[b]Just last week MTN was in a recharge card printing scandal with APC..

Well , they've come out to wash their hands clean.

MTN Nigeria has dissociated itself from recharge cards bearing the logos of various political organisations being circulated in some parts of Lagos State ahead of the 2015 General elections in the country.

The mobile phone company said in a statement that “as a
corporate organisation MTN is non-political and non-
partisan.

MTN Nigeria does not have any arrangement with any
political party to produce specially branded recharge cards or merchandise. We also do not have any affiliation with any political party or organisation, either in Nigeria or in any of the 22 countries where MTN operates across Africa and the Middle East.”

The company also explained that “operators and their
authorised partners are allowed to sell logical PINs to
dealers and trade partners, who in turn retail them to third parties and members of the public who may also wish to/ reprint them for their private/commercial use.”

The company further stated that it “takes all prudent steps
to ensure that its dealers conform to agreed trade practices consistent with statute and policies governing the Industry.”

Currently there is no MTN policy that ban branding of the printouts.

A card distributor, decides to promote his political interest on his products (printout of his recharge cards), so what is the fuss - or is it because PDP were not the first to do it?

His products?? Remember , he's just a distributor! He was licensed to print out MTN recharge cards. NOT APC Recharge cards.

₦100 airtimes are being printed by almost anyone with an affiliation with MTN.
If he decides to include a party logo on it, I don't think the blame should go to MTN since it was done without their permission.
But MTN should get to the root of the matter. Whomever violated the rights (or instructions) should be made to pay.
Advertising Political Parties like they're necessary for our well being.

A Distributor has the RIGHT to print the PINs however he likes. You can print it on metal, plastics, paper, virtual transfers, etc. The card owner never said it was MTN advert to represent it as such.

As usual I will not be surprised if the Coven muscle MTN to place a ban on it - after-all they pushed the MTN/DSTV to retrieve the $15m they smuggled to South Africa.

Whatever PDP cannot own or control, they destroy.

Only a dunce will believe MTN printed cards for a political party. MTN dnt even print recharge cards. So, it's on of the dealers who'll print it and design the cover as APC instead of his business name which is nobody's problem...

my friend, he was not 'licensed' to print it, he bought the pins with his fuckin money and can print the sequences on even a toilet roll. MTN already got their money, how he prints is no one's business. Av been there, ok?

And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea

And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.

And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God.

And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.

And he that sat unpon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new........

Must we politicise everything, even to the extent of politicking on recharge cards?

Nigeria, always breaking new grounds for others to follow!

I hail thee!

I knew that previous thread of 'APC logo on MTN recharge cards' was orchestrated by political bigots who intend to fan the coal of rivalry between both parties.

Shameless country...over to PDP now. My mind is telling me that they (PDP) will print their logo or whatever in GLO recharge cards. The owner(Adenuga) feeds fat from them. And maybe...Dangote cement. Our country is full of suprises..
