please Doc. ..am eyes are always itching...and i feel as if there are sandy particles in my eye ,..and also my eyes goes cloudy all of a sudden and when i rub the eyes it clears imediately,,,,used glasses but no improvement....what could be cause and remedy,,,tnk u..

I am an Eye doctor, I discovered through clinical experience that most Patients don't really know about some basic things and problems affecting the eyesn and these has led to simple eye problems being seen as complicated and frightening to most patients and they don't really know how to go about it. There are some eye problems that are hereditary,which requires normal routine eye examinations but due to ignorance most patients tend to lose their sight to eye problems that could have been prevented. I want to use this opportunity to enlighten us and provide solutions to problems affecting the eyes,in line with WHO Vision 2020-Right to sight for all, so all questions concerning the eyes are welcomed

Do u mean that ur level of vision is diminishing ??

I stay around yaba. I was given glasses to use when the diagnosis was done but no reasonable improvement has been noticed on the eye.

and advised to periodically use one eyes drop called timolol.

Vikkyk10...You are not too young. I have consulted kids as young as 5yrs with myopia and have to prescribe glasses for them. The earlier the better. If you are short-sighted then get corrected, otherwise you might develop amblyopia or if its a degenerative myopia it might get worse. The tearing might suggest an associated astigmatism. So u need to examine ur eye to know the degree of myopia cus high myopia comes with risks of retino-vascular issues like glaucoma. Hope am not making u scared.

Hi opticians, I don't know whether it is a problem or not; I can't see without squeezing my face in the afternoon. Perhaps the sun or any light cause me to strain my sight. Do I have any thing to worry about?

Squinting is what u described. Its mostly associated with refractive errors.
