I also use an m7 and most of my friends always wanna take pics on my phone. Tbh, the m8's camera quality is really good. Tried out my cousins m8 and I was amazed at how great the phone was.

Obviously you've never laid hands on the HTC m8. Believe me,the BoomSound is amazing. You can watch a movie in packed football stadium and still hear your movie clearly.

@OP, the primary camera is not the best but it's better than you portrayed it. Yes it's only 4mp but remember,it makes use of ultrapixel. Have you ever tried taking a picture in a low light situation, say in the evening? That's when you will appreciate the ultrapixels. You also played down the duo effect. Let me give you a suggestion, take a horizontal panaroma picture and then apply the duo effect. Tell me what you see. The longer you spend with the camera, the more you'll come to appreciate it.

All in all,the HTC m8 is the best phone I've owned, and I've owned a fair number of good phones. The phone is simply amazing.
Man, thanks for the detailed answer you gave. Don't understand why they're saying HTC one m8 is a wacky phone.

so why did the OP talk like the camera is extremely BAD ? because 5/10 is damn too low for a phone worth over 99k mehn....comparing the camera to a blackberry z10 and the rest or samsung galaxy 4, which in your opinion do you think is better??

same too... but GTA vice city hangs on my HTC velocity + battery takes longer time to charge than to be used... pls any help ? ... thanks
Trust me bro, your battery is fake! the battery my HTC velocity came with is crap, charges for 6hrs, but I only use it for 20mins before it drains out. I had to get another battery, original.
it takes 3hrs for my battery to be fully charged from zero level and it lasts quite long, I can even watch 2 movies with it. Except when am "pinging" and surfing the net, that is when my battery dissipates.
On gaming, am not really the game type although I love car racing, but some game hangs, such as samurai and Pes14. I really enjoy the phone in reading novels, watching movies, playing chess, taking quality pictures and surfing the net.

My fantastic romance with HTC began with One. It's aluminium unibody design is solid, mature and simply irresistible. I think it exudes masculinity. I don't fancy phones with pronounced curves. In this light, is it safe to say that 'real men use HTC'?

Personally I prefer the Note series over any type of smartphone in the market, it offers you so much more, I just dislike touchwiz and I kinda don't like custom Roms too, so I'll wait for the Google release of version 5.0 and do the needful

Try viewing those pictures on a larger screen device like a phablet, tablet or laptop?

A good battery should be able to do at least 3 full length movies.

Personally speaking, about the camera, I am not your average camera freak, picture frenzy. So I don't get to really use the camera, but would try the suggestions given by fellow HTCians . That been said should you get to transfer the picture to a PC, zoom, you wont like the picture. But all the same, the phone is a machine, I wouldn't advise rooting as that voids your warranty.

To the folk that ask for its office, none for now, HTC isn't popular in Nigeria. But I recommend you get from accredited stores like SLOT, where you get value for money. Ask for the Gunmetal Gray, its more beautiful than the Glacial silver am using, Amber Gold is rare, expect online.

I'm not against Sammy nor Sony(I appreciate their designs esp Sony(I would have bought Z1c had it been this was not available)). However, it's not fair seeing the company that makes the Most beautiful, Sound inviting , Laggless phone not the top seller.

It is a beauty to behold. An audio that is extremely clean. Remember even a deaf man can regain its auditory organ

Basically the OP did a good job by making a review of the phone. However, I must state that making a review of such a gadget requires some savvy, experience with smartphones, medium expertise and some in depth knowledge of some functionalities of smartphones. At this point, I'd say I vehemently disagree with the camera review. The M8 camera does excellently well in good lighting conditions. In dim light which you'd require a flash, it's rather average

Bought the Note 3 on launch and it's 1yr 2 months old and still works like a boss. Mint clean with no scratches (I don't use a case or screen protector). Running latest android OS 4.4.2 KitKat and battery still goes strong.
That OS might not be the latest. I'm using the M8 and on Kit Kat 4.4.4 so it's definitively not 4.4.2

Obvious you've never seen one talk more of handling it. Camera is mediocre for a high end phone doesn't mean it doesn't shoot better than a S3. And I've used both. It's still a very okay camera for me as i'm not a pedestal photographer.

At this point, I'd say I vehemently disagree with the camera review. The M8 camera( 4 Ultra pixel back camera and 5 mp front camera) does excellently well in good lighting conditions, however the hassle is that there can be an occasional over exposure or over brightness affecting the shots. It does pretty well in low lighting conditions too. It has interesting settings such as the U focus setting that allow you blur a background but give clearness and definition to the subject of the photo- giving you something similar to a dslr camera effect.
I don't own one but I love comparing camera quality of phones, so far I'd say only phones like Samsung S4(maybe),S5, IPhone 5 and Sony experia Z1 and Z2 beat the M8 in complexity and quality. I stand to be corrected. Once again, the review is very commendable and remarkable.

I don't understand the people hating on HTC itself, they must be the same brand w****s that would buy a piece of s*** because it has a Gucci tag on it. HTC may not have the same sales as the known and established, bigger companies, but if you have owned or used an HTC phone in the last 5 years you will know that they are full of quality. And when using/holding the One M8 it just has this inexplicable feel of a luxury item. I wasn't a fan of HTC until I actually owned a product of theirs. I first got the One S, and have now owned a One M8 since May.

I personally think it's a great phone that is worth every single naira/dollar, but then again, I'm not an avid user of cameras on phones, which, as I've heard, happens to be the biggest flaw with this phone.

By the way, if you have a One M8 and don't also own a Dot View case, you are doing it wrong. The case is fantastic, and even more so since the latest update. I got mine for $56.00 CDN when I bought my phone so it's probably cheaper now.

I understand where you're coming from mate but that's just a version number. KitKat is still the latest android OS because Lollipop 5.0 is yet to be released to carriers and OEMs. 4.4.4 just contains bug fixes and nothing else.

The M8 is a great phone but it's camera is a hit and miss affair. You don't need a degree to know a 4 mega pixel (ultra pixel is just a marketing gimmick to cut down cost) camera will have a poor output.

Maybe he didn't try it out in all types of conditions. And you also know different people have their different opinions.
My friend who uses an s4 was even saying he wished he had my HTC one m7.
The m8's camera might not be the best camera out there buh I still rank it as one of the top smartphones with a really good camera.

From what you've written, it seems it used to received signals before but is no longer receiving signals. If this is the case, then, it's not locked. It may be having some other issues.
Our services are to provide network/factory unlock codes for those ones that are locked to a network or service provider. When locked to a given network/provider, the phone will thereafter not accept any other sim card apart from a SIM card from that particular network it's been locked to.
I hope this has given you a clearer picture...
So, if you need to unlock any of your locked phones, yes, contact us, we can help you out on this.

Honestly aside from the fact that the S5 really stands out above it's peers, no OEM has as much after sales service support, Warranty, ADH at that and OTA updates for its flagship devicies like Samsung especially as far as the African mobile market is concerned. It's no wonder those who went 4 other flagship devices keep consoling themselves by creating threads such as this.
