Greetings people. Sorry i am just responding to this. I have been on transit the last two days. Just arrived and its good to know that most of ur querries to me have been handled already. As for my timeline/experience, i believe i shared this in here (some pages back), but i will repeat for benefit of those that do not have time to go back.

Application received at CIC Novia Scotia - 30th April 2014.
Credit card charged - May 2014
PER mail - 5th June 2014
Additional Documents/Medical Request -28th October 2014
Medicals done - 30th October 2014
Additional doc received - 13th November 2014
Passport Request - 26th November 2014

The experience has been great (ofcourse it could not have been without everyone in this great house- special thanks to all the seniors). My candid advice to everyone still in this process; PLEASE learn to wear the garment of patience and always ask when not sure! Also learn to be meticulous and pay serious attention to details to avoid mistakes. Check, double check and tripple check!!!

Please does this mean the FSWP program has been cancelled? I was just planning to get the PR, Am not really planning to move there. But it looks like to qualify for the express you need to have a job offer.

I guess this definitely put an end to the argument about when the current FSWP ends. It ends 31st December 2014, which eventually paves way for the Express Entry to kick off in January.
Too bad, as I thought the current system is easier and offers better opportunity.
I would expect CIC to start turning down or close receipt of applications with immediate effect.
I guess some of us who sent in late and are expecting to be charged should just be on our intense praying mode.
My application was sent November 26.
OR I could be wrong. CIC could accept applications till end of the year.

Surely, every application received till 31st December and stamped in will be processed according to the 26th april,2014 gazette.
Any applications received after CIC lock their office on 31st will no longer be considered.
Since your application is already received, all prayers will be that nothing goes wrong with the application and I believe you will sail through.
Hoping to rejoice with your good news when the time come.
Cheers.

Yes,it seems the FSWP will be rounded off with the new gazette that was released yesterday.
The last gezette of 26th April,2014 indicated it will run till April 30th,2015 but with a clause that another gazette may/can come out to override it....this gazette was released yesterday and effectively negate the earlier one released.
The 600 points allocated to offer of Job/nomination makes it a conceivable ambiguous program.
Seems to me no points for relatives in Canada(yet to see it).
The focus now is more on qualifications and valid job offers/province nomination.
Seems to me they want to attract more of single applicants between 20 - 29 years.
Summarily,CIC,provinces and employers will have complete control over immigration activities henceforth unlike before when you are assured once you follow specified procedures.
Married couples get opportunity with their spouse level of education and experience...even at that, the points benefited seems small to me.
Its really a complex program looking at the fact that many applicants do not have Canadian experience or job offer.
The critical thing is that they have emphasize and make provision for points based on Canadian work experience so it will be most beneficial for applicants that fall in this category.
The worst of it all,IELTS points now very precious.
Its indeed a complicated program.
Cheers.[/b]

Thank you for your reply.

I read this link,http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/express-entry-immigrants.asp and I think i will just go ahead and apply. I guess what will happen is that people will apply for jobs they have no plans of accepting sad

Hi guys, I have a quick question regarding my POF. I'm a single applicant and have about 1m fixed deposit(gotten from a property sale) which I just did last week and I have around 600k in my savings account waiting for some allowances which is about 300k to be paid around next week. That would make it a total amount if 1.9m and I want to know if submitting a copy of the fixed deposit certificate plus my saving account statement would be accepted considering the lodging date of the fixed deposit and the 300k allowance.
Re: Canadian Federal Skilled Worker Program-timelines Here by Meritl: 6:53pm On Dec 02, 2014
Well, I wish everyone goodluck.
Based on the new info, those applying for Express Entry will have a lot to do.
Just praying that God helps me.

I read on their site that to maintain your permanent residency you must spend 2 out of 5 yrs there. What of people who don't plan to move yet. If after 5 years I don't fulfill it will my PR be cancelled or can I renew it still
Re: Canadian Federal Skilled Worker Program-timelines Here by Hotstepper(f): 5:52am On Dec 03, 2014
Time you have lived in Canada
You must have resided in Canada for at least three years (1,095 days) in the past four years before you apply. This does not apply to children under 18.

You may be able to count time you spent in Canada before you became a permanent resident if it was during the past four years.

Use our online tool to find out if you have lived in Canada long enough to apply to become a citizen.
