV to change the transmission oil, brand new thermostat and also toyota long life coolant to change the coolant.

Re: Choice Of Engine Oil ? by tsiriman(m): 2:45pm On Oct 26, 2014
I serviced my corolla with 5W30 mobil 1 extended performance oil and the extended performance filter.
Wow, the sound of the car has even changed, the car is quieter, the engine runs smoother, so far so great.
For the past 2.5 years, the car has always been serviced with mobil 1 0W40 sold in the filings station.

Mobil says the oil can run for 15,000 miles but I plan to run the oil for 8k tp 10k miles, I'll update the house on the success.

I also serviced my 1999 camry with Milemaster 5w-30 with a proline filter. Sincerely, it's pays to follow what your manufacturer recommended. My car now performed to its maximum. The engine runs smoothly on motion, no noise, no smoke. I bought the Milemaster 5w-30 from Konga.

A friend of mine serviced his 1997/1998/1999 toyota camry(don't really know exact year) with mobil 1 0w40 recently though I advised him 2 get mobil 1 5w30. He said he couldn't get d advised oil weights and so settled for 0w40. I like 2know if he's safe with that particular choice. Any drawbacks from using mobil 1 0w40 for his car? Anyone cares 2shed light on this Thanks

what I meant was go by the mileage consumption stated by the manufacturer, if it says change every 15K miles do that, anything short of that is money down the drain.

How worn is your vehicle’s engine?

If your vehicle has logged a great many miles over several years and has been running on 30- or 40-single-weight oil, multi-weight oil isn't consistently thick enough to lubricate the worn engine parts that have become smaller while wearing down, leaving wider spaces between them. To keep the oil thick enough to fill these gaps, switch to heavier single-weight oil as your vehicle gets older and starts to run more roughly or burn up oil more quickly. If you've been running on 30-weight oil, switch to 40-weight at least during the summer, when oil tends to thin out.

On Nov 12, 2014 I posted this in the BMW Forum on Nairaland http://www.autoevolution.com/news/bmw-drops-castrol-for-shell-as-official-oil-supplier-88737.html.

When a manufacturer such as BMW decides to dump a long term partner (of over 40 years) for a new one, sit up and take note!

Also, ask why!!

Before I would have said get Mobil 1, now I would say if you can lay your hands on Pennzoil Ultra Platinum with PurePlus Technology OR Shell Helix Ultra with PurePlus Technology if you want not just best, but the very best!

You can read more here: http://www.shell.com/global/products-services/on-the-road/oils-lubricants/cars/shell-helix-pureplus.html and here http://www.pennzoil.com/technology-of-clean/why-pennzoil-motor-oil/

Ferrari and BMW are taking the lead with the switch, I think you should because I am

Hi Idara, I totally agree with you on the Pennzoil Natural Gas synthetic blends of oil. I have been using Mobil 1 full synthtic but after heavy researching, i hv decided to go with The pennzoil but my problem is where do i get the Ultra Platinum in 5 Qtz gallons? Do you have an idea, if i don't, I would end up with the Pennzoil Platinum 5W30 which is a superb oil too.
Re: Choice Of Engine Oil ? by timsobj: 8:23pm On Feb 08, 2015
Go for SAE10w 30-40 fully synthetic multigrade oil. It`s good for most recent vehicles. In any case, most oils labeled in Nigeria may not conform with claims. Always protect your engines with Nanotech oil ( Green Engine Revolution). You can call 08033527026 for more information or visit any automedics workshops near you.

Forgive my asking this question on the Mobil 1 extended performance which can do 15,000 miles that is about 24,140KM

Weekly on the average I do about 300KM

In a year, that is 15600KM

Then 24,140/15600 = 1.547435897 (That is 1.5 years)

Does it mean that the Mobil 1 extended performance Oil will run in my car for almost 1 year 6 months?

With our type of driving in Nigeria 6 months would be ideal.

1.Dusty/muddy roads.

2.Stop and go.

3.Long Vehicle idling due to hold ups and the rest.
