The best thing to happen to Nigeria so far,is the removal of the Arabic inscription on the naira. It is high time the Northern extremists realized that the southerners are increasingly becoming stakeholders in the Nigerian project, and will refuse to be
muzzled to the back seat. It is unarguable that Arabic is NEVER a national language, just like the Hebrew language is not either. Therefore,Arabic not being one of our national languages shouldn't have found its way into the naira. Period!

Biko Built2last, your soooooo on point jare! All these religious fanatics shaa! For me oo, I support the removal of that Arabic inscription or whatever name it goes by. Biko does Arabic writings not connote Islamic religion in some way...abi it's the same as Hausa language? Maybe other religious sects will start asking for N100 to be written in their religious language! All these Hausas/Muslims eh, I don't know why they've sworn Nigeria won't have peace as if it's their fathers' village! Btw,it would be senseless to say they can't recognise the naira note cos the inscription was removed. Even a baby in the womb knows the naira when he/she sees one and actually can say which denomination it is. Biko these people should stop looking for trouble where there is none! Nonsense!

Pls, tell me who is sentimental? IS ARABIC AN OFFICIAL LANGUAGE IN NIGERIA!!!! Go and write it down, we will remove all those Arabic inscriptions or what ever u call it, its just a matter of time. All the plans of I.O.C, the lion of the tribe of Judah will bring to nought IJN!
Some even claim it's for the Hausas, in a fair country? Are those notes made for one tribe alone? Let them inscribe Yoruba and Igbo languages as well nau.

It was introduced in our country in 1989 when Rt Gen Badamosi Babangida led Nigerians to Arabic league of Nation. Regardless of the bigot laden statements so far on the thread, this remains the main reason why Ajami was used on the naira note, CAN is really working though, through ignorance,it is raising the next generation of lord resistance army fighters, who rather than demand good governance would prefer finding new fronts to fight Muslims. Any nation where people put bigotry and fanaticism before tolerance is doomed to be stagnated. [/quo

I pity this country
How can he be on point
He blamed the failure to commemorate June 12 this country on the North - Obj was president for 8 years
He claims that the North does not love Nigeria - Does Jonathan love Nigeria
Have you compared Jonathan's response time to National Crisis (eg Ebola) to his swift response to issues threatening his political aspirations (eg Tambuwal defection)
Has Jonathan jailed any corrupt person - where is Maina? do you remember
Ndume is of the PDP? His case for link with Boko Haram is being badly handled - so said the judge last week
When Maitatsine terror group was ravaging the country in the 80s, the government then routed them frontally
Jonathan is blaming the North today - yet some of them gave him more than 25% of their votes

The essence of the currency is for people to use it, if you make it difficult for a good part of the people it is meant for to identify and use it, then you have only proven to be myopic.

I also find it funny that the opponents of the Arabic script are motivated by hate and to a lesser extent fear. Removing the scripts will not change their fear or reduce their hate. I find it amusing as a result.

We just need to be security conscious cos in matter of days the news that Hausa/Islamic Inscriptions has been removed will go viral, they will tag all of us HARNI (meaning Unbeliever) and may go on rampage killing themselves not me.

I remember my uncle who was a member of MPR telling me that Soludo had good plans for the Naira but the northern hegemony wont allow him. That his problem with Yaradua began the day he raised it in their meeting that Nigeria is a secular state and so should not have any religious inscription in our currency. He said YARADUA heard of it before that meeting ended. Of course his brothers informed him. Yaradua called Soludo as the meeting was ending to ask how true.

Most people think Soludos tenure was not renewed because of the planned devaluation of the naira which presidency claims they were not carried along. but the inscription on the naira was the genesis of Soludos crisis with Yaradua. OBJs grand plan was that Soludo should remain and complete the devaluatuion plan.

ur argument is heavily flawed
A BELIEF is different from a FACT so we await more thoughts on this.
From when ENGLISH became our lingua franca, learning to read & write other languages was & is just an added advantage. If d inscription was in Hausa language , that cud be excused odawise, its just fair that its removed. Arabic is not d official language of hausa. It is d language of d muslims in general. Latin and hebrew is d language of d christians. Since latin or hebrew is not there, its proper to remove d arabic incription. No arabic tabloid or writing has words writen in english and vice versa. So if english is our lingua franca, then we stick with it.
My opinion.

It seems you just felt like posting,It has been restated in this thread repeatedly that the ajami expression is simply hausa written with arabic letters!

If it's not a local dialect and it's not an official language: english or french, scrap it! It's not of essence. Who doesn't know that N100 is hundred naira? Next, someone would want jewish and latin inscrptions on the naira note. The ijaws, itsekiris, efiks and other over 200 tribes in this country have more rights to have their language on the naira note than arabic.

How does Jonathan and indeed Christians promote secularity
Don't you think then that we should not go to work on Fridays
Or at least 1st half of the year or every odd no year, we don't go to work on Fri and vice versa

And how are you guys promoting inclusion?
Infact you celebrate removal of every sign of Islam. Is that how you show it belongs to us all
The hate based on falsehood that your pastors preach must be frightening

If they had done it, what would have happened? You guys just throw up conspiracy theories
Is Lagos not the smallest state? how would it cope
Do you know that Nigeria is not the first country to change its capital
Do you recall the gridlock in Lagos whenever Jonathan comes around
Did you know that the committee that was responsible for selecting a new capital was headed by Justice Akinola Aguda

You are a dangerous writer
This is not the first time that this will be done
Soludo started it. Was there any riot?
You guys speak lies but pretend to be authoritative about it

Your uncle - now, we don't know him or even if he exists, do we?
Anyway my own uncle said that Yaradua had good plans. Did my uncle not say that. So Your Uncle 1, My Uncle 1 = draw
At least I recall that he said he could not host the 2009 U17 for N36b and held out until it was slashed to N9b
Google it
But we know how oil subsidy easily topped N2tr under Jonathan

And this is how we take decisions
Anybody can say anything and we just accept it as the truth!!!
Is this how decisions are made in a progressive country?
So you think anyone cannot come up with the "real reason" that Jonathan sacked Sanusi?
Something like "Jonathan wanted to sequester money away for his election rigging plans and Sanusi refused!"

So Obj wanted to continue ruling right through Yaradua's time
The nickel dropped!
So the country belongs to all of us
But Yaradua should be subject to Obj's grand re-denomination plan
You forget
You forget
That Soludo introduced a new note (N1,000) and shortly after he wanted to re-denominate
And he also introduced coins before his redenomination plan
Is that not confusion?
How is that a manifestation of a grand plan?
And what is so strategic about the re-denomination plan? And Obj did not announce it? Even very sound economists faulted it?
All these convoluted lying should stop

To start, who is benefitting from Boko Haram - APC or Jonathan. Of course it is Jonathan - no election in APC dominant-areas
Why should he do anything. You have been suckered
Remind me again the reason why Boko Haram took lives during the time of Yaradua
prompting Yaradua to order the violent suppression of their rebellion leading to the death of their leader?
Yet when Jonathan was going to embark on his strange ceasefire, people wondered why he was doing it at the time when BO was weak!
So why are we not killing BH when they are weak and yet they are now killing us
BH is mostly Kanuri - Buhari is Fulani
BH is in the NE
So why are the "hateful" Hausa/Fulani in the NW not the core of BH?
And we know that the NW inspite of your hateful message gave sizable votes to Jonathan in 2011

To start with, some of us suffer from Amnesia tell us the authoritative source for your statement
I hope it is not some aunt that told you
And Jonathan's second term is borne out of the love for Nigeria?
When Fashola was opening the Ikoyi bridge, he commended Yaradua for RAPIDLY giving approval for the demolition of a FG building that would be affected by the
Your Nigerians-loving Jonathan brought in soldiers to stop Fashola from constructing a building in Ilubirin
It took this Nigerians-loving Jonatan 3 weeks Aug 13 to meet govenrors after Ebola landed in Nigerian shores
It took him less than 48 hours to move against Tambuwal
He sacked Justice Salami on a Sunday and also formed PDP-gov forum on a Sunday
Jonathan went for rally in Kano and birthday party the day after Nyanya bomb blast
But cancelled FEC meeting due to Sambo younger brother's death
Are you for real?

You are ungrateful and don't fear God
Yaradua's state of Katsina gave JONATHAN 25% of their VOTES
Kano gave him 17%
Tell us the what the South gave Buhari?

What intellectual minds
This is pure sophistry
and is not so well done
SO this premise of theirs was disclosed to you? Where did they say it? Intellectual minds without proof?
With contradictory statements
This country is sick
Jonathan's supporters will claim any reason to present him as a victim

So why is Jonathan President and Fashola or Duke is not?
How come Utomi fizzled out and Jonathan waxed strong in 2011?
What is Patience doing lording it over everyone from Bayelsa to Rivers to Kwaras to Oyo to Delta?
Did you listen to Amaechi - 3rd mainland bridge, the Refineries, NLNG, Pipelines, Abuja, etc were done by Northerners
But Jonathan, a southern product of quota system, has been talking about East-West road for 6 years
yes we have a fantastic transformation on radio and tv
Logs in your eyes. LOOOOk!

What viper? Are you not saying that Jonathan will be president on Feb 14?
So they just want the APC ticket and not the presidency?
And how come this viper did not stop Jonathan from returning himself as the sole PDP candidate
This has never happened before
Is Jonathan deepening democracy?

So how come a weak Jonathan is your choice
How did he get there?
Another of Obj's grand plan?

Leave Minna and Kano
Visit Lagos and Ogun that commemorate June 12
But what about Oyo state? Ondo? Delta? Akwa Ibom? Rivers? Are they not laughing too then?
Who is stopping the Houses of Assembly in the South from making June 12 public holiday
Yoiu are a wicked liar and you need to really begin to fear God
What did Obasanjo do to immortalise Abiola? Was he not the first

And your poisoned pen is deadlier than BokoHaram's evil
We know Jonathan covers up for his incompetence by using religion and ethnicity to divide and distract
Chief Arthur Eze, campaigning for PDP in Anambra gov elections, said in the presence of Jonathan that "we voted for him (Ngige) and he now joined Awolowo's party (ACN)"
Did Jonathan rebuke him? Did he caution Asari for saying that Northerners are parasites
Did he censure people who are saying that it does not matter whether Jonathan performs or not, vote him, he is a Christian
You think that is how to build a country?

Indulgence in self importance

The dementedness and idiocy of your person smells to high heavens. the golden rule states that you must not do to others what you wouldnt want them to do to you. If Emefiele had removed the inscription and replaced it with a Hebrew writing, We will have the whole north burning by now. Why must the inscription be in the currency in the first place? Is Nigeria not a secular state. Dont allow me face you and expose the northern avarice and monopoly over the years.

Early Christianity started off with Jesus Christ,Judaism that has been practiced by the jews is not christianity-no doubt millions of Arab might choose to be christians, but 80% of Arab are Muslims-the ones that are christians probably migrated to the lands,or the Arabs forced themselves into their lands-like they always like to invade people's lands.
You are a big ignoramus if you do not know the origins of the religion you adhere to.
Mohammed grew up in Arab lands and later led a rebellion to gain countrol and power-all he knew and lived by was the Arab ways of life-Sharia and all.

Go to school my friend. You need education.
Islam and Christianity are middle eastern religions. You may not know that Nazareth the home of Jesus and where Jesus lived, is 70% Muslim even today as we speak.
